  1. Took some sandpaper to the paint to try and get the shine off it and make it blend a bit better with the matte grey paint of the Coyote. Roughs it up a little too which I think looks much better than all smooth and shiny.
  2. Haven’t had it out properly through mud again since fitting them so can’t say how much difference they’ll make, but I’m hoping they should stop a fair amount of crap from spraying in round everything. For my first parts to have to cut out and fit they weren’t too bad. Although if you follow the cut lines indicated by the instructions you’ll end up cutting one of the rear sections too short, which I annoyingly did. Also the middle sections weren’t the correct cut out lines for the 2.1 setup. I noticed thankfully before cutting and had to do some free form cutting to shape them around the engine mount on one side.
  3. Got some inner fenders and deeper rear bed for the Coyote over Christmas. My cutting and painting skills have a long way to go, but it’s my first time doing anything like this. Discovered when fitting as well that the deep bed is for the pre 2.1 setup, so it was hitting the spur gear casing, which meant I had to cut a chunk out of it to make it fit, which you can see in the picture. Also created a mount for putting the receiver box and ESC up higher above the motor. Think it works well to keep it high up in the cab part of the body shell and also neatens up the wiring loads as there’s no need to track the wires along the chassis rails anymore.
  4. A bit too much fun in the mud yesterday meant a bit of a cleanup needed in the front axle. Also have a slightly glitchy reverse. Takes a few seconds to kick in, so not sure if the ESC has gotten a bit too much water or a connection to the receiver is causing it.
  5. Fun in the mud And taking on the big rocks Although managed to break a wing mirror off at some point
  6. Any recommendations for that? I switched to the inner mounting point on both steering knuckles and that’s definitely lined the wheels up a bit straighter. IMG_4763.MOV It’s absolutely loving the mud and giving piggybacks to the Cub (my son’s been driving it when we’re out)
  7. Cheers Wombat, was concerned that there was something wrong with mine, so that’s good to know it’s all good and to just crack on. Had an absolute blast out in the forest with it, tackling rain, mud, rivers and all sorts. It handled it like a boss.
  8. Hey everyone. Just got myself a Coyote 2.1 and got it out for a runaround yesterday with my son, he used my FTX Outback Mini X Cub. Hopefully be joining into more of the RC fun within this topic. Apologies for the link, struggling with imbedding images and any time I’m uploading the file directly it’s upside down Coyote in the woods (let me know if the link isn’t working) Anyone any suggestions on how to correct wheel alignment of the front wheels, not steering alignment, but the wheels themselves sit sort of pointing outwards. I moved the steering arm to the more inner mounting hole on the knuckle, but still seems to sit a bit off. Runs ok and straight though.
  9. Great videos. How are you finding the Coyote? I’ve been considering it as my first 1/10th scale crawler
  10. No way, that’s class. The wee crawlers are pretty capable I’ve found. The Grasshopper has been loads of fun too.
  11. Hey everyone. Just joined the forum today and thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Stephen and I’m only really getting into the world of RC. Currently own an FTX Outback Mini 2.0 X Cub and an original Tamiya Grasshopper. Looking forward to learning from others on here and hopefully sharing a bit more about my RC adventure so far.
