Looking into this a bit more the run time is 5-8 mins. Is this good? What about petrol controlled cars - there must be a good recommended beginners one of those?

Hello everyone, I was thinking of buying a R/C car for my eight year old son as a birthday present. Can anyone recommend something that would be suitable for a beginner of his age (With help from his dad) but would last for quite a while and give him a good introduction to outdoor R/C cars?
