  1. Got a nice hyper 7 off here Thinking of putting nice sticky road tyres on the hyper 7 as its bit low for grass and dont fancy running her on sand
  2. Hey all thanks for taking the time too read this. After a cheap jato with either engine or just roller too do a brushless project on. When I first got my hyper st 8 years ago. Seen a lad with a jato and it was mega fast (oone of first nitro rc's I seen going) and it's always stuck in my mind and half weighing it up I'm in north west area and maybe able too work out some sort of deal . Thanks

  4. I've got my hyper st set up with esc and motor too take 6cell but would be crazy power haha. But I'd trust the stock transmission on it
  5. If they want it they will get it... you just slow them down. Locks only stop the honest That's style of lock can usually be destroyed with a few well places hammer blows. The laminated steel layers usually come apart making it fall apart. And the long u swapped shank makes it sooo easy to get bolt cutters in. Something like a solid abus lock or even the ones you see on bike chains seem to serve well. Soem have armor coming up the sides a long way. And no matter how big you make the lamps on the shed. The corners tend to be weak. We had a shed that got attempted to get broken into so we put nice big metal lasps on... few weeks later they came back and pried the whole front off the shed! So you could also check yours and secure a nice thick bit of wood in corners to tie the sides of the shed on better and around doorway. Its kind of a never ending story really just pretend you've lost the keys and think... how could I get into this shed now.. you can only slow them down Good deterant are dumby cameras that can be bought cheap

I've always used 5.5 (I think) castle bullets from the start but recently got wound up more and more at the wire moving separately looking a mess in my eyes so just converted all my stuff too these hobby king HXT 4mm they come in big pack at Good value Just one plug for switching batteries around now and charging them. The only hiccup I had was putting them on the wirring going too my 150 a hobby wing esc but the battery leads go on easy enough Edit note ! Just remember too put the plastic part on BEFORE the bullets haha
  7. Thanks I did way up gasket and paper but thoguht grease would be best around outputs and bearings but could be easily replaced
  8. Today I stripped my rear end. Given a good clean out (8 years of crud built up) put fresh 60k diff oil in and put some waterproof grease in the diff housing area (I didn't know what to put in so figured this is better than nothing. Please say if I'm wrong) A quick test around garden seems like she is allot more balanced and tail wants to step out for once While I was at it couldn't help but make the rear brace look abit nicer and shinier hehe 1 of the teeth was missing on the rear diff crown wheel too so gonna start looking for new diffs somewhere in preparation for when it goes big time

Took the rear end off the hyper st today and give the read diff a GOOD clean out and put 60k diff oil in it for the first time and also while I was at it made my rear brace look abit more machined and shinier. 8 years of crud built up inside the diff isn't pretty (give myself a slap for it) After a Quick test run around back garden the hyper seems allot more balanced and tail wants to step out for first time
  10. I was going to put battery on the left but would mean messing with the servo mounting and mounting the reciever . He's getting a fly sky reciever soon so thought best do the whole rearrange at once. Only 2 clips hold the whole left side of things onto the chassis. So is easy too clean too
  11. Thanks I was worried about the weight on one side but after trying. It does sit level and handel well. I didn't want to spend vast amount of time on it to find out me mate wasn't going too keep it for long. Letting him have a good bash with it then letting him make his mind up after a while. If he wants too keep then I will do a re arange with better layout I was stuck for time too get it done and back for him. Limited work time on it. Pluss does anyone know what Base the chassis is as I only know it's a hpi and old lol
  12. Now you got me worrying about my spark plug getting dinged on a good roll over haha. I can never get head over just how robust these things are considering their size and the amount they weigh

  14. Well if you jump on the m53 and follow it right the way along till you get too new brighton /wallesy come off. Take the first exit on roundabout and follow the road for about 1 and half miles you'll get too the sea front. Soon as you get too sea front you just turn right and there are 3 BIG fields there that had bit of natural undulation and the grass is always well kept and short. I've never caught anyone there but there's a group of lads go there on Sundays during the afternoon with their rc's and heard they are sound
  15. I've got hyper st& 7 and hpi baja. New brighton is good for flat spot and good dirty tracks in bromborough
  16. I have a st and hyper 7. The St I bought new 8 years ago and recently converted to brushless as the engine was the only weak part about it. Bullet proof big rig. That's never let me down. Own a 7 for a few months seems to be very robust too. Brushless aswell. This is better handling than the St but the St can take longer grass and more lumpy ground

  18. I was wanting too keep much standard as possible for now. He'll be wanting controller and receiver soon as they are old crystal type. Pluss i suspect the servo won't last long as the throttle servo broke while I was standing. Me thinks when I change them I might re arange. The esc is double sided taped down and the trimmed out original battery tray is a hollow shell pinning esc down and as bit of a splash guard( motor and esc are waterproof anyways ) If I was putting battery on other side. I'd have too alter servo location too I should point out the body sticks out past the wheels anyways so although the battery sticks past the chassis it's not very bad
  19. There's the St after her rebuild. Looking allot cleaner. The proline tyres along with oiled axles make hell of a difference like a whole different truck. But only had 5 mins of use today as the motor come 9ut of mesh with tthe drive only 2 bolts I didn't check after first 2 rruns... typical lol
  20. Scratch made battery box and scratch made motor mount. I refitted rollover bar right at back to run the motor wires over the top and keep them secure pluss i thoguht it made the car look more standard Just so you all know. It was made for practicing with milling machine and not just buying parts and help too keep costs down. Motor mount was made with a large degree of adjustment for different pinnion combos
  21. This is all complete hobbyking 80 amp turnigy combo and about 3200kv motor running 15 tooth pinion (I guessed. Maybe gonna try a slightly bigger pinnion . Its not short on power on 2 cell lipo's

  23. There is indents too drill all holes and a drill bit pluss drill bit driver also supplied. I drilled most holes with the driver but then thoguht too use my little dremil but be warned to use dremil on low speed and clean drill bit after each hole. One hole caught up with swarf and made the hole too big drop of glue worked though lol. Supplied Allen key worked the treat I used the nut runner as a bearing press. Fitted perfectly (iit's surprising how hard you have to press the bearings too fit them ) I'm thinking of maybe making a truck man top on back of it too give bit more battery space . Or even a roll over hoop on back
