  1. I don't experience cogging when crawling but I use a Hobbyking ESC so I dont know if that makes a difference. Also it could be that some owners have geared it a bit to high for crawling as they have tried to turn it in to a speed machine. I run mine with soft settings eg. 0 deg timing, low start power.
  2. Thats a hell of a jump in price just for upgrading to 2.4ghtz and putting the receiver in a plastic box. It's not like it's even brushless. Looks big in the photos but its only 1/12 scale and those are 2.2" wheels. i love running mine in the snow and water proofing has never been an issue so I don't know why they bothered.
  3. I run the 120amp Hobbyking ESC in my SCRT10 and it trips the thermal overload when pushed on 4S, so a 5S limit looks more appealling to me. It gives you a bit of head room. The Trackstar is notorious for failing so if this Turnigy proves reliable then it could become very popular with folks running 4S. I suspect peak amp limits are not much of a useful guide any how and it's ability to dissipate heat is going to be the limiting factor in reallity.
  4. I would expect batteries at that price to be junk.
  5. Depends what you mean by crawling. If you just want to drive over big rocks then it will work fine. It's not really meant for serious rock crawling. If you only gear up by a few teeth, to 16T then it still works just as well as stock. Even going up to 18T it can still scramble about over rocks with out much of a problem.
  6. OK thanks mate. I have a 19T on order.
  7. Have you still got the 20T pinion and do you know if it is Mod 1.0
  8. I have a leopard 2000kv motor in my SCRT10 with a 16T pinion, which is to low geared. I was wondering what others had used in similar setups. I was thinking of 19T but even that might be a bit low. It's £8 a go so i don't want to guess again. I am using it mainly on grass so I don't want to gear it for speed runs, I just need to get the maximum efficiency out of the motor.
  9. It would appear from your other postings you are trying to take advantage of the forum. If you are interested in RC and want advice then try putting something into the community. Start by updating your profile to tell us something about yourself and asking some sensible questions. Nobody wants to give stuff away for free if you are just going to flog it for cash.
  10. I ll get back to you tomorrow with a photo and find out what postage is going to be.
  11. You can have the parts for nothing if you pay postage and paypal fees.
  12. I have bandit spares. I have a set of dished wheels front and rear with some old pin spike tyres on. Front and rear suspension arms Front and rear camber links 1x drive shaft 2x front axle carriers 2x rear axle carriers 2x rear shocks with Black traxxas springs but no lower spring retainer cups 2x steering links
  13. Only 4 days to get a SCRT10 part from Taiwan from Ebay seller.

  14. Traxxas Summit is a good option. It's an Erevo with longer suspension arms and it still crawls with a brushless motor in it as long as you don't gear it up to much. it's only drawback might be that it's never going to have scaler looks but it is very strong straight out of the box.
  15. My MiP's are still going strong, still could have saved £65 if I had done your mod. I can't believe how strong this truck is. I have holes in my lawn a rabbit would have been proud off from cartwheeling at speed.
  16. It runs crap on my PC and I don't think it's worth upgrading for. BF2 was good when it came out but I find it dull compared to everything else since. I bought modern Combat 2 against my better judgement and played it about 3 times. I just find the whole series lacking in fun. Not sure whats missing but part of the problem in the past was being sniped on a large map then having to spend ages running back across the map to get sniped again. I watched my son playing on the Xbox and it seemed pretty good but it's pretty run of the mill stuff. They really need to try harder and produce something original.
  17. So the failures were all accidental damage really and nothing to do with poor build quality. That makes the castle MMM sound much more appealing.
  18. I think it is fair to say that any ESC will have a higher failure rate if it is constantly pushed to its limits and the MMM ESC is usually the first choice for running on 6S. Any ESC I have broken is because I overloaded it and I would not trust my HK150 to be reliable on 6S TBH. It would help if people would say what they were doing when thier MMM blew so we could have a more informed opinion. I would be pretty cheesed off if a MMM blew when running on 4S as thats way below its capability. i could accept an occassional failure if I was constantly running on 6S as thats a lot of energy to control.
  19. My Mip CVD's are holding up well. I broke one pin but it just needed a pin to sort whereas the stock shafts were ruined. Also the MiP's have no flex in them and it makes a noticible difference as the truck wheelies much more frequently now even on a single 3S pack.
  20. You are not alone with this problem. Have a read through this thread. http://www.msuk-foru...mmit-dont-work/ Most breakages occur when the the drive pin comes loose in the joint and begins to slide out. Constantly checking your drive shafts for loose pins and using thread lock on them will help reduce failures.
  21. Couple of weeks back i got an ESC from Hong Kong in 5 days. Normally orders take 10 days. Could be that small parcels can slip through customs faster.
  22. Thanks for the links Bez. I can see how the motor mount you linked to would give more adjustment. I have a 16T pinion on order which I think should be about right for 2S and 3S lipos.
  23. I have just bought a SCRT10 roller of Davemate and have it up and running with a Leopard 2000kv motor and a 13T pinion. my problem is the gearing is a bit low but I don't seem to have enough adjustment on the motor mount to squeeze in a larger pinion. Can I get a smaller spur gear for it?.This would raise the gearing and give me more space for pinion adjustment but can't find any spur gear options on the web so if someone could point me in the right direction I would be grateful. Also, a link to an exploded parts diagram or manual would be handy. Nothing on Hong Nors site that I could see. I am really liking this truck so far and i recon it handles much better than my Slash 4x4 I used to have.
  24. Happening in lastest version of explorer and Firefox but I just got it working on my wifes laptop after clicking 3 times. Working first click now but can't get access to my own PC right now.
  25. OK who should I contact for help as I need this sorted?
