  1. Still holding off for foams as got some rubber tires that should be good for 100mph, did you get damp compound foams or 35sh? How did it get on with the stock tires or have they already peeled off? Looking forward to seeing how it runs on brushless.
  2. It is, honestly its a very small motor with tons of power but if you can get a longer can version go for one of those. I can vouch for the 3652 and 3656 motors being very good! It is cant go wrong with a max 10 combo, imo they are bomb proof. Also I would get the programming card, i got the usb one as it works with pretty much everything and can do it on the pc too. Ive used and use the 3652 motor in my outlaw, trx4, drift car / speed runner 40mph + from it, and even in my crawler, they are good all rounders. 2s lipo is the sweet spot 3s lipo is bonkers. I have used the 3652 motor with the max 10 and max 10SCT up to 4s on my crawled outlaw. The SCT has much more punch even on level 1 than the max10 so less low end modulation. The motor is not rated for 4s also but seemed to be ok, bare in mind the really low gear ratio so the motor was screaming not under heavy loads. Took the outlaws out for a quick walk, the road hog was actually really fun on the sand and grass, didnt roll on the roads today (changed the layout) and was pretty fast... i wonder how fast 🤔 fastest outlaw on grass i think was 54mph on 3s with stock wheels.
  3. Your dc1 got its servo on axle, how come? Does it work better? whats in the spot the servo should go, another winch? 😀
  4. I would not waste a peny on alloy body posts, they will bend and snap, stick with the 1£ plastic ones that bend back and can take a hit. Same for the shock tower as all the forces from the body post and body go into the tower they should flex. Just my 2c
  5. Nice to see your benchmark speed, sure you will crack 50 with the new motor, then i think you will need to look at gearing to push it to 70, goodluck and staying tuned!
  6. Honestly ive fond the body to be worth every penny, the bodies are very very tough, well mine is and hasnt cracked. even crashing full pelt into a car, fine.
  7. A body! Only the bronco and chev bodies fit the premium kit. Upgrade out the box, metal servo horn thats about it. Bronco fits kit fine, not sure about chev if it needs the narrow mudgards / fenders.
  8. Spliced some cap packs to the speed runner's esc's.
  9. As the batteries arrived, thought i would see if they fit as begun to think they might be to deep. 4s yet to be tested but getting decent mha 4s batteries in these little cars seems tricky, I went with 2x 100c 4s 1600mha drone / flight packs. They just fit. There is literally 2mm space before they would be hitting the top brace, got lucky. I will run them in parallel to make 3200mha should be enough for a good couple of runs and hoping having it drain from 2 battery sag will be minimal. Time will tell.
  10. This thread has valuable information regardless Jack, im glad you asked the question. I didnt know the other hobaos arnt as well built as my old one. I didnt know the typon had a kinda cheap version, i forgot it had plastic diffs 🤮 Theres value in the thread and its informative to others, even if you didnt get what you was after i think it was still constructive toward the forum. 👍 The search continues for the perfect car for Jack. maybe it could be a boat? 😂
  11. To fit in the bigger pinion need to cut the chassis a bit here. The Traxxas spur didnt hold up as good i had hoped, might have a nother couple of runs in it, its a tad deeper than a stock one so cant use slipper pads. or the shaft pins wouldnt hold the slipper plates. Might need to find a new way delivering the power to the drive cups, this driveshaft is going to be a failurepoint, not sure if it was damaged from the run, but as i held it in the air and spun the car up to see how the tires react at near max rpm, i noticed the car vibrate then it got worse and worse. No more speed runs for a little bit. Good start and impressed it handeled the power its already been fed.
  12. Could be water in the RX, open it up disconned the leads and let it dry out, wouldnt advise hair dryer that will just evaporate the surface water not water that has ingressed in, if the motor is beeping the esc might be fine.
  13. High speed gears arrived, no other changes, hit 61mph on 3s with ease didnt even get close to maxing it at most this was 60 - 70 throttle. New personal best, 9mph off the target, easily will do 70+ without any further changes. 4s is the next step along with motor timing changes, will post updated build pics later. Edit: Some tastey data. Chuffed to bits 🙂
  14. As the box is opened would you mind posting a picture of the truck please?
  15. That sounds spot on, i think the lads next car will be one of those buggies then, if its oho strong it should be strong enough haha
  16. Chassis can understand, plastic drive shafts and shocks i can not, these take lots of presure and torque and i see them snapping fairly easily, or is this not the case? Why are the hobao's metal if plastics better?
  17. That looks pretty good, how tough are these for mild jumping? vs the higher end Arrma buggies? Seeing lots of plastics, shocks, driveshafts, that worries me.
  18. for sure, i might be completely off park and always good to get others opinions because i only have my experience to go from, the more advice the better informed your decision can be. heres what your looking at min spec imo https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobao-hyper-vs-1-8-buggy-electric-roller/rc-car-products/396617 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=397267 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=447265 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/etronix-30-3kg-0-09s-standard-digital-servo-metal-gear-high-voltage-waterproof/rc-car-products/433049 2 batteries 1 for when you run out or run them both for some 6s bonkers ness cost 500 fun points. Anything less is not worth the money imo, something will break or melt leaving you out of pocket and wishing you had put aside that extra 100 maybe.
  19. That esc will work but the motor you have is to small imo. It will get cooking hot. The man speaks true with bang for buck tho.
  20. haha im an idiot i thought this was for the outlaw ofc it wont work, ok so you can screw them onto the battery tray with with a screw and washer or your metal might be a good idea just got to be careful of it rubbing though, use foam to keep your batteries happy. Little L shaped braket might also work, make a hole big enought for the battery plate post and use the pin to hold it in, ill fabricate some to experiment as i have the same issue with the banzia, its the same chassis
  21. you know im going to reply a we have been discussing this, so sharing here too. 1. yes hobao are strong, my old hyper 7 has never failed me 2. it wont run on 2 lipo it will be to slow for its size see p3. 3. it wont work ezrun max 8 is min spec for this chassis imo 4. the above isnt a go and you will get 20mph out of it at best the esc will pop. 4a. if you go with min spec you can expect 25-30mph on 3s 40+ of 4s and as the max 8 takes 6s 50mph+ Im sure there are budget bangood esc and motor combo will get you over 25mph but you want a 42 can motor 36 motors are just to small imo. All i hear from model shops is my banggood esc has exploded and the company says you can fix it, (er no the capacitors are completely peeled open). Thus i avoid, you dont want to spend a nice quid on a good chassis then fill it with poopy electrics imo.
  22. I had hit and miss with straps, i got some i thought would be long enough and they were not, the ftx ones rip were they are sewn together, so now ive switched to these and have had no issues. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/rw-tapes-straps/rc-car-manufacturers/48/9980/998045 The 120 straps are long enough for 3s when you hook them over the top loops. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/rw-hook-loop-fastener-straps-for-saddle-lipo-battery-packs/rc-car-products/437003
  23. Longer straps, yes you should use the lipo bag its better than nothing, however the best protection for a lipo fire is not leaving them alone. A lipo bag is minimal protection as the heat / fire still escapes and damages stuff around it.

    Arrma Limitless

as no one else with a thread looking for a limitless seemed to get one or a reply, i figured there was a reason no one is letting theirs go, please close thread thank you.
