  1. .......and looks amazing even with the 1000:1 contrast ratio. Anyway its better than my old 28" CRT :P

Well technically a 1000:1 contrast ratio would be a lot worse than a CRT TV :whistling: but I know what you mean :good:

Does it do 1080p over component?

  2. Looks good but only 1 HDMI connection is a bit poor, that along with the 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Hopefully it is fine for you but that single HDMI wouldn't be suitable for me.

  3. .......does anyone know how to remove that like dark brown much stuff that stains exhausts ? i mean brasso does it well but it takes ages !!

Sand it or use a Dremel with the wire brush attachment.

  4. Not yet I'll sort some out at the weekend.

BTW whats the best weight shock oil to use?

When I had mine I removed one shock off each corner and refilled the ones left with FG 500wt oil.

The stock set up of two shocks per corner is way to stiff and I think they have 1000wt oil in them.

Remove the rear anti roll bar as well if you haven't already, you do get a bit more roll but it frees up the rear suspension nicely so it actually moves.

  5. Nice one!

I would love a bike but two things would happen to me.

The first thing would be that it would scare me to death and the second would be that after I got used to the speed I would wrap it and myself around a tree and that would be that.

  6. Hi, I'm a bit new to this having just bought a Fg two weeks ago. Been running it on Castrol TT and wish to change if it's thought neccessary to a synthetic oil. Do i just let the engine run out (dry) of the previous mix or do I need to strip and clean it?

Is it Castrol TT or Castrol TTS you are using?

Ideally you dont want to change between synthentic and mineral based if you can help it.

I use the TTS and fine it good as it isn't very smokey and the car just seems better to me on it.

If you do want to swap a strip down and clean out would probably be the best thing to do,I have also heard of people changing the piston ring when changing between oils but I dont know why

  7. If you build a car from a kit it will normally include screws of the right type to fit the servos into the car.

I know Tamiya kits dont make use of the rubber grommets, they just screw the servo down directly.

  8. Should go right on as you have the OWB already in the Rotostart so you shouldn't need any other bits.

Come to think of it the only problem might be the small screws that hold the starter on,the ones on the Roto might be slightly longer than on the pull start and I dont know if you get screws with the pullstart.

I might be totally wrong but it might be worth looking into.

Sorry to bump this thread again, but is it still proving to be good Smallman? As i might get one of these sometime in the near future, saves the hassle of running a nig nitro

Still going strong,I haven't used it in anger for a while but by coincidence I stuck a bit of fuel in today and started it up,started easily on the 5th pull :o

If I were to buy anything now I would probably get the Riot, basically a bigger Rascal.

I was thinking of getting some of the Riot parts such as the suspension arms to make a wider Rascal and maybe getting a proper exhaust to fit.

Then I came to my senes and said why?

For how much I use it I will leave it as it is I think :D

  10. Full of kids, rules are too strict, threads get locked for no reason. Most people give out rubbish advice just for the sake of posting.

Yes I agree, people have abused MSUK's relaxed attitude including me in the past.

I think staff should do something about it, its getting stupid.

Tighten the rules and start punishing imo

    So which is it :D

  11. Is it just me or does the 3mm hex driver included with all the extra bits not fit any of the 3mm screws?

I've not noticed as I was using a Hudy 3mm one but now I've buggered that up (excessive force whistle.gif) it just doesn't fit, it seems the end rounds off right at the end and that makes it too big to get in the hole. I'm just about to dremel a bit off and see if that makes any difference.

Something says my 'quick clean' isn't going to be that quick.

    Stu

My 3mm seems to be okay.

I was lucky as I have tried just about all the srcews on my car at one time or another and I haven't rounded any out,not even the ones holding the engine in.

  12. Radio glitch?

Have you got a failsafe fitted?

Is the receiver battery charged enough?

Has the crystal come loose in the receiver, has it failed?

Have any servo wires come out of the receiver?

    Has the aerial wire split?

Ther are a lot more reasons as well, you need to do some checking.

  13. Bugga! Thanks for the info. I bought a tank and some wheels one week and the missus sent the money via paypal and l then l bought a Spider diff for another £20 the next week and the missus said "do you want me to send the other money? You haven't got the other bits yet" - l should've listened to her....l suppose *insert miffed face*

l could've bought a few litres of dodgy nitro fuel with weird oil % content with that £40 *insert smiley face*

Try filing a claim with Paypal.

If the seller has closed their account PP will say they cant get any funds and you are stuffed but it is worth a go.

Is it not possible to check your PP account and see who the money was paid to and get their name and address, its unlikely they have a shop and the details might be their home address and phone number.

Phone calls are more difficult to ignore than an email :good:

  14. yes mate i understand what off topic means it just seems to me the off topic section is becoming the on topic section. but hey it was only my opinion. if you want to chat about take aways go for it.

    chris

I see what you mean, there is more going on in the non RC parts of an RC forum.

  15. I thought they had knocked it on the head once because of some problem or other.

The problem you seem to be having now is similar to what poeople were complaing of before.

They had a shop on ebay and their feedback got worse just before the shop closed.
