  1. Tbf to @Lone-wolf , .....I don't sleep with 20 year old ladies but I still like to look to see what I'm missing. 😁 Regarding the XRT I think it looks good but for some reason I was kind of hoping it was a large buggy rather than truggy. I think it will do well as they usually do. Looks like it will be a good large scale platform and nice to see they're including the "optional speed gearing".
  2. Just found @furycreates video channel for those interested. https://www.youtube.com/c/FuryCreates/videos
  3. Welcome aboard. Be interesting to see pictures when you start your project Escudo.
  4. The vents actually come pre-cut from Arrma like that but that's the way I like them too as will help aid cooling I'm sure as well giving the air a good escape route from the shell at high speed.
  5. Thanks. Pictures don't do it justice as it is much brighter in person. Needs to be so I can see it as far away as possible for speed running. 😉
  6. Just finished a new shell for my Arrma Typhon. Used Fastrax chrome paint for the hexagons and the rest was done with Tamiya PS24 (fluorescent orange), PS27 (fluorescent yellow) and PS1 (white) to back it all.
  7. Ahh bummer. You could always try to snipe in at the last few seconds of the auction ~ the CVD's are over £50 alone so still a good deal. 😉 Last 15 minutes odd now.
  8. Got a good deal on some from eBay ~ HRB lipo's that have been good so far. Also another recommendation for CNHL batteries. Good service from them, they're also having sales or discount codes etc and the lipos work well. Link: https://chinahobbyline.com/?fbclid=IwAR2qT8zqERrSIEBs2sxOAITH7vCdGdRc_cOeLXnv2uyBKbUH72_EpdBAN6A

  17. @Tron1000good stuff, ...it's addictive chasing speed. Have a look at ROSSA on Facebook if you're enjoying the speed running game. Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1641915416068313 Any ideas what tyres you're going to try to use on grass? You can use fishing wire to help stop ballooning and if the tyres aren't belted then you could turn them inside out & use thick gaffa tape to try to make a basic belt inside the tyre yourself.
  18. What are you using to test these speed readings please or is it more of a guesstimate? Not that I don't believe you but I've been speed running a 6S Typhon since 2018 so have a lot of experience running mine. With the standard 6S BLX ESC, motor, spur gear and centre diff using a 23T pinion on road using a 6S battery I recorded first time out 65mph odd (withGRP tyres). Could of pushed it further like that but changed out my centre diff to a spool using a 38T spur gear and a 34T pinion gear which got me straight away a new PB at the time of 76mph. Kept that gearing/set up for a long time and just practiced my trigger pulls as well as trying different roads/distances to see how far I could get like that. Got me just shy of 100mph at 99mph as the ESC kept cutting. In the end I changed the ESC to a Castle Mamba Monster 2 which was what it needed to push passed 100mph. Have a read here of my build thread on the Arrma forum in case it helps you with your own Typhon: https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/speed-runner-typhon-6s-uk-built-fast-not-bought-fast.10482/ It's a lot quicker than that nowadays though. 😉
  19. Welcome aboard. Now don't get me wrong because I do love Tamiya RC cars and building them but they're not the strongest of RC's to use. Just something to bare in mind. Great cars to start with though definitely and a fairly budget friendly option.
  20. Hitting 62 is a lot different to hitting a ton. You can do it though I'm sure and the Typhon is a good platform to use for speed runs, ...have you modified it at all? You'll have to change at least the ESC imho to break the ton as well as gears obviously. Tyre ballooning will also become an issue at those speeds.
  21. I think you're going to struggle to find some. I mean doesn't mean you won't but they are rare now. Same front spiked tyres were on the Madcap (which I had), Bearhawk (my brother had) and the Astute I believe ~ part number Tamiya 53048. Tamiyabase site: https://tamiyabase.com/parts/1513 On eBay now (absolutely bonkers price): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295199798462?hash=item44bb4774be:g:zOUAAOSw045i9~2Q&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoDLNz2%2F9XoVNWXjTkg3BjWgYRj02nzy%2BBRJEgybxmTCrmFfJK%2FuBvxLgW511WsoU4c0sxJgbt3OqnqTO%2B%2FEdzASSBfr5LeWmb1WgV5ZUQWx5wHN%2BhWB5op3tiVhjmrwaNVr6gK8ybBZaKq6chXRg68MupI1aJG1ZtaS9hgoEQamm7HUah4IiPDkjkjWI0ev3ce483kC6uGiwMjc3yqK3AA4%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_j275njYA Some tyre talk here that may interest you and it maybe a worthwhile forum for you to join & search: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/77824-madcap-astute-front-tire-id-help/ Try asking Tony at "Tony's Tamiya Spares" as he maybe able to point you in the right direction or possibly have an alternative: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/tonystamiyaparts?norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-153696-560033-8&mkcid=2&keyword=&crlp=597787094877_&MT_ID=&geo_id=&rlsatarget=dsa-764521878456&adpos=&device=c&mktype=&loc=1007415&poi=&abcId=&cmpgn=2033188068&sitelnk=&adgroupid=71572595973&network=g&matchtype=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_u6MpsSD-gIVEevtCh1jdQCJEAAYASAAEgKEh_D_BwE
