  1. no problems mate, ill help where i can
  2. its a fake piggy back resevior.
  3. i think i used a 19t pinion with the standard spur, that ran a 60amp esc and 8.5t motor and it was stupid fast. lowest it can take is 18 (i think) unless you change the spur. that 13t above should make the rat/monkey quite fast as theres not a deal of weight in it to start with.
  4. i put that set-up in a losi sc truck and it surprised me how nippy it is. not mega quick but fun!! and for that money, not to be sniffed at!!
  5. thats exactly what i love about the volvo t5`s, look like normal cars but are proper mental on power!!
  6. hi, the mad rat is not a truck, does it need to be a monster truck?? theres loads of choice so you need to narrow down what your looking for, how old is the boy? what surface is he likely to run it on? electrics choice (brushed/brushless)
  7. obviously bigger wheels mean more ground clearance which gives better crawling ability overall but the losi mrc is a great little crawler in it own right. if you plan to enter a crawling comp go the 2.2 route as the 1.9 has not taken off inthe uk as yet. my own money, id go for the axial everytime, it may be
  8. i only have electric cars at the moment but i am looking at either nitro or petrol power. i have heard many times that nitro do take a bit of tuning/fiddling with, im not a patient person so if things dont go well i could see myself putting a hammer through it, so im swaying for petrol, costs are daunting though, plus having somewhere to keep it etc. listen to these guys, they all have made a good point, what works best for you, only you know! i would get to a meet and talk to owners, see various cars too, you will come away with more of a idea of what you want and a great car to look for, saves wasting cash on something you dont have fun with.
  9. hi, welcome to the forum! your volvo looks very nice mate, are they still 5cylinder turbo?? i miss my old 850 t5
  10. couldn`t find that for love nor money, thought the offer had ended.
  11. if you can get it below the centreline of the axle and somewhere it wont get scraped off put it on there. i would say put it on the wheels though, real pain taking all the beadlock screws out though
  12. hi bbadger, go brushless with nimh`s then if you fancy lipo youre already halfway there. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280590324888&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT about the same price as a decent brushed motor/esc
  13. back to the top, prices dropped too.
  14. having never had a firestorm i cant really comment but there biggest downside is there 2wd, which could be a handfull to drive, go for something 4wd. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/maverick-strada-xt-evo-s-brushless-rtr-truggy/rc-car-products/38129 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/maverick-strada-mt-evo-s-brushless/rc-car-categories/1163/9900/990010&ChassisID=765 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/maverick-strada-sc-evo/rc-car-categories/1163/9900/990010&ChassisID=762 (brushed version) brushless set-up for
  15. my finger was hovering the buy button until i saw the feedback too. dont care how bad it was for that money, more bothered about getting it in the first place!!
  16. first is a tamiya buggy for sure, not 100% on the actual model though. second is a mardave banger. got a good deal for both cars there mate, about
  17. to be honest the mardave v12 banger is a carpet or very smooth tarmac racer, a tamiya m03/5 chassis may be better but then wheelbase/width will need sorting, again would not be brilliant off road but better than the mardave. there could be a small buggy etc. that may fit the bill, but im not sure on which. sorry i cant be of more help.
  18. you will be needin a v12 banger then mate. got mine from d&d modelsport on ebay. great people to deal with too.
  19. here you go mate, not the cheapest if im honest but its a volvo estate, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-Estate-banger-shell-mardave-kamtec-etc-/320723666203?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item4aac9ec51b
  20. search mardave on ebay, they was a volvo 240/244 estate on there. about
  21. its not a imaxb6 by any chance is it?? who is the seller?? my mate bought one the same from the uk, turned up faulty, they requested it be sent back to hk, he kicked up a fuss and they then sent another one out, he now has 2 full sets of leads for his. does not matter what you buy or where from, the shop thats sold you the item is responsible!! the shop would then claim against the supplier.
