  2. Like for a like guys https://www.facebook.com/CarlCPhotography
  3. Teshi, I noticed you take pics of cars mainly. A mate has nice VXR I have offered to snap, any chance of some tips? I have some CPL's and ND filters to hopefully reduce reflections, but just tips on general togging of a motor is what I'm after, it's the first time I will be doing anything like this but hoping to add it to my portfolio.
  4. Wow, ain't posted in here in ages...but the again I haven't been out with the camera in months!! Hazza, nice to see the hardwork is paying off. The images are top quality. Stuart your landscape shots are awe inspiring, and Rich well wish I could snap aviation like you do. Anyway here's a few from, nothing great I must admit (I'm kinda rusty) Not sure if I posted this before: Really hoping to get out and about tomorrow, getting all my kit cleaned up and batteries recharged etc then just gonna set off walking somewhere.
  5. Got a new (to me) Canon 40D body
  6. Been a while!!! Shall be having a few of these over the Christmas period.
  7. Quick test with my new flash. Was fired off from the right along with the natural window light too.
  8. Finally treat myself to a new flash, Jessops 360 AFD got it for a nice sum of
  9. I wish I could draw http://www.boredpanda.com/3d-pencil-drawings-by-17-year-old-fredo/ Some nice pano's and landscapes being shot. I'm too busy with work to get the camera out which is a shame because now is the time for misted macro cobwebs and dew drops
  10. Sorted it, I wasn't loading RAW files into photoshop. I was using an already edited image...damn these night shifts messing with my head
  11. Quick q peeps: Just downloaded the trial of CS6, installed and updated the RAW, loaded an image and the RAW sliders don't appear? I work in RAW so in essence they should show right? I've checked in CS3 and my sliders are in there. I've googled to no avail, the results bring up the sliders which show me they do exist but I can't find out how to get them in my workspace, any ideas?
  12. They didn't make one because Canon combined the SD card slot inside the battery compartment to save space and therefore shrink the dimensions of the camera. But as with anything the Chinese will make money...here's hoping you don't have to change your SD card half way through a shoot. You will have to remove the grip just to do it...more time consuming than simply sliding opening a cover and swapping cards over.
  13. Hey guys, Here I have for sale the wifes old phone. It's in an average condition, its a 2 year old phone and has lived it's life in her handbag full of crap including the kitchen sink!! Anyways, I'm unsure if it's unlocked but I do know it works on 3 (three) network as that's what she's on. It connects to the internet like it should, I know as she was constantly updating her facebook status and tagging me in it!! I have factory reset the phone and I think it's on the latest firmware the handset can accept if not it's a simple update via the internet anyway. Unfortunately there is no box (dog thought it made a lovely snack) so it comes with charger and handset only. As stated it's in a used condition but the phone is in full working order. I can't test it on any other network as we now use micro sims. Pics... Price
  14. Weather helped Matt, but so did my ring flash and on-board flash. The also got a boost in photoshop but just mainly a curves adjustment of the lights and darks nothing too major.
  15. Oh and here's some shots from my canal walk...
  16. I had an IR filter used it for about an hour then binned it absolute crap. You need to do long exposures ideally as it's like putting a lens cap on (at least mine was) I also had to focus etc before I put the IR filter on. As for batteries I'd say it's time to invest in a new one, even with me doing onboard flash and off camera flash, macro and long exposures I can happily get a full days use out of one. I recently invested in a grip too, if bought new the come with an AA cassette type holder you can use or you can use 2 canon batteries. Oh and it's probably cheaper to pick up a second 350d body than getting the mirror replaced.
  17. Cheers hazza, will have to start going on it more often. Gonna spend an hour or so tonight browsing the groups etc.
  18. Still laid up with my shoulder and it's going to be another week before I'm hopefully back at work. Not all bad means I can go through some of the images I've not gone through in a while and mess around with them. Here's a few.... ps any ideas on how to get more views on flickr? I rarely use it but know I should start so any tips would be appreciated
  19. It's something I could look into but it's never really crossed my mind to do it on a semi permanent basis. No need to apologise either, the advice was good and is there for me to take on board should I decide to take it on as a more permanent thing. I'm not planning on charging family so it'll be a good idea to do those first and gain a little more experience. Thanks again Rich.
  20. Cheers Rich, I'm not planning on doing this as a permanent thing, I've just had quite a few friends and family ask me if I would do it and how much I charge. I haven't said anything or set anything in stone with any of them yet and thanks to the feedback I know I shouldn't be doing so just yet. I only have the one flash as my second slave died yesterday. I might look at making a reflector to bounce some of the light around and see what I can get.
  21. I don't think the background would be black in future hazza, the white sheet I use has gone walkabouts and I don't think the wife would have agreed me using the ones on the bed I do think some more "close-up" facial ones would possibly benefit to check sharpness so I might have to try them next time. I just want to know if you'd be happy with the images and pay a small fee? If not why, and what would you want as a customer?
  22. Being practicing my portrait shots, still not happy with the eyes sharpness but I'm thinking of maybe getting a little closer next time or using the 105 macro. All these were taken with the nifty fifty... Now here I pose a question, if this was your child would you be happy with the quality of the images and be happy to pay a small fee for them?? This next one is more aimed at me trying out some editing with new software, not sure what I was trying to achieve if I'm honest but the wife stated to "not make her look ugly"...
