  1. Installed a proper, deep rear bed into the Coyote, added some scale bits and lights. Turned out nice.
  2. Did a few bits today. Installed a deep bed so its more like an actual truck, installed some lights and a few scale bits. Looks great imo.
  3. At lest 20 tanks by now only things that have broken were the Spur gear, the plastic shock caps and now the chassis, I should have got a brace for it but never did lol.
  4. Another nice little run today, really enjoying this thing.
  5. Haha yep was great fun, stuff happens! will replace it and put on the brace at the same time lol. Honestly it's a lot tougher than I thought it would be, these clones have come a long way.
  6. Switchblade is pretty cheap and works perfectly. Use decent 2stroke oil too.
  7. First major breakage, snap goes the chassis!!!! That's what I get for ignoring the advise for getting a chassis brace lol.
  8. Boom, thanks for this info! The ecx temper mini diff fit in nicely with some slight modification all going now!
  9. It's finally working properly! Had quite a few teething issues. Firstly the hyper 7 diff died instantly. The old big joes were VERY unbalanced and shaking it to pieces so I suspect that had a hand to play. I have put a HPI trophy buggy flux diff in there now which should hopefully be stronger and hold up, and it actually fits better anyway. Plus can get hardened gears for that if it ever does die. I have also gone down to a 13t pinion for now as it was getting warm seems good at the moment. Here's a little vid, on temporary old truggy wheels I had laying around lol, until I get paid and buy some new proper MT wheels. Will get a proper vid when I take it somewhere on the weekend. Can't wait to blast it properly on the weekend!
  10. First proper run today down Breakheart Quarry with the Bristol rock crawlers group. Had a great time and the truck performed great. Only problem was the magnets aren't the best when the body gets hit it dislodges pretty easily, will make some side mounts with velcro I think.
  11. Finally another update!! My motor arrived today, a leopard 4282 2000kv: Slightly bigger than an old 1515 I have (dead): So I got to soldering on XT90s and building. All came together nicely! So yeah all done, really happy with it! However it is way over geared with the 17t pinion, not happy at all. So I will be ordering a 14t then I can rip it properly and upload some vids I reinstalled the front drive shaft after the pics don't worry lol, just needed to do some work on the front end.
  12. My brother recently wanted to get back into RC crawling and gave me his old Losi mini rock crawler to look at as it decided to be 3 wheel drive. Had a look and the lockers have stripped in the diff, I know it's a long shot but I cant find any anywhere, anyone happen to have either of these parts: https://www.rcplanet.com/rc-parts/r-c-car-truck-parts/losi-center-diff-locker-plastic-mini-rock-crawler-losb1434/?fbclid=IwAR2PlabpIcNHAEL_oQuU_ybM3GPTISSng7ms7xCcQDor6ROB-Kv4U7ut3qU https://www.astramodel.cz/en/catalog/losi/front-rear-metal-differential-locker-1-mrc-p12770.html?fbclid=IwAR2PlabpIcNHAEL_oQuU_ybM3GPTISSng7ms7xCcQDor6ROB-Kv4U7ut3qU If not I guess I will have to get creative lol.
  13. She's done! the colour turned out really nice imo and looks good against the chrome. Can't wait to get it down some trails! If you're wondering about body posts, I used some magnetic mounts off ebay so none are showing, great idea imo. Just glued the magnets to the body.
  14. Hey guys! Recently had an urge for a crawler after seeing some videos and such so I decided to get one. Did some research and really wanted a kit so I ended up going for the SCA-1E Coyote kit. Got it with a 35t RC4WD motor (I know they're a bit hit or miss but it was cheap) and a hobbywing 1060 and a cheap 2s battery. Got a cheap old turnigy servo at the moment too, but its waterproof so will do for now. All arrived promptly from modelsport Seemed daunting at first with all this! (got a bit excited and built the shocks before I got a picture lol!) Anyway the build went nicely. Lovely little kit and enjoyed spending the day building it. My only complaint with the truck as a whole is they provided bushings in all the axles instead of bearings which is a shame, I will be upgrading those to bearings ASAP. I'm aware XT90 is way overkill for a crawler but I like my batteries to be consistent lol. Also need to get a servo wire extension it's slightly too short to hide properly. Overall I'm well chuffed with it. Will be doing the body shell tomorrow
  15. Seems to be in to modifying cars, what 1:1 cars have you had and modified? How much do you think you've spent on RCs over the years? What would be your number 1 tip for someone new to the hobby? Traxxas or ARRMA overall? Favorite RC that's not a Traxxas or ARRMA?
  16. Little update on the MGT, I waited a month for banggood to ship my motor then they said they won't have it in stock for another month!!! So I cancelled that order and went over a few different ideas for motors, I've ended up ordering a leopard 4282 2000kv which will be here next week so pretty excited about that. In the mean time my batteries have arrived, I'd never heard of the Zeee batteries before but did some research and they're decent by all accounts. I would have went with my usual Turnigys but Hobbyking don't have a lot in stock atm so I couldn't! These are 5200mah and 50c so should be plenty powerful for my needs, I will be soldering XT90 connectors on and making a series adapter. Only £60 for the pair on amazon. Snug fit!
  17. Oh nice, where did you buy it from? just on ebay? Edit: Never mind, found this website with DHL shipping I assume its the one. This motor looks perfect: https://www.rcecho.com/LEOPARD-RC-Model-4282-KV2000-4-Poles-R-C-Hobby-Inrunner-Brushless-Motor-IM152.html
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEOPARD-930KV-BRUSHLESS-MOTOR-Boat-Plane-car-etc-Brand-new/352806141308?hash=item5224e27d7c:g:MIcAAOSwUqVdjowW Managed to find this one but I think 930kv would be way too low even on 6s? maybe ok with a big pinion? I also managed to find a used castle 1717 for £150 which would be perfect, just a bit pricey but might go for it if its still there on payday lol.
  19. Anyone know a good place to buy leopard motors from? Or at least in the EU with quick postage. I want to get a 4092 or a 4282 but cant find anywhere that's not the USA to buy the damn things! I bought a 4092 motor on banggood but they kept changing the shipping date so I cancelled that, I want to get my MGT going ASAP now so looking for a reasonably priced large motor that will come pretty quick in the post if anyone has any suggestions apart from Leopard?
  20. Looking for a brushless motor for my MGT after I had to cancel my order with banggood. Looking for around 1300 to 1600kv and the bigger the better.
  21. Battery trays came today, mounted them up and they fit nicely So now I'm just waiting on the motor! Banggood say it's not in stock until the 20th so won't ship until then Need to get 2 3S batteries as well but that'll just be turnigy's from Hobbyking
  22. bump, now on eBay, open to offers.
