  1. what you looking for trade wise for the truggy wheels?? also are they 17mm hex and are they good condition?? very interested in these, thanks, gaz.
  2. hi, i really fancy a truggy now after watching some on youtube so, i have a ansmann virus 2.0 brushless and im wondering, 1, is it easy to convert it?? apart from wheels/tyres and body is there anything else that wants/needs changing?? 2, would it be more feasable to sell the virus and buy a truggy?? this is a area of r/c i know very little about, so your help would be great. thanks, gaz.
  3. @ chrisknights, that man shed looks great mate, even a balcony for beer breaks!! what more could you ask for??
  4. the batteries are called sub c stick packs, there rounded on the sides and more or less a perfect fit to the hole in the chassis. the sport tuned is much quicker than the guessing silver can motor in there now.
  5. to be honest mate, those ansmann clash motors aren`t up to much, better spending the extra and going for a sport tuned or similar, ditch the msc too. how much do you have to spend on these mate if you dont mind me asking??
  6. if its a standard mini, then i would go for a tamiya sport tuned motor which will run off the kit esc, if its not there then its a teu-101bk or teu-104bk both can be had for less than
  7. hi all, not too sure if this is the correct section but here goes, bought what i thought was a cheap roller off ebay and it turned out to be rougher than the pics, after spending a small foryune on it, it now stands me at about the same as a nib version would. it has been a labour of love though and its more or less there now. just waiting to get time/weather to use it, only been out 3 times up to now but that was more for testing than anything else. electrics wise it has, spektrum servo and sr300 reciever, traxxas xl5 esc (waterproof one) and a tamiya dirt tuned motor, its running the torque gear set too. enough of the text, onto the pics, all comments welcomed, good or bad!! thanks for looking, gaz.
  8. thats a stunning shell!! cant beat old rally cars!! we need the peugeot 205 t16, metro 6r4 and escort mk1/11 to be done now!! i can see a tt01 coming on now
  9. fair point then mate, never bought anything 3 racing for tamiyas if im honest, sounds very poor though. suppose with the scalers there not getting the speed impact that racers are.
  10. not 100% true, the 3 racing hop-ups for the axial scx10 are as good if not better than the axial stuff. although when i raced a b4 buggy 3 years ago all the 3 racing stuff for that never quite fitted properly. on a mini, bearings, cvd`s, good shocks will make a big difference. power wise a tamiya sport tuned and kit esc will be more than good enough for racing, but as whats already been said, stock up on tyres!!! also a bit of weight in the rear keeps it planted in the corners....
  11. the big clue maybe the 105 inch bit mate
  12. it will be coming together soon mate, cant wait to see it running!!
  13. the savage/blitz looks awesome!! looks like it was made like that. nice wheels/tyres too.
  14. vorza 100% for me mate. nothing comes close. the only fault i see with it is the price. but it has a mmm combo (rebadged) so i guess half the money is there.
  15. while im truly amazed at the technology of all the skylines and gtr`s and i would be more than happy with 1000bhp. its would only be like driving one on gran turismo on a ps3 etc. all the power is distributed by computers so even the crappest of drivers could get it round a track without crashing, so, why bother. as for the porsches, my sister has a 911sc on a 83 a reg, driven it. more recently drove a 911 turbo that was 3 year old, all i can say is waste of time and money!! some of the very best "drivers" cars are basic, still the best super car ever made is the ferrari f40, no fancy computers just a pair of huge turbos and fat tyres. saying that nearly all the ferraris are balanced with enough power to scare most and give a real driving experience. plus there all perfect!! at the moment lamborghini has the best balance of technology and feel in a car, look amazing too. but again, each to there own, if the guy who owns the nissan is chuffed to bits with it, good on him!! not my cup of tea but thats what makes us special.
  16. ebay is sometimes your freind, a imax b6 charger will do all your batteries (inc. lipo) but it does require a 12v power supply. can be got for around the
  17. hobbyking for the battery, modelsport for the "t" connectors (also known as deans connectors), imax b6 lipo charger from ebay, lipo bag from any of the shops mentioned. welcome to the forum too mate!!
  18. holiday away for me and the family in the caravan, i feel some beach r/c ing coming on along with drinking and bbq`s

    Body Prep

some do, some dont, if its a clear body ill wash it out with warm soapy water and leave it near a radiator to dry out, plus a warm bodyshell is easier to paint. if its a hard plastic type, i rough it up with a scotchpad and dust it off. done this with all mine barring 2 i didn`t bother to wash out and all mine come out fine. i do agree with the prep side though, more time spent here makes for a better finish. its just so boring!! always use the correct paint and warm up the shell and put the paint can in a mug/jug of hot water, makes spraying a breeze.....
  20. if its for the savage, personally i would go for the 20kg 1256tg version. it will be more than on top of its job, as for waterproofing, take the case apart and re-do the seals with a little silicone sealer and either a blob of vaseline or silicone grease where the horn spines pop through the casing. saying that, i have a mg996r servo in a scx10 too that gets submerged regularly and its going strong for the last 18 months now.
  21. i know where you are now mate, my aunt and uncle live on stubbing court?? would it be better to park on the bend on langer lane?? ill have to have a drive up sometime soon mate, looks like a good spot!! hope you get the car sorted mate
  22. looks ok, to be honest though, savox have got there name from making first class servo`s with good backup too. for the extra money i believe it to be worth the extra. i have a 0251 in my 1/8th buggy for steering and its pin sharp now turns in perfectly. also have the 1256tg (20kg) in my scx10 scaler, nothing stops the wheels turning on that now.
  23. the venom creepers are cheap for a very good reason mate, the axles internals are made from pudding!! me personally would steer well clear of them. best 2 options are, ax10 (only rtc, left new now i think) prices seem to be going up but then again they are almost bulletproof. maverick scout, needs new tyres, weight in the front wheels and move the battery from the very top of the chassis and i believe they are very capable rigs. losi night/comp crawler, good design with worm drive but needs a crawler brushless set-up to make it work, very power hungry.
  24. couple of possibilties, whats the batteries like in your tx?? have you any spare crystals to try out?? other than that, not too sure... where do you go to run?? im about 10 mins away from chesterfield, (bolsover) and always looking for new driving spots.....
