ok guys i know its bit late now but wondered which pension provider you all use? my company is using peoples pension. i am trying to get one with good return.
-
If it's a work place pension then I think your employer picks the provider however you should be able to pick the funds that they invest into. I'd suggest a work place due to the tax benefits and the fact your employer has to make a legal contribution. You can also merge multiple work places pensions if you change job as well. My favourite I've been with is Aviva mainly because they have a nice app 🤣
-
awesome! cheers mate, just trying t sort my pension out before its too late.
i have always been slow on sorting things out, so far i only have 1500 in my oension and compare to other people i have asked at work, they all have at least 40k, when asked how they got hat much, they simply said they have been putting their spare cash into it manually.

ok guys, the time has finally come. i really want to learn how to solder and i will be getting this:

Your joints are dry meaning that the solder didn't heat up and flow. A good iron and solder makes life much easier, solder normally had flux in it which helps with this however you can buy flux paste and apply it. I'd order some 12awg cable and some cheap bullet connectors and just practice. PCB soldering isn't easy and until you can get the solder flowing on larger parts you'll struggle with the small stuff.

anyone know if its possible to trasnfer save games from old profile to new profile? its for xbox 360.
-
You can buy an adapter that lets you swap your data over between consoles. When I went from my 360 elite to a 360 slim I used the below - https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail?id=s360datans&sku=s360datans
If it's between profiles on the same console then try -
hope that helps

nice one @Alex97 🙂

Hey guys just got myself a contract sim but I ordered a 1 month contract instead if 12 or 24 month one. Any differences in them or should I just cancel it and get a 12 or 24 month one?

A one month contract? Do you mean like a rolling monthly thing? Where you can opt out when you want rather than being tied into 12month+ contract?
I think thats what I've got with giffgaff at the moment.
It works for me but I already own my phone. I'm just paying a low monthly amount. .
It all depends on what you're actually wanting or needing
-
To be honest I'm not if the rolling contracts do help with your credit score or not. Thats definitely one to google.
If you're looking to build your credit rating then yeah, traditionally 12 month+ phone contracts were always a good way of doing it (as long as you can afford it)
Its always worth googling different ways to build your credit score. There might be easier ways of building it than getting yourself into a long phone contract

tbf when you applly for a forkie job show them your cert froggy as you will have to do there in house training usually for there insurance ive found, ive worked in different places where there happy for you to have the cert and some make you take the refresh test again ie theroy and the practical which usually involves chicane pallet test and putting loaded pallet on different racking heights 👍 have my reach/counter balance and offroad certs
-
The company I used to work for before retiring, would put all new forklift driver employees through a in house refresher course, even if they'd taken a refresher course from somebody else the day before they where employed by us. Though they wouldn't employ anybody to drive forklifts who didn't have a valid active license to drive them - as in you'd need to have done a refresher course before we would consider employing you to drive a forklift, and would also expect you to have counter balance as well as off road. It was a property developer I used to work for, so forklifts weren't just used indoors in warehouses, but also out doors off road on work sites/construction sites.
And no, we never raced them around warehouses or work sites, as that would be against the almighty OHSR, and I wouldn't do anything to upset those lot.

anyone know anywhere i can get a free tv with phone contract?
-
Have a look here, towards the bottom of the page, there are a number of selections of free TVs with mobile phone contracts. Be warned it's cheaper by far to buy the TV separately ads to get the ''free'' TV you will be on quite an expensive mobile contract for quite a few years up to 48 months from what I've seen.
-
It's not a cheap way to get a ''free'' TV with a mobile phone, but Sky do their Sky Glass subscription service, you can combine it with a mobile and broadband package for a better price, a few mates of mine do that. I don't recommend it unless you're a big watcher of Sky, as it works out a lot cheaper in the long run to just buy a TV and mobile handset outright up front, and get a sim only contract.
-
And just a heads up, a family member I'm helping out of a very bad financial situation was turned down by Sky due to their frankly appalling credit rating - its was in the single digits when we tried to get a Sky mobile contract for them. And another mate of mine, who no doubt has a far far better credit rating than my relative's, was also recently turned down by Sky for their Sky Go subscription service due to having a bad credit rating - they tried to get on it after my relative and I tried unsuccessfully to get my relative a mobile contract with Sky.

finally been approved for a credit card, been trying for years 😄

does anyone know how long till they get their cheque for tax rebate?
i rang up for mine just end of march.

-
Hey guys, anyone know alot about tax? I am thinking about having 2 jobs. All I know is anything after 12k annually then will need to pay tax. The job I have got now is only part time at night and I want a day job. Right now I get just 12k.

Hey guys, could anyone recommend a decent cage thermometer for my gerbils cage please?
Many thanks guys 🙂
-
I know its not what you asked for, but I just got an old fish tank and filled it with sawdust. Threw some bedding material in and they just had a whale of a time dragging it all down and you can see their little tunnel systems and rooms. Although the missus (who was away for the week) was not too pleased as said tank was 6ft x 2ft x 2ft in size. Oh well...that's what happens if you leave me on my own.

I just use the cheapo ones off E-Bay. They are accurate enough for the sort of temps I need for reptiles. I have 2 as it's important to have a temperature gradient to allow the animals to find an area to suit them. My Milk snake, for example, prefers a cooler vivarium, and only sleeps over the heat mat on cold nights. The mat has a thermostat, but I want to measure the ambient temps just above the surface. I put one towards each end.
I don't know how temperature sensitive gerbils are, but as they are warm blooded...they do have some ability to regulate their own temperatures, whereas reptiles are totally reliant on their environment.

hi guys, hope everyone is ok 🙂
i was just wondering if you all use a torque wrench on a simple job like changing the rear shock absorbers? i am about to change the absorber in an hour.
i was hoping i could get away with it with just a normal spanner.

The insurance side is the easy bit. I have had a couple of the years but you do get quite a lot of stories of people getting non OEM screens of perhaps a lesser quality. Really modern cars can also be a pain if they have multiple cameras/systems etc and bizarrely some even have to go back to a dealership for calibration if you swap the screen!
My last one the guy was really good but didn't put one of the wipers back quite right which I didn't realise until a few weeks later when I had to use them.
Obviously your screen need replacing, but I would just check everything over if you have auto lights/wipers or any camera systems to make sure all is ok before they disappear.
