  1. I've got another fpv build upcoming, but not a quad.

I've always wanted to fpv one of my rc cars.

The plan is use one of the walksnail avatar digital systems I have, moonlight 4k or v2 pro with a Caddx gm3 gimbal. It's a three way gimbal that works with the walksnail goggles x. The really cool thing is the head tracking.

When you move your head around you can set the gimbal to match and you can look around.

I'm not sure what to do first, a crawler or basher.

The crawler is going to be capra axles and cage.

The cage will be better for mounting the gimbal, camera, vtx, antennas and flight controller. And the cage panels can be removed or trimmed down for better visibility.

The basher is going to be a FTX DR8, main reason is the cage again for mounting / protecting the fpv equipment.

I'm waiting on the gimbal and then it's starting to building.

@Stormbringer No mate, I ordered another from the UK from hobbyrc yesterday. Hobbyrc are brilliant for getting your order out fast.

I'll have to see what happens with the other.

I didn't want to wait a few more weeks.

A setup video. It really does look cool.

I keep changing my mind but I think I'm going to do a crawler first.

  2. Built another quad.

Dji 04 on a quadmula Djiin frame.

I'm really liking the smaller 2-3" for ripping around garden size areas.

Came in at 247 grams so I might just squeeze a mini GPS in.

    Djiin 04 Djiin 04 Djiin 04

As usual I get a build ready for a test and it's raining outside.

cool steep yeah those Tattu lipos are awesome 👍use the r line 3s ones great run times get about 3mins on full pelt with 550mahs GMBs from hobby rc was pretty good for budgets ones too 👍

@Bajadre Three minutes on full pelt🤟

When people ask how long the battery last they can look unimpressed. They don't understand it's an intense adrenaline rush.

I'm really loving the little rippers.

I picked up a cheap frame from aliexpress to do a 2.5" walksnail 1s vtx build (The v3 can take 13v) rcinpower 1303 motors on 3s.

I think it weighs about 100 grams without a battery so I'll put a vifly mini finder and mini GPS.

It rips and has pretty good hang time so you can practice freestyle in your garden or smaller spaces.

Had a couple of batteries this morning with the nice weather.

Changed the props to some HQ.

I was getting a lot of juddering off throttle.

      The HQ props sorted it.

I'm going to change that battery strap, it's too long for the Tattu batteries.

  3. Been fairly busy with this cute little dude...

Volador builds & Benny Volador builds & Benny Volador builds & Benny Bella, Benny & Ralph Bella, Benny & Ralph

He's 11 weeks old, called Benny. He's confident and unbelievably well behaved so far for a puppy.

He's now got a thing for going after my tiny whoops.

Cats can be so good at keeping dogs in their place

  4. Just checked my email and I got a dispatched email from modelsport.

Hobao hyper tt2.0 is on the way!

I've got a few different motor and esc's to try.

    Pretty quick servo, I think it's 0.8 on 7.4v.

A set of the older version Proline badlands and trenchers.

Hello, how are you finding the TT then, have u had much chance to run it? Thoughts on the electric setup, fast enough? Close to ordering one just want to hear from someone who actually has one. Cheers

      @GasmanDom

I've had 2s lipo run outside.

With the surpass 4300kv it's reasonably quick on 2s.

The motor is a bit coggy for my liking. Just a cheap motor I had spare.

I'm going to fit a hobbywing Xerun 3656 motor.

On 3s it will be quick enough for me.

      If you're after a 1/10 truggy, you'll like the Tt2.0. Great handling.

What are you thinking, the roller or rtr?

    4. GasmanDom

      GasmanDom

Thanks for the info, definitely the roller, but I've just checked and Modelsport are now out of stock 🙈! Am trying to decide best electronics for a 3s setup, was thinking hobbywing 120 esc but wasn't sure on motor and servo yet so waiting to see what everyone else does

  5. Well after posting a picture of my tinyhawk freestyle yesterday, this happened....

Completely my fault. I changed the connector to a xt30 to run a single 2s lipo instead of two 1s lipos.

I should of made the pigtail shorter.

I looped the battery strap around the battery wires and connector and the battery must have come lose.

I looked for it before it went dark but couldn't find it.

I was gutted, only done about 6 batteries.

I watched the crash over and over trying to work out where it landed.

I noticed it landed / bounced off a pitched slate roof which narrowed it down, all the other roofs are asbestos.

Got up early, and found the quad, a bit wet, visually looks like very little damage. All the props look good.

This is were I've been really lucky, the battery wasn't attached but was only two feet away.

The electronics could be dead as they spent a night outside in the damp weather.

But, hopefully after a few days drying out there's a chance it may be OK 🫰

Gave the tinyhawk freestyle a test today.

Bloody well chuffed, everything works and no nasty crash marks, even the props are good.

Well worth waiting a few days for it to dry properly.

It's not going out until the additional battery strap arrives.

  6. Got slapped with a 75 quid bill from customs🤬

I probably shouldn't moan. I've had loads from aliexpress without any charges.

      Thanks for the information 👍

It's now looking like Yodel have lost the batteries 🤦

They had to be shipped separately.

Royal mail delivered Wednesday and that was after it sat  in customs for about three days and then in the local delivery office for two days.

The tracking says "we've got it" and hasn't updated for a week. I usually get the delivery by then.

Same thing with me at the moment mate, Yodel tracking says "we've collected your item"... that was a week ago....nothing since !! 🙄

@Yorkshireman They usually swear blind they haven't lost it right until they tell you it's gone missing.

  7. Got a little holystone hs210 quad for practicing flying.

Really good fun until I dropped it in the dogs drinking bowl 🫣

I pulled the battery out ASAP and it's hanging up to dry for a day or so 🫰

      The little quad works👍

Best thing to do after a drowning, leave it to dry out properly and hope for the best.

I even made some gates out of cardboard, got em hanging from the kitchen ceiling.

  8. Ordered a rc boat from aliexpress.

Never had one don't really know much about them or where you can use them.

No doubt the 11th commandment will be useful for that (thou shall not get caught).

      @Andy-Roo@Andy-Roo 😂

It turned up last week. Looks good for the money. It's got a brushless outrunner and take a 3 cell😆. It's easy big enough for a gopro.

I'll have to get it to a small lake nearby.
