  2. mine never have, mine is the black landrover, we were all on lipo.
  3. if you want to upgrade the esc, try out a mtroniks rv11, there was some for sale new on ebay for
  4. lipos are fine in freshwater, ie. streams puddles etc. its sal****er that kills them. i have had lipos (softcase) submerged in my scaler and all has been fine.
  5. for that kind of money if you want a crawler with loads of bits available then id go for a good used axial ax10, much better crawler overall. otherwise have you seen the maverick scout?? rtr for
  6. mmmmmm, the cell looks like its punctured too. if its possible to charge outside away from harm then give it a go. but as mattjt has said get back on to the seller and see what`s what.
  7. please dont take this as gospel but, the esc in the electric rtr virus is either 80a or 100a and takes 2-4s lipos the motor is 2250kv. i also think the esc is hobbywing or similar copy. now im well aware that the best is a mmm but this costs lots more than this set-up. if i had the time again, id still buy the virus. i was looking at the cage, looks great but i was informed by a good freind who knows his stuff in r/c and he did tell me not to bother. if you can push, the inferno is a good buy though. but for
  8. either that or buy the electric rtr with 2.4ghz for £249.
  9. all part of the enjoyment for me too mate, saw a brat/blackfoot roller on ebay, bought it and its near enough cost me the price of a new one, so not quite the bargain id hoped for but will make a very nice runner, then bought a tamiya hummer for my son to find the steering knuckle broken and what looked like hammerite paintjob, so had to spend on that too!! it never ends, there is always something to spend the money i hide in paypal on......

    apex models

well, i use modelsport for most of the new kits i buy and everytime its faultless!! the big problem which has already been said is the parts always out of stock, i admit modelsport are by no means the cheapest but i will always order from them as the service is bang on! even the courier that delivers for them too (fastway i think) if i cant get from ms, then ebay has a very good selection of sellers, tamiya bits i use, melianw/tamiya rc car spares/tonys tamiya parts/selections web all as good as modelsport on the ebay site. local shops i use include, geedee models in nottingham, pbm models in newthorpe (andy is a freind) and mighty models in sheffield, with these its worth ringing to check stock before setting off. if all else fails, hong kong/ u.s. but recently started to use hobbyking, first time was great 1 week to deliver over easter at that, but the last 2 orders have taken near 3 weeks to arrive, blindingly good prices though.
  11. should look sweet mate. i tried to keep it a "scale" as possible with the shell, but i know heavyleftthumb will do the body justice now, when i had it, it was covered in scale dust
  12. it is mate, rioja red (from a discovery though) cheers mate, looks real good with the cage on, we got to load up that roof rack now!!
  13. mad rat/mad monkey are great cars!! if you fancy something 4wd, how about the maverick strada mt/sc etc. about
  14. tamiya parts are creeping up in price too just of late. real shame though to be honest, from a sales point of view, if you want the parts, your gonna pay!!
  15. i have one and i love it!!! im not the best or careful driver with fast stuff and cartwheels are my forte but it keeps coming back for more. the 2 little issues i have with it are, 1, cogs like mad on 2s lipo`s when trying to set off, stick a 3s or 4s in and its fine and mental fast!! 2, the battery tray is a bit small for my liking, so had to make a bigger one. other than that, excellent value for money. this was only bought to tide me over so i could save up for a vorza, still having a vorza but i will keep the virus too. out of ten, easily a solid 8/10 for me.
  16. 100% with you there mate, after doing scaler comps at sdr and lincs. other normal wood land and such soon get boring. i dont crawl but have scalers and they are a good way to relax, less breakages, hone in your driving skills too. i raced competitively in the past but found scale comps more of a challenge. its more driver than car with crawling/scaling. still love the fast stuff though, although my eyes and brain prefer the slower speeds
  17. the slash is the same as the rally too, so hop-ups should be a plenty. ebay worldwide should bring up near 2000 items i think.
  18. not sure mate, but the turnigy 5200 2s batteries did not fit. had to make a alloy one to take a soft case 4s turnigy nanotech battery size was 136x48x50 my nano-tech battery was 150 long, hobbyking has the sizes down as being quite generous but i could not find a big capacity battery to fit in the original tray.
  19. sorted now, please lock/close. thanks.
  20. looking good so far, nice choice of colour for the body!! the wheels do look the business now you have painted them. look forward to seeing this running mate,
  21. hi mate, what batteries are you using??? does it sound like a electric squealing?? mine does the same on 2s lipos, i now use 3s and 4s lipos and it cures it, all i get now when gunning the throttle is odd shaped tyres
  22. hi, i have the virus brushless. this is my opinion, i would buy a virus, mine has taken some hard knocks and still fighting fit!! plenty of spares for them on ebay,
  23. check out rcbearings on ebay, if he douesn`t list a set then email him and he will make you up a set for around
