  1. Wow, thats a nice bit of history you’ve got mate 👍🏼
  2. Na mate, the car was only £100. the esc is coming in between £80 - £130. to expensive for me at the moment. a fans only about a tenner 👍
  3. Cheers lads 👍 I will just screw a fan on top. The screw holes are about 25mm apart so would I get a 25mm fan or would it have to be the 30mm to compensate for the fan housing thickness ?
  4. Thanks very much guys 👍 I appreciate that glen. I thought it’s a 4s esc but looks very similar to the one in that video. The only difference I can see is the one in the video has the power switch holder attached to the side of it. My one has a separate tray the esc clips in to. there’s unfortunately no part numbers or anything left on it to identify the esc. If I can’t get a case could I still screw a fan on the top using the bolt holes on the esc ?
  5. Hi everyone, i need a bit of help please. i recently bought my son a second hand hpi trophy flux buggy. it needs a bit of TLC. We stripped it down, painted it and are almost ready to rebuild. Awaiting diff oils. the esc came with no fan or surrounding shroud/ casing. does anyone know what size of fan is needed ? The screw holes are about 25 mm. also does anyone know where i could get either the proper shroud and fan for the esc. If anyone has an old burned out one i could buy the parts i need from you ? or even the proper size of fan i need ? i am a tad confused if it would be a 25mm because of the bolt hole size or if it would be a 30mm fan because of the casing size. Thanks guys 👍🏼
  6. Hi, does anyone have an Hpi trophy buggy esc fan and shroud ? the fan and top casing part of my wee boys ones missing. Or does anyone know what i can do to make one ? thanks for your time 👍🏼
  7. Yeah mate, 6s is nuts. I haven't been able to get mine on full throttle. It either wheelies or flips. I got the wheelie bar to try and save the rear wing getting battered all the time. i need to go to a big field someday and open her up. Great fun though, i love my xtr 👍🏼 4s i think is still fast !! I find it easier to have fun with as your not on edge trying to keep it on the ground. i am 44 now and my reactions aren’t what they used to be 😂
  8. wheelie bar installed to limit inverted driving on 6s. Any more than 1/2 throttle n she was flipping. Find out at the weekend if it works and stays on 🤞🏻
  9. Hi gaz, I have an old escort cosworth in the loft. Can’t remember if it’s a ta 01 or a ta 02. The arms gearbox etc is all there if it’s any use to you. there’s no alloy parts it’s original tamiya stuff 👍
  10. Careful with that axe eugene !! 😲 it’s got the horn 😬☺️😂
  11. Better to be prepared mate 😂
  12. That’s a good point mate 🤔
  13. Thanks gaz 👍 I had never really thought of traxxas stuff but a lot of people really rate them. they seem to be tough. defo look in to them 👍 do you know I might sell you it gaz. i ordered a new chassis yesterday to keep the wee fella going. It was only £9.00. so it will be fully operational. There’s a shed load of spares and alloy upgrades in the box also. i would like to hang on to the electrics tho as we might need them for the next car he likes.
  14. Cheers lads 👍 good advice. I will give the ftx and maverick a miss then. i agree second hand would be better value for money. I will check out some tracxas and losi stuff 👍 lol, yeah I suppose your right about the wall bit. The wee man’s actually quite good with his car. To be fair to him he didn’t even hit it hard. We can’t even get a battery out it and something breaks. The look in his wee face when that happens kills me. Time to throw my childhood nostalgia for tamiya aside and get him something better. Cheers lads, appreciate all the advice and time to reply 👍
