  1. So my new parts arrived today!

Pull start with spring and pin

    New air filter foam

    New shell

I fitted the pull start and air filter foam and although Iv only got old fuel I had a go at starting it.

The pull start worked a treat and after a few attempts it started!

The car isn’t running very well or for very long, which il put down to the bad fuel but I also imagine it needs to be tuned!

I had a play around with tuning it but I wasn’t making any progress with my knowledge and the old fuel.

Are there any good tutorials / videos on tuning a nitro engine? For basically a beginner!

Would anyone local to Wiltshire be willing to give me a hand? Happy to provide beers or cash!

Thanks again for all the help! Im happy Iv actually got it started!

if your getting one as part of a kit, that will be handy, but if you need one separate, i found one here, uk seller, for £1.50
im not 100% sure its the right part, youll have to measure the hole in the crank, see if its that 5x2.55 pin will fit, but its listed as fitting a .21 force engine. part number rs18.

    Thanks for the help Chris

I might order that pin just incase, do you think it comes with the spring?

im also thinking of buying this

    https://smddirect.co.uk/collections/force-brand/products/fma-b21c

not much info on it, do you think this would fit? Worth a gamble?

    thanks

  3. The car used to have an attachment on it so it could be started with a roto start so I’d imagine I pull start could go on.

i don’t think the crank is damaged, I honestly haven’t got a clue about engines but surely if I got a pin and I assume a little spring and put it in the crank that should be ready for a pull start?

    thanks

in my limited knowledge, yeah, all the engines ive seen, have about 5 mm of crankshaft sticking past the conrod, to engage the plate.
i dont know what to do about that.
i think you'll be best off saving your money, and just using the bump box.

Iv had a look in my stuff and I can’t find this pin!

I assume it would be a pain to try buy one?

    thanks for the help

its a force 21 engine isnt it.
should be able to find a pull start for that somewhere.
youll need a one-way roller bearing nut, to slide onto the shaft as well.

did you fit that 26 head on the engine yourself ?
i wonder if its got something to do with your starting and reliability issues. might be missing a gasket underneath, or different shape underside, to the original.

pull start with screws - double check the part number on this, before you buy.

one way bearing - measure the shaft, to see if its 6mm. if so, this should fit, and mate to that 14mm pull cord

Thanks for the links, I will measure the shaft and get those ordered if you think that’s what I need?

The 26 head came with the engine from new.

  6. Hi all

Iv decided to get my old nitro buggy out from my parents garage to see if I can get it going.

it’s always had issues with starting and been unreliable.

I’m going to order some fresh fuel and glow plugs,  what else should I do as it’s not run for 5 years maybe?

also, I’m fed up with how difficult it’s always been to start, if I remember rightly it came with a torque / drill start thing, (sorry I don’t know the name for it) I took it off and just started using a starter box but wasn’t always easy.

whats best to start the engine? Pull cord or a drill? Iv got a few decent drills always charged for work so would be keen to use those if that’s better than a pull cord.

The car is a Jammin X1CR which I got from America maybe 10-15 years ago

Its missing a few minor bits, are there anywhere I could get parts for it in the Uk?

  7. Okay, so little update, a few months ago i took the car apart as i smashed the front end up :( took me a wile to get the parts so it was left unused for ages, today i rebuilt the front end, that was a right puzzle! and now the engine has seemed to seize? any ideas why? i took the clutch off and it then seemed to turn in my hand and the piston was moving up and down but when fixed to the car is won't turn with the starter,

    any ideas?

  8. Hello,

Recently decided to get back into the RC world! After selling up a few years back i still had my buggy, Its a OFNA Jammin X1-CR which i bought in America years back. Last year i got it out dusted it off, went out and bought a new clutch, tubes, fuel, glow plugs and few other bits, i had a go at getting it up running again but gave up. Last week i had another go (More determined) and i got it running! it was the clutch that was playing up, it needed rebuilding and the engine needed tweaking!

I'm really not very good when it comes to engines etc and id consider myself quite the "Noob" but I'm very happy with it starting and running again now! Hopefully with help from you guys il have it running perfect again!

    Heres a few photos,

Okay so few issues i need help with, the main one is that the steering isn't turning very fast, i found the issue, its the plastic mud guard rubbing on the servo which slows it down, i removed the guard and it worked much better but I'm still not happy with it. i want to upgrade the servo and pack it up so it does not rub.

So the question is what servo do i need for quick sharp steering?

What does it mean when the car cuts out when i remove the glow plug warmer?

Where can i get a shell from cheap?

    Thanks in advance!

    Arthur

  9. Hello,

Just got my Buggy back up and running after a few years of giving up with it not working!

    its a OFNA Jammin X1CR

Few items im looking for if anyone has anything... -

    1) Transmitter! mine got smashed up in storage so i would like a new one! mine has a wheel, my TT01 had an Acoms Techniplus 27MHZ transmitter with the sticks, whats best? Wheel or sticks? Has anyone got one for sale?

    2) Crystals, i am after a decent set of crystals! (Not 27.195)

    3) Air filter, maybe a alloy one?

    4) Pull start, Iv got a starter box but iv always fancied a pull start, so if anyone has a cheap used pull start?

    5) Body Shell in any condition

    6) Fuel filter, do i need one?

    7) spares, if anyone has a box of spare bits and bobs they no longer need, wheels, nuts, screws etc etc...

That is all i can think off for now,

Any advice would be very appreciated!

    Thanks Arthur
