  1. What on earth happened here?!
  2. Hello. Just taken mine out and the steering just stopped responding. I think the servo gears took a thump and locked up. But having taken the servo apart and got the gears freed up, the servo motor just isn't doing anything when I turn the wheel on the TX. New servo needed I guess, but can't see the Spektrum S614S in stock in the UK at all. Plus it's a great excuse to upgrade๐Ÿ˜‰ Appreciate I may need to change the servo saver as the Spektrum is 23T spline and everything else is 25T. Any suggestions what I should go for please?
  3. Thanks. The diff can be inserted either way around. When I bench tested I had front wheels going forward rears going back ๐Ÿ™ƒ - 20 mins later all sorted. Such a twit. Hope you get yours soon ๐Ÿคž
  4. Mini review of Vitavon axles and steering knuckles. Excellent quality, easy to fit, looks lovely (to my eyes). Only challenge was the little metal sleeve either end of the steering link (circled in pic) needed filing down, there's zero flex in the knuckle unlike the stock part. The sleeve just won't slide in. I was reluctant to get the files out but I really couldn't see any alternative. Seems fine, zero slop. The front diff did seem a teeny bit glitchy (back was fine) so I'm gonna just drive it and hope it "beds in".
  5. Brilliant timing. I was looking for a reason to pop out as the sister in law is due round. I've just done a quick preassemble and it's a bit glitchy on the front. There's maybe 0.5-1mm of play. Grease might be the answer.
  6. These arrived for the Losi LMT today. So happy barely a week after ordering. Customs sticker on the parcel in French... hmm. Came from China I thought. No matter, they are lurvely ๐Ÿ˜
  7. Ordered on Ebay 27th April, arrived today 5th May. Wasn't expecting them to arrive that quick, well happy. Need to decide what to do with my brand new unopened reinforced front axle housing set sent out under warranty. ๐Ÿค” Bit of a noob question, what grease should I chuck in there when I reassemble please?
  8. Following my post on Tuesday where I applauded Appliance Electronics for attending to my replacement axle request so positively and quickly, the promised 7-10 days turned into 2 day. It's here!! And it's ribbed for extra.... er strength. Whilst waiting, yesterday I did a follow up to AE saying, "look, don't want to push my luck but the steering link broke too". They agreed as a gesture of goodwill to organise that too. It was in the same parcel! So that took 1 day. The parcel came from Logic RC btw. In the meantime Horizon Hobby's Teddy F replied to my webform request for assistance with "Hi there, Thanks for reaching out, given your location in the UK, you will need to contact your local retailer/distributor for warranty assistance. Have a nice day!" Totally independent of all this (and ordered before I knew how great AE would be) I have Vitavon alloy axles and steering knuckles in green currently on the slow boat from China. ๐Ÿ™„
  9. Just had a response from Appliance Electronics after emailing them on Saturday about my front axle breakage. "I am sorry about this issue and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. A replacement axle will be forwarded to you within 7-10 days. Please note, the new version stronger axle will be sent out. Should you need any further assistance ..." Assuming it arrives, that'll be what I call excellent service.
  10. @Y96 who are you ordering from please? Did a search for Gareth Curtis as that's the name at the top of your screenshot and saw a gallery of unsavoury types!
  11. Fabulous, I read all about this beast before I actually joined the forum. What did you do with the stock axle parts? asking for a friend โ˜บ๏ธ
  12. Webform to Horizon done, e-m to AE done... Breath not being held
  13. Thanks, that's not altogether surprising. I think I'll do two things. I'll contact Horizon plus AE and order a new ally front. I do want to get use out of this truck and the poor little lad with me this morning was a bit disappointed we stopped so after a few mins. So I've promised a return "soon". For me it's a matter of principle, that part of the design simply isn't fit for purpose. So for the sake of some e-mails it's worth pursuing if only to see where it gets me and how long it takes. Might be an experience worth sharing.
  14. Hello all, another Grave Digger owner here. Having done much research I though the Losi LMT would be ideal for me & my grandson to play with. I was acutely aware of the axle issue, but figured I was never going to drive the thing like Kevin T does!. This morning was the big day but alas a few minutes in after a relatively modest jump into some scrub at the side of the disused golf course tee,...crack! The steering link broke too. Grrrr. So there's two options for aluminium, Vitavon or Treal. Or indeed just order the same parts. However as Losi have upgraded and strengthened the axle now based on the fact they clearly realise the design is inadequate, I really think I should try & get it replaced at their expense. Although clearly an ally upgrade eventually is inevitable. I bought the car from Appliance Electronics, and I registered with Horizon Hobby in the states. Who should I approach do you think please guys? Or am I wasting my time and I should just bite the billet (see what I did there?).
  15. Thanks. Oh yes a lot has changed, particularly the ease & scope to spend! But I doubt after this initial outlay I'll spend much for a while* *Reliability of statements like this may fluctuate.
