  1. Anyone else have experience of the Hong nor force .21 engine? Have seen reviews about the .28 but nothing on the .21?
  2. Thanks for reply, have seen quite a few posts saying 21 is ideal for a buggy and 28 better for truggy maybe. Thanks i will take a look at the other engines 👍 Thanks for reply, have seen a few reviews saying the same and being a nitro newbie i am definitely looking for easy as possible to tune while i learn ha ha . Thanks for your help
  3. Hi everyone, I am looking for a new engine for a hyper 7 and am hoping for a bit of advice as i am new to nitro. I will only be using this for a bit of fun at the park or bmx track etc so wont get used to hard and wont be doing any racing so not looking to spend to much but have been thinking something along the lines of a Force 21 or maybe 28. I have done a bit of research on here and looked at reviews on modelsport and wheelspin models and they seem to have mostly good reviews but thought its worth an ask on here before i buy. Would these Force engines be ok for a newbie to nitro and not to problematic or hard to tune or hold a tune? Or is there any other engines i should look at? Also should i go for a 21 over the 28 or vise versa? Being new to nitro i really want something that's easy to tune etc. 🙂
  4. Ok will have to see what happens when drive it hopefully this week when fuel turns up. Do you have any idea what oil weight should be in these as doesnt say in the manual and am thinking mite be worth a change anyway.
  5. Will keep a look out for more clips then, so is it normal for them to be like this with no clips in ? Just seem a bit odd to me, the rear rises back up slowly but front just stays on the floor lol
  6. The rear arms end up dead level and the front almost level
  7. Thanks for reply 👍 i only have 4 of the 2mm spacers but i did try putting them all on the front but it didnt make any difference.
  8. Hey everyone, I recently bought a used hobao hyper 7 TQ sport to scratch a nitro itch i have had for years now but when checking it over have noticed a possible problem with the front suspension. When the car is on the ground and you push down on the front end it doesn't spring back up at all it just stays compressed and you have to lift it back up by hand, I have removed the shocks today and cant see anything wrong at all there is plenty of oil inside and nothing is bent or leaking.I gave them both a bleed to remove any air but is still the same.It has the standard grey springs fitted .Surely thats not how they should be is it?
  9. Yes i had a good look at that and searched the thread aswell to see what others are running but decided to go for standard parts for now, i will be upgrading the brushed firestorm at some point though and will be using one of the cheaper combo's in that once i have had a chance to look into them more
  10. Yeah i was pretty gutted tbh but never mind its all good now .All the best with your new toy mate
  11. I bought a second hand one which i thought was a good deal but on its first run it became pretty obvious after just a min of running that either the motor or esc was junk so i had to bite the bullet and just replace both which has ended up costing as much as a new one would have. Never mind tho i am happy now lol
  12. Thanks, I am sure you will love yours, i hope you have better look than i did when i took mine out the first time but now i couldnt be happier with it. They really are fun trucks. Enjoy
  13. Took the firestorm flux out yesterday for the first time since i bought it secondhand after finding out it needed a new motor and esc, got to say it put a huge smile on my face and i am really happy with it now,I love this truck and its so much faster than the brushed version. Thanks to all those who helped me out with my many questions
  14. I was in your position this time last year, i had a tamiya toyota celica as a kid and wanted to get another off road rc to get my 5year old nephew into a hobby. I did lots looking around and setteld on the hpi firestorm mainly thanks to reading this whole thread. I wanted the flux version for myself but setteld on the brushed version as it was mostly going to be used by a 5yo and all i can say is im very glad i went with the firestorm, i think its a very good strong truck. The first thing he did with it was run it into sevral concrete bolards at full speed and the only damage was a few scrathes to the body and to this day he or i still havent broken anything. I am so pleased with it that i have just bought the flux version for myself but i bought second hand and thought i had got a bargain but turns out i hadnt lol,and i had to replace the motor and esc so now i wish i bought the flux new and then i would have the nice 2year warranty so leason learned there. If i was you i would buy the flux because i think you will soon want the extra power so mite aswell spend that bit more to begin with instead of uprating later and this way you will have hpi 2year warranty if anything should go wrong. Definatly get the t-bone bumpers and wheelie bar, they are great and will save you breaking parts im sure. They also have a lifetime warranty. I have them on both my firestorms now,the last set came just last week and cost me
