  1. Has it got instruction book or not, doesn't matter if it hasn't, is it fully working gps etc.
  2. Yep it's to lean mate, back it off a bit
  3. Look in the sticky at the top of the page in nitro section of factory needle settings the mach .28 will be in there mate.
  4. Maybe a tad rich on the lsn or if your hsn is to rich this can also make the lsn a bit rich, remember a cold engine is always richer until warmed up, the hsn gets the fuel 1st so if that's rich it will make your lsn a bit richer, same if the hsn is to lean it will make the lsn a tad leaner, this is why you tune the hsn 1st, then lsn, the lsn is normally set ok when the revs just start to raise on tick over, then you can set the idle speed back down again, hope this helps you out.
  5. Hi guys ain't been on for ages, so me & my lad both have nitro cars I've been doing it for years, he bought a nanda .21 buggy & we broke it in at home on lockdown, so today we took it out to tune it, now this is what is foxing me, hsn is set perfect but the lsn needs to be screwed all the way in & then it's still to rich, will stall if you nail it after 5 secs of idle, ive stripped carb down cant find nothing wrong, all sealed up, surely if it had an air leak I would have to richen it, I've searched on the internet & its happened to 2 other people with same model & sh 21 engine but they couldn't work it out either, might have to try another carb, never had this symptom before on a nitro & I've had my fair share of engines.
  6. Yep there mean't to scream so long as your engine has a plummet of smoke flat out your in the safe zone I have never tuned by temp always by sound and smoke.
  7. Could be from landing upside down and making motor back pop out a little or may need calibrating to do this put it in expert mode left stick down and across to the right with that stick held in thst postion wiggle the right stick left to right several times the led blue lights should flash the gyro is now calibrated, if it is your motor binding take prop off pull motor out be careful not to snap wires thrn get somesnip nose pliers and press the bottom of the motor back in i think there is a tutorial on youtube if your not to sure mate.
  8. Hi mate welcome to the forum, i may sound like im putting you off a build but seriously buy a cheap quadcopter like i have a hubsan or a v949 which is a bit bigger, believe me you will crash and these models are great for learning the controls and cheap to fix, when you can fly it with confidence may take up to a month to master the controls then like me which i am gonna do by all means build one, i would hate it if you built it and by having no experience crash it and put you off the hobby of flight, the little hubsan is a blast around the house, 4 channels take a while to master, i would start by flying it facing away from you so left is left forward is forward etc, master the controls and how the quad reacts they are very sensitive, then in an open area face it towards you so left is right forward is backward thats when your brain starts really thinking master all of that then you will be ready for the big boys toy, im waiting to get bank funds upso i can build mine but got family holiday to oay for lol.
  9. Lol i know he will whip my butt, in the winter i use the kitchen and get crap all over her fresh table cloth oh if looks could kill, i would love to build a quad but its having time to do it and also im saving up for my 2 week family holiday but maybe one day i will do it.
  10. Yep tamiya i have had a 4 channel helicopter about 3 years ago just a co axial one, had it for 3 months and flogged it, but i suppise its like anything if you dont keep ontop you loose your ability, dont really know why i got rid of it to be honest lol but must say quads are the future deffo more fun than a heli, i cant believe how good the hubsan is once the mods have been done and very fast and agile in exoert mode with the rates at 100%, i think these are very under estimated quads and once you get over the crashing and the wife moaning about marks on the walls it is a joy to fly.
  11. Yes the controls are finally sinking in my little brain of mine and now can fly it around the house and control it when facing me, had it for a week now and had half an hr each day so say about 3 and half hours of flight time and one broken prop on the 1st flight, its wierd how it suddenly all clicked together one minute im rubbish and now im ok but darent do pirroets in the house yet only outside the stunts arw easy to do though cant wait fir my sons birthday and get him the twister quad now, gonna take him out on the hubsan again today.
  12. Just been out on the field with my lad, big open area he is getting the feel for it but said to me why you have to pull back to stop it flying forwards and vice versa i told him the twister doesnt do that and if yoy master this one the twister will be a doddle, i took it up as high to the point of barely seeing it, i showed him all the tricks and he loved it and me lol, i am way better outside at controlling it, mind over matter i think knowing that i have room for correction.i will look at that thread cheers bud.
  13. Going to take him out on the field for 10 mins today so he can have a go and feel for the controls, what sort of uprated battery for the hubsan do i need to be looking at for a few minutes better flight time ?
  14. Yep i have one of those, just fitted a 240mah battery in it this week, he's not that bothered about helicopters but loving the quads.
  15. Cheers for that mate, will the standard charger be ok with that better lipo or is a better charger needed. Also is the v949 of same quality as the twister or vice versa as they are all about
  16. Your telling me its an angry wasp mate lol, its a right little bugger, i have put the setting down to 50 on normal and all the way to 100 on expert, jesus this thing can shift by looking at it must be doing about 25mph, before i modded the bottom with padded foam and modded the motor spindle with soray can tube i have gone through one prop and siezed a motor up but freed it iff with long nosed pliers, lessoned learned do the mods 1st lol.i must admit i am struggling with it when its flying towards me especially indoors because i am under constant pressure of trying not to make a mistake but give it a few months and i shoukd be ok, i have mastered the stunts but its that bloody rudder on the throttle i seem to turn and knock the throttle up, it might be my sausage fingers but i will get there, as for my son twister quad it is out on the field where errors can be made, must admit i havent had thus much fun with rc for years cars just seem to bore me a bit now im 36 and air has solved this problem as it is a challenge, cheers for the advice
  17. Bought my lad a hubsan, put the settings right down but co ordination and him being 8 he is a bit trigger happy and is struggling with it as the living room isnt massive and bieng windy at the mo he cant get a decent hover outside it blows off course, im getting ok with it can do the flips etc but struggle with the controls when its coming back to me but im ok with rc car weird hey lol, what i want to know guys before i spend my cash will a twister quad be better for him for outdoor use only as i have had a quick go with one and it seems more stable ie when you go forward then hover it doesnt carry on like the hubsan where you have to give it a little bit of opposite control, whats your thoughts guys he really wants to learn but unable with the hubsan without a large indoor area.
  18. Hi guys the time has come to sell my beloved hyper 7, its just not getting used only had 1 ltr in it in 12 months lol. The car will be sold with the spectrum dx2e, spare set of now slick road tyres, spare new diff/wheel bearings, silicone diff oils, air filter oil, after run oil, spare glow plug in packet, glow plug wrench, fuel bottle, 8 new clutch bearings, glow starter with charger, hump pack included +charger + some other bits and bobs i have spare like a worn but usable shell. The spec of the car as follows, picco .21b engine bump start version i converted it myself, seen 9 ltrs of fuel since i ran it in 18 months ago and compression is still unreal top motor and its a screamer, all the usual black edition spec, better shocks etc, i have done the full hinge pin mod, it has rear cnc alloy hubs, savox throttle servo, tower pro steering servo, I had to cut part of the chassis out so it would start on my fastrax king starterbox but thats no big issue. I will let the pictures do the talking it runs like a dream and goes like a rocket it wooped my mates hyper 7 with a go .28 engine in it. The car has had full set of wheel and diff bearing done and new diff oils + shock oils and seen 1 ltr of use then stored, piston always set to bdc after use and after run oil applied.Im not gonna haggle with this one i want
  19. When i ran my picco in mate after a tank i took the backplate off and the amount of swarf that was in the crankcase was unreal i have also found on mine it loves cold plugs, the engine is very tight when new i converted mine to a blanking plate and starter box so much better starting it on a box and glow starter powered of ya box.
  20. Temp guns as said are good for the novice and running in a motor, when you have been doing nitro for a while you will soon hear what a tuned motor sounds like, instant take off and clean sounding all the way to max revs without lean bogging, rich engines splutter on take off possibly stall and slow top end no high revs, lean engine on tick over makes a how can i put it a stammering noise and will rev high and possibly engage the clutch a little and also can stall on take off, at high speeds the engine is starved of fuel and cut out (deffo not good and possibly blow ya motor). All my engines i have owned over the years have had different heat ranges at a perfect tune, ie my lrp.30 would be happy at 230/240f yet my picco.21 cos it revs higher generating more heat will typically have a perfect tune at 280f, remember heat doesnt sieze an engine nitro engines love heat its the lack of lubrication that will so picking the right plug which in a nitro is your ignition timing can make a big difference in the way your engine behaves, my all time favourite plug is the os 8 but yet in my picco.21 it eats them to higher rev and heat generated burning the plug quicker so i use a cold plug and now is perfect but can be a pain to start in this cold weather lol but alot more robust.
  21. Yep stand by ya Lee, go engines are very good for the book especially the bump start .21, my mate had a .28 in his hyper and that was excellent, and have nothing to do with force as you say, hpi tend to have re branded force engines except the hpi k 4.6 high output which i think is just a re branded axial .28 if my old memory serves me correct. marty
  22. Yippee Austria for 2 weeks, getting ready to drive to Manchester airport.

  23. The engine isn't as torquey as the lrp but wll rev higher about 39,0000rpm lrp.30 near the 33,0000rpm mark, the axial engine is a good engine though, i,ve had the lrp.30 and its a cracking engine so reliable and strong holds a tune all day long.
  24. You want the thickest in the middle then the front then the thinnest in the rear mate, remove all the oil, i use brake cleaner, check o rings then fill up so all the gears are in oil, do not over fill because oil expands when it gets hot and cant splash around so will only leak out and make the o rings fail.
