Now I remember why I said I'm not gonna buy anything second hand if its Rc related.
-
I've got zero motivation to rebuild my car, I started but stopped after 10 minutes.

Has Modelsport changed their website? If so the new one is foul.

Where's the best place to buy the LC racing truggy? Thanks

Yes it does sorry i might have written it confusingly
If u want to go the kaboom route try to get your hands on the MT rtr (H) version. But with bigger tires than the stock buggy ones you'll need to cut a fair chunk off the front side panels so it don't rub on the wheels
Later it will be cheaper to convert tolong chassis by having the MT. But don't spend more than an extra 20-30 quid to get the MT

That xmaxx is a proper bargain, I wonder how long it will take to sell.

Rc shops have to be the biggest rip off when it comes to postage. £3.50 for a small part is just idiotic.

Alex97 - the sad fact is they only make peanuts selling the part (how much money can be in £3-6 parts ) - then a small parcel via royal mail cost £2.85 + packaging + time for someone to pack it and finally there's the payment processing fee (paypal, CC provider).
Since owning my own business it really open my eyes to how much these eat in to your margin.
-
They get a reduced rate. A first class large stamp is 95p the bags are around 25p (price in local shop). So for them to charge £3+ isn't right in my option. A order from amain is $1.99 and will take around a week to arrive, they're cheaper on the part and postage, UK shops don't have a change sadly. US model shops all seem to be massive, might be that's it's more popular or the stuff is cheaper. Shame

Yup.... which is why I was disgusted by Cameron bailing when he didn't get his own way. That means no decisions get made until after an election for leader....andthe possibility of a forced general election even though Corbyn stands alone against his entire party and the Liberals are...er...who are they? I don;t even know who is in charge of them now.
Once the businessmen who actually run the country start sorting out trade deals, it will improve....but as john says, it's going to be at least 12-18 months before they are going to actually invoke the conditions of the Lisbon Treaty and formally leave the EU and they will only do that when they have sorted out the necessary deals.
-
Actually the £ has technically lost only around 8% against the dollar so it's all a **** excuse. In Jan it was £1 = $0.69. Now it's £1 = $0.77 which is a difference of like $0.08 ergo roughly 8%. Where did that 30% figure come from? Bar stewards.
It's all total garbage what you hear in the media, they think we're stupid and they exaggerate to make everything sound like doomsday. FTSE is about the best it's been all year.
Prices won't go down once up regardless. A bit like the promise with VAT. "Oh we'll put it up from 17.5% to 20% to help balance the books and then I promise it will go back after 1 year" That was bought in well over 2 years ago hmm has it changed yet? No!.
Oh and Theresa may's "deals" will be made to sound like we're out but nothing will be changed. Most pro Europe Tory in the cabinet. Why do you think they're so keen to swear her in.

Chris Evans is stepping down from top gear! The show might now be salvageable.

Personally I think it's crap and I even removed it from my planned because I wasn't interested in watching.
I don't like how he shouts all the time, like he's been there since the very first episode or something.
He also tried to be all 3 of the others in one and it just didn't work.
I don't know him personally, but the guy he portrays on TV and a complete and utter bell!
Matt and Sabine did seem to get on quite well, because unlike Chris, they are actually very good drivers.
I also quite liked the rallycross thing too, a bit of a different idea, which was good to see, but too much was copied and I was bored after episode 2.

When going around a corner it's helps to use the steering wheel not your team mate!

52% leave and 48% stay. Wow that's extramly close.

That's the 3D printer packed up and ready to be sent back, such a shame that it didn't work out.

Looking around it seems like the market has changed since I bought mine. The good Makerbot clones seem to have disappeared. Mine is nothing like the one described by Tamiyacowboy as it uses metal for the hotplate support etc and is rock solid and stays in adjustment. Everybit as well made as a genuine Makerbot.
So it seems like the only way to get a good one now is to buy a brand name one or build one from scratch using good compnents.
-
Yep the markets flooded with total carp, the only one thats truely worth its money in some kind of way is a makerbot. but even second hand they still command a decent price on sale.
theres the Prusa builds , but these change so rapid its untrue and then its open source so you get these chinese firms moving in and just hobknobling together parts to make a prusia imax etc etc etc , not even a true Prusa model just a hybrid of ideas taken from open sourced folks making better on the prusa layout.
Components are easy to come by the most needed is a good set of motor drivers and a board. otherwise Marlin-sailfish software can be used to control said boards. you could if you own a CNC cutter-Mill convert it to a print head unit by swapping out its cutting head for a extruder head and flashing the system with a sailfish software for control. but then you loose out money wise, the cnc miller can make more money than a 3d printer and takes less time to.

3d printer ordered!

I've used Slic3r which is not bad but Cura 3D might be better if it will work with your printer. 3Dslicer looks like it has potential but I've not actually used it myself.

They are the future, if I was any good with a computer ide jump on one too and a vynal cutter plotter.
Ide really like a vynal cutter plotter just to make the kids wall art. They look very good for saying ther one colour. But I've seen some multi colour over lapping decals now which look even better.
I just brought some monster baja 5sc decals the guy said he sells tons.

Are busted servos covered under warranty? My power HD one gave up today, it seems to have locked it self in one position. Its under a year old, any idea what Modelsport might say?

Why do some people have to be so lazy with their for sale posts. I can't stand it when people leave a link to the eBay page or their photo bucket library. Put a bit of work into the add for goodness sake. Rant over.

I don`t really want to go into my personal details, but i will say i have been totally ripped off by Virgin media helping themselves to what little funds i had in my bank account via a direct debit set up.
So,i now pay a £30 for three months in advance with what used to be EE, but since they got bought out by BT the service has bombed out,it used to do what i needed no problem, but not now with all the stalling and dropouts.
I tried 3 a couple of months ago and the cost was terrible, plus they do actually cut you off when your credit runs out.
It`s a bit of a stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.
All i was trying to point out is,please don`t assume why people do stuff or don`t do stuff, often there can be things which you might not of thought of and no offence intended in any way.

That was just a massive disappointment.

Just looking at insurance renewals and the prices are insulting. For an employed person (myself) they want £1450, for a student they want £654. It's so furiating that there's a £800 price difference. I've shopped around but this seems to be the trend with them all ?

I thought the older you are the better off you are. Students o expected would be the higher band standard.
Too many people now crashing on purpose to claim on someone else's insurance or if ther lucky settle between them.
My driving instructor never let's me go if someone flashes their lights or something to say go on. He says they could be baiting me into a crash. Seems mad but I'm learning lol.

Once again parcel force have failed to deliver my parcel when they said they would. Let's see if they'll be able to deliver it tomorrow.

I can't decide what ESC to go with. It's between the max8 or the QuicRun-WP-8BL150. I'm mainly gonna be running on 4s but I want to try 5 or 6s someday.

Losi's new yeti looks like it's gonna be a little bit of a flop.

You can tell that the forum is slowing down as I can't remember the last time HPI firestorm was recommended! At least it isn't as buggy today.

I think you're more likely to find knowledgeable people on a forum than you are on a facebook group. If I have a question about something I'll always check out a forum first. Also while I remember I have a rusted, non working, ancient Thunder Tiger that I'd like to swap for an eggbox 360 and some half used deodorant sets.
