  1. The rascal is cheaper as well But i think i would still have to go for the NT18T. The rascal is too big Shame it doesnt come with a started box. £74 is awy too much.
  2. Hi, Ive just seen the Xray NT18, they look good fun. What are small cars like to drive/tune? Also can you still get small nitro cars these days and how much would they be? Thanks
  3. I think im missing that then How do you tell if you need one as the engine runs? Can you buy them?
  4. Hi, Ive just taken the engine head off to give it a clean. Is there suppposed to be a metal/paper or some other ring between the head and the engine on the hyper 7? Thanks
  5. Yeah white springs are good. Another thing i have done which really helped the handling when on tarmac is replaced the shock oil, i could'nt afford the big bore shocks so i just brought some 40W shock oil and replaced the standard stuff and it now handles 100% better. A very cheap upgrade but would definatly recommend.
  6. LOL i didnt know nitrotek was that bad they didnt know what the needles are called. If it bogs down so much when you accelerate from a stand still you cant get it going then yes i would lean the lsn very slightly justt to help. But don tune the lsn first. I had to do this. when the hyper is factory settngs i have to help it start by giving it a push just until the engine can pull the car and then its ok..
  7. Cool, i thought it might be, i might try slightly leaning the lsn and richening the HSN. I may also drill holes in and the stick some fine mesh wire on the insed to stop any big pieces of rubbish getting in. I think the tnk only lasts about 5 mins, will time it next time im out.
  8. Hi, I have finally got the hyper 7 with the .21 egine out today and stayed out until it was properly tuned and im just wondering if i can double check some things now. There is a good trail all the time when the throttle is applied, but the temperature is 120C/248f is this a bit hot? Should i drill a few holes in the front window as without the shell on it runs about 90C but with it on it goes up, would you say it goes up because its running a bit lean or becaue the shell is stopping air getting to the engine to cool it down? Before i left i cleared the engine and held the fuel line between the tank and the car, it then ran for 6 seconds, this shows its a bit rich doesnt it? Last question, how long should a tank of fuel last when racing? Thanks
  9. Thanks mine current one touches the shell but wondered if it would hurt. Whats the difference betwen these three http://modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=25296 http://modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=23017 and http://modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=23017 apart from
  10. I would try replacing the fuel tubes if you always getting air in them, its either them or the fuel tank but its prob the fuel lines. Have you done anything to break the engine in yet? You shouldnt be running at full throttle if you havnt. You prob will break it. Have you reset your failsafe? I think mine is still a bit tight at tdc. What hapens when it cuts out? Does the revs rise or anything? Or does it just bog down with fuel?
  11. May sound a stupid question but you not just giving it full throttle are you? When mines on the factory setting i literatly have to touh the throttle vary gently otherwise it bogs down, most of the times i had to give it a little push. That will be the low speed. And the high speed may be too lean if you have turned it loads and the unburnt fuel is just when your using low speed.
  12. Whats this like http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=33955 ? How much better/worse is the gv one http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=33957 Thanks
  13. Yup they are great, theres a vid somewhere of someeone driving one of a massive cliff and it only broke 1 shock or something.
  14. Thanks for the replys. I have looked at this, does it fit under you shell with room between the air filter and the shell itself as i had to buy a replacement air filter foam and that sticks out a little bit and the shell now constantly touches the air filter.
  15. After owning my hyper for about a year and a half ive finally removed the shell film and added the sticker so its shiney. Wonder how long it will stay like that . Hopefully im going to be getting my cleaner stuff and the fuel protector metal things tomorrow so will post a pic with the lid off. Edit: Does it look like its floating above the paper to anyone else? I want to get a good shot of it on grass.
  16. Is there a proper track now as if you type live maps into google and look behine what i think is a tip in birds eye view it looks like a pretty good track. If its still there is it open all the time or is it just on sundays? Might pop down on sunday if the weathers good
  17. That looks too clean , even cleaner than mine. Weve got the same servos though, im thinking of upgrading the throttle servo next to see if it improves breaks. Did you just use warm soapy water to clean the fuel tank? While im posting can i ask you if you have cut the front window out of the body shell to let some air in for the engine?
  18. Hyper 7 here as well, they are amazing things. You will probably have to replace the steering servo and springs though. Does anyone know if its still best top cut the front window out off the shell on the new models as when i was running mine in when i brought it it was recommended to cut it out otherwise the engine doesnt get enough air.
  19. Hi, Im going to be taking my hyper 7 to my local skate park to start learning how to control jumps so im trying to decide on some on road tyres for it. The hyper also gets used on tarmac quite a bit. Ive had a look at modelsports website and have found several different options. Could anyone giv me some advice on what to get, i cant really spend loads of money so if the cheap option would be as good as the more epensive option then that would be great. I will need both the tyres and wheels. First option would be Fastrax Y Spoke 1:8th Buggy Wheels X2 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=32551 With either Pro-Line Road Rage 1/8th On Road Tyre or Schumacher VENOM 114 Road Tyre - 1-8 Buggy (pr) ( these would work out cheaper but are they any good) Second option is the same using one of the tyres above but on these wheels Schumacher RevLite 1:8th Dish Wheel - White http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=27990 Third option Fastrax 1:8th Premounted Cut Tyres On Y-Spoke Wheels (White) http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=32447 This is a really cheap option as its 2 x
  20. Ive got the hyper 7 and if the 8.5 is like the 7 then its a great car, have crashed mine into things a couple of times and nothing broke. I have had to replace the standard springs and steering servo, the stock servo was ok for what i wanted but i thought i would upgrade it anyway. Im just about to upgrade the shock oil as well as it bottoms out too easily. I wonder if they have sorted all of this in the 8.5 though.
  21. if i was to get this http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=11626 How many would i need? Thanks Edit, phoned the shop and they said one might be enough but to be safe get two. And as usual i couldnt just buy the thing i wanted as i brought a couple more things that i probably didnt need . Next question is do you have to completely empty the old oil and wash it with washing up liquid to get rid of the old stuff or do you just pour it out and leave some old oil thats left stuck around the sides? The old stuff is probably a lower W.
  22. K will give it a try. Whats the best manufacturer. Modelsport uk sells Associated and Schumacher . Cheeers
  23. Hi, On my hyper 7 21 tq sport i have replaced the standard springs with the white ones but it still dips when breaking and leans when cornering too much even with the spacers. I havnt' got the £50 odd pound to get the proper shocks for it so i was wondering if just changing the oil in the shocks will help. What W oil comes with the hyper? And whats is best to have in the front and rear? Il be mainly running on grass with the occasional small jump. Thanks
  24. haha, youve got the righ idea, just ask for a car instead of money for a car. Yeah the
