  1. I've got proline big joes on tech 5 wheels on mine. Ain't had any problems & they last well too.
  2. I put a mamba max & 2200kv motor in my summit. It does go through CVDs a bit quick, but is otherwise great ?. The shell takes a beating better than any other that I've owned. No need to take the lockers out. Just use em for getting up & over the rough stuff .
  3. I'd like my old " fire fox " back. The tamiya rough rider, I'd widen the front suspension so it don't roll over at 5 mph. & the losi micro dominator. I could back flip it over the coffee table ?
  4. If you go Lipo, buy them from hobbyking. Not sure on a 150 quid kit, but someone'll chip in soon. Xvpilots the tamiya God on here. If you don't mind used, there's the used section on here. Most folks on here look after their trucks, to the point of obsession ?. So when they're sold on they've been properly serviced. The ftx viper ain't a kit, but it's pretty capable & 125 for the brushed one. & when little un gets the hang of it, it's about 40 quid for a brushless combo
  5. Managed to bodge a trigger from one tx into the one for the associated sc28. It ain't pretty but it works ?
  6. Shifting the Lipo up front helps with crawling. I've done this to my ftx outlaw recently. Weighting the wheels helps too.
  7. Hi. Tamiya are a bit dated now. Suspension & chassis design has moved on. What're you planning on doing with It? Jumping & general bashing about? On gravel/loose dirt? Car parks? Also what sort of budget? & finally ? how olds the little un? Our 6 year old has a hobbyking mini monster truck that tops out at about 30mph. He can sort of control it in a wide open space, but keeps hitting things when there are things to hit?.
  8. I did the fuel tube trick, still bunged dog bones whenever it wanted. ?. That's why I gave up on it.
  9. I had one years ago. Good truck except for it bunging dog bones at every opportunity. Wish I hadn't given mine away now ?. Should have done a brushless conversion.
  10. Good little trucks. Oil the "shocks", it makes it handle much better
  11. To do a decent mesh, cut a piece of paper the same width as the spur, fold it in half, put it between the spur & pinion. Move the motor so the papers trapped. Pull the paper out. The paper should be concertina'd. Sorted ?
  12. Hello ?Hop ups are upgrade parts. What's ya kid running?
  13. I've got a brushless summit. (Same chassis). I got a slipper with aluminium pads. I've broken drive shafts but not any transmission. It's worth a try. Cheap too ?
  14. Steel rear drive shaft is pretty much a must on the outlaw. That's the only weak point on mine.
  15. Yep. Just sits there wheelspinning . Have you seen the ftx outlaw? Good trail/crawler
  16. I've got the kyosho axxe. It's the same chassis as the monster tracker. It's a tough little truck, but is hopeless at crawling .
  17. That's ace ?. What sort of speed do you rekon you're getting out of it?
  18. How did it go? The chassis mod is a must ain't it ?.
  19. I've got some 1400ft high hills nearby. Good place to play with the ftx outlaw. I end up more trailing than crawling looking for new places to play with it ?
  20. I'd love to have a play area like that!! There's nothing like that even remotely local to me ?.
  21. What he said. Cheap, good quality & I've never had one go poof ?
  22. Hello ?. What kind of budget all in batteries charger truck etc? For lipos , most people go to hobbyking uk. What terrain ? Rough slow , blasting about on short grass & dirt? Have a look at the ftx outlaw, there's loads of info on here about em.
  23. Having the ariel against the motor would explain your problem. Brushless motors throw out a lot of radio signals.
  24. Go for some lipos from hobby king, good quality & price. I always get mine from em & I've not had any go poof ?
  25. Yeah, there's no adjustment for the motor position. What motor're & esc are you running? Mine cogged at low speed with the 60a esc, I fitted a 120a esc but I ain't done any slow stuff with it yet ,so I don't know if it's gonna cog or not.
