  1. Check out www.mmrlargescale.co.uk loads of engine options available with us.

Better still give us a call at the shop and we can have a chat about what exactly you want.

    All the best

    Gareth

  2. Im taking my SC to America and have taken a few RC related items to the USA on long haul flights.

They will not allow anything that has had petrol in it!?! The engine is fine as it has been burnt already.

The exhaust is fine but Ihave heard of a few folks having to leave pipes at the air port.

My advice is to tell them as little as possible and bin the fuel tank get one wherever your going. I always fly Virgin as you can book your RC gear on as sporting baggage.

  3. surely you should never recive a curt reply no matter what the customer says? that in its self is bad customer service

If someone is rude to me then yea I'll send a turse reply back. But there is only 2 occasions that I have done so. Most people are very polite and only wNt to know something

  4. In all fairness you would only get a curt reply from me if you had sent a curt message in the first place. I'm not saying you did just saying that you will reap what you sow with me on that front as long as you are civil I will be nothing but to you. I will check out our emails between each other I have all 50,000 odd sent and received emails from day one of MMR. And the problem you had will be solved with the new web site. There will be parts you can back order but you will know this from the off.

  5. Find me a customer who has had a horror story with MMR and I will give you our side of things. We all know there are 2 sides to every story. I'm not saying we have never done wrong but it is very easy to critique.

I know of each and every transaction and each and every complaint made with us.

Get me a name by PM and I will explain our side. In as much as I can without falling outside of data protection.

I know the customer is always right but sometimes not! Don't get me wrong we may have ruined someones weekend by parts not getting there in time but that's going to happen nothing we can do about postal services. And we look after our customers.

And as to just for the record. I have no issues with him or his business. He offers a good service which we don't so good for him.

I only posted here because of the direct comparison made that needed correcting.

  6. Cheers Mark for the explanation of your experience of shopping with MMR.

On the most part stock levels is what let's us down. Not that we never have had it that we ain't got it at the time. But this will be sorted out next Friday. And you will see that we have a lot more than you thought.

We order in stock from the US every week so there is a constant flow and nothing is on back order in general there are of course some instances where it maybe longer but the client is informed for much longer than a week.

We are here to stay we are moving into other scales of RC with the inception of MMR Flux. So watch this space.

  7. We buy direct. On the big sellers items from the below.

    HPI

    Turtle Racing

    Hostile Racing

    Threashold

    Moddified RC

    Chacal RC

    Silverback RC

    Micro Hobby

    Kraken RC

    Uber RC

    GH hobby

We have been for a long long time cheaper to any of the above from us than importing but you have to factor in the 20% extra for vat taxes and shipping.

I understand that everyone shops around that why our prices are keen as. We are as competitive as anyone out there in general.

  8. I hear you and understand.

If anything Abbots us making more out of you selling cheaper parts than we do. So if you want my advice don't be fooled into the cheaper prices push him for more discount.

He has zero overheads he can sell parts for next to no profit we dont have that option providing the services we do.

So the next time you order press him for more discount! Don't let his cheap prices fool you into impulse purchases.

  9. I can confirm that Jason's garage business is having no impact on us at all Kieren. Our sales are strong and we are growing every month.

We have never had live stock levels on the site.

I am stunned that some even try to compare us together the only thing we have in common is that we both sell HPI Baja parts.

MMR employs 2 full-time employees and 2 part time.

We have a full retail shop

An out door track free to use for all customers.

An in house engine tuner and we offer a full repair service.

    A dyno

    We run monthly indoor events

We have one of the best looking sites and as soon as the new site is live one of the best.

We are always checking out the forums we are almost always contactable in one way or another.

We are official HPI dealers and TBH honest we have never sold a HPI engine to a client. Clients have bought them and we have offered other cheaper alternatives.

We all know the HPI engine is a CY engine. We have been selling a 29cc stuffed 2 bolt engine complete with clutch and carb for

  10. This thing is ****ing huge I have had one for quite a few weeks now.

I was involved in the final testing and approval of the product.

There are a few things of which are well documented that are lacking a little. But with a little investment mainly electronics they are a very worthy Basher.

I have a video somewhere of it running. I'll dig it out.

  11. I remember when you asked me why your mcd would not sell, presume the pics were taken in Bosnia high st <img src='http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> <img src='http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' thats always the other problem I suppose

within any warranty has the product been abused or badly driven,so many people try it on,and what is normal use how high can you jump before the warranty

expires, how bigger motor can you fit.Modeling musy be the most warranty unfriendly place on earth, can see a slight Improvment, but until they cost in a 20%

replacement charge in the cost, which means mass numbers or higher prices then we will have plenty to type about .

As for the Punisher the cml cars are heavily modified, and have some very good drivers but why have they not taken off in worldwide racing where Mcd have won,

nothing wrong with driving a car at any price it's down to choice/budget and common sense <img src='http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)

I have never heard of HPI refusing a warranty. They know what goes wrong and they deal with it. I think you will be hard pressed to find a unhappy HPI customer who has had the need to get something sorted.

Take the SS exhaust for example. The header used to snap off and it was from rear end landings but HPI still warranties the part even though it had been used.

I have seen engines replaced due to a lean seize. They know what's important and that is not to **** of future customers for something that in reality costs them naff all. But some companies just dont get it.

  12. Yes im a Team driver but believe me if i was getting bad service then that's what id be writing.

Just because i get my parts at trade price doesn't mean they own me or tell me what i can or cant say about them.

And just to put the record straight about the punisher racing at the nationals, Is far (Very far) From stock and the main

reason its having such good results is down to one thing and he's called Steve Haynes <img src='http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)'

Thats what it's all about. I bet you could give Ian Oddie a bog stock FTX punisher and he would win all day long. That's why works drivers are works drivers. If it wins if sells. Simple.

Stevo in an Elcon. Ian Oddie in a Contrast Fuego. Winning races sells models it's always been like that. You don't get noticed otherwise.

  13. Got to say ive had nothing but great service from Kingcobra.

And yes before someone adds i am a Kingcobra team driver and get my parts at trade price but i still call the shop for any parts and to have any problems dealt with.

Yep the front diff broke in my V4 but that was after running a full national weekend in front wheel drive only mode.

Spoke to Kingcobra and free replacment parts were in the post the next day.

With all due respect they are not going to **** off a team driver are they that's class suicide.

If you got a free diff for the V4 I'll be getting a refund from KCR then.

How many privateer MCD owners race at the nationals?

  14. MCD wise though KCR racing is the main importer. And MMR where getting a lot of their other stock from KCR as well. For instance when I went to MMR and spoke to Ian when I brought my EVO 3 comp. I was discussing the price of the 813 carbs that at that time where about 55 quid from MMR and was told by Ian that they are now getting their stock from DDM. so they pay all the import etc and now the price for 813 carbs are
  15. Ok I'm a MCD owner. And love how they run.

Like the product the V4 that is the only MCD that's any real good other than the ultimates without spending loads on.

That there is the problem right there exactly what I said in the above paragraph.

Should we MMR have bought say 50 MCD's which we could do financially indecently we would still be sat on 46 of them.

Why do Modelsport the UK's largest model shop not sell the V4? I know exactly why and some others probably do to.

People don't buy MCD because they are sure to get shafted and have to buy a

  16. What a load of toss!

Do you know what this says?

    I'll tell you.

We have been working one up you for so long that now the pot has dried up we will try and give you just a little back.

If they really want to do you a favour they ought to sell you spares at trade cost rather than sell direct give us a mere 10% off and make even more money out of us saps.

What a ridiculous situation. MCD have always been far to expensive in the UK for one reason KCR!

We could buy a MCD MT ultimate at retail in the US have it shipped here pay all the relevant duties and taxes and still pay less than the UK trade price!
