  1. all tamiya stuff is fairly well made, electrics in them are cheap but i have never had a issue with there esc or motors. dont know about radio gear though. i have had lots of different makes of cars in the past and nothing comes close to the ease of build of tamiya. good luck and welcome back into the hobby!!
  2. for a first kit i would say a tamiya, they are a pleasure to build with good clear instructions. the kits are a little more expensive than the ansmann stuff but parts are plentfull on modelsport/ebay etc. as for speed, what are you looking for?? out and out racer?? also what type of car are you looking for?? on road car/off road car/ monster truck/buggy. best think to do is look at all the electric models on the modelsport site and see which takes your fancy and fits your budget. hope this helps, gaz.
  3. hi mate, yes it will be built tough if its as good as the ax10 or scx10. are you wanting to do a bit of everything with it? crawling/bogging/racing?? if so, and my opinion would be, buy a good used ax10 and the fastrax cage then for power a ezrun 13t combo, i guess you have your own radio to put in?? lastly a servo for steering. all that would be around the

  5. try reversing the throtlle switch on the transmitter, should be fine then.
  6. get the female trx connectors mate, the tamiya ones are ok for vintage stuff but on the rustler they will got hot and eventually melt.

  12. set of bearings is about all you can do to start with mate, maybe some turnbuckles to adjust camber.

  15. vapex are decent batteries for the money. what car is it going to be used for? that battery will not fit in some cars, worth checking before you buy it mate.
  16. hi mate, i had one many moons ago and it did not have a manual, there is a guy who makes and sell them on ebay, if you search mardave then there will be some on there, contact seller and he may do you a set of instructions for it.
  17. yeah, couple of year ago, i was into trucks big time!! but got bored with them, ill dig out some pics if i still have them... both were fully hopped up, inc. mfu`s, i had near on a £1000 each in these. my mate, mike (hence the no. plates) bought both off me. the purple one was sat on a shelf for more than a year
  18. yep, used them before. look like the plastic boat uj`s?? personally id look for a pair of the tamiya ones (scorcher/rough rider etc) they are loads stronger and straight fit too. it is a far better idea than the kit ones though. is that a merc box truck you have there??
  19. to be honest mate, i would say batteries are dying, i used to use nimhs when racing and was advised to replace them each year. although my batteries used to be hot when charged. sorry i cant be of more help, gaz.
  20. savox do a micro servo, will fit but needs the savox horn fitting onto the traxxas steering arm.

  22. not much help but i use a dx3s with sr300/3300 receivers and my eyes give up before it loses signal. is the aerial wire upright?? also away from motor wires and other electrics?? sorry i cant be of more help...
  23. if you plan on buying over the counter, wait until you purchase the car, you will then get the right % fuel and you may get some discount if you buy it all together, nothing ventured, nothing gained........
