  2. I keep mine in my workshop/garage, this time of year after i have had them out and hosed them down i bring them into the house overnight and leave them on the floor in the kitchen by the radiator to minimise drying time so stuff doesnt rust, i keep all my batteries in an ammo box in the study so they dont get too cold

Youve done more research than me but its basically a Slash 4x4 which is proven. That combo should work fine, Guessing youd run 3S?

Id maybe look at a 4S system personally? Id probably go for a 6S lower kv system with a 40XX can and run 4S?

    I was thinking a 3s system, maybe i may look at a 4

Yea just saw it had different wheels and a later release date. Just bear in mind the BL2S one has plastic hexes etc so there maybe more differences that need upgrading to handle more power. Sometimes Traxxas put different geared diffs in their non VXL models which can become problematic

I was reading up on it, the diffs appear to be the same, only differences in the driveline that i can see is the hexes you mentioned a centre diff and the propshaft is alloy as opposed to plastic, but being a traxxas there will heaps of aftermarket available for it

  5. I quite fancy 1 of these, but i would want to change the power system and sell the bl2s system before i run it as i dont think it would be powerful enough for me and i dont have any 2s lipo and instead of investing in a couple i would be as well upgrading the power system, i have been looking at hobbywing systems but have no idea what i would need i was looking at this but would it be a good match?  https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/hobbywing-combo-max10-g2-140a-esc-3665sd-3200kv-g3-motor-1350919

some advice on this would be greatly appreciated

I did consider the corally syncro as i like the look but aftermarket hop ups doesnt seem to really exist for it looking online and i dont really like the look of the arrma buggy and the notorious breaks pretty much every time i have it out so that is also making me shy away from another arrma product

  6. Decided more speed was needed and changed the pinion to a 15t hardened steel 1 and also the spur to the same as stock but also hardened steel, first pull it ended up on its roof and no matter how i accelerated it just lifted up and tried to flip, so i changed the body shell to a prepainted proline flotek which was a challenge to say the least as none on the dimples to cut out matched up with the clipless system so after lots of measuring and marking i ended up with this its not 100% perfect but i think it will be great

  7. What about using longer bolts and a few washers between the engine mount and engine to space it up? Or you could get 2 strips of alloy same length as the engine mount and drill holes so it lines up with the existing holes and use that as a spacer

  8. I know traxxas are expensive but you know i think they are worth it for a few reasons, 1 spares are cheap in comparison to other brands, 2 parts are readily available, 3 they are well engineered and 4 they really are tough little suckers.

So for example i have a maverick and it likes eating diffs i couldnt tell you how many i have replaced in it but parts are also cheap so at least thats something, exactly a month ago today i got an arrma and it has broken pretty much every time i have had it out and parts are expensive for it, i know traxxas practices are questionable but they do make a great vehicle.

I remember my hpi cars breaking quite a lot as well in comparison, the only other brand i have which is equally as tuff as traxxas is a cen gst, only issue with that was the stock engine which it no longer has so is bulletproof now but parts arent readily available for it

Ohh that's a lovely size , what are the dimensions of it ?. I'll grab myself one as in need now, my lipo bag is a tad full and worried about all them little bombs squished together 😅

Here is a linky to what i bought, i decided to put the holes under the metal lip of the box so the box could still breathe but minimise the flame thrower effect
