  1. What about using longer bolts and a few washers between the engine mount and engine to space it up? Or you could get 2 strips of alloy same length as the engine mount and drill holes so it lines up with the existing holes and use that as a spacer

  2. I know traxxas are expensive but you know i think they are worth it for a few reasons, 1 spares are cheap in comparison to other brands, 2 parts are readily available, 3 they are well engineered and 4 they really are tough little suckers.

So for example i have a maverick and it likes eating diffs i couldnt tell you how many i have replaced in it but parts are also cheap so at least thats something, exactly a month ago today i got an arrma and it has broken pretty much every time i have had it out and parts are expensive for it, i know traxxas practices are questionable but they do make a great vehicle.

I remember my hpi cars breaking quite a lot as well in comparison, the only other brand i have which is equally as tuff as traxxas is a cen gst, only issue with that was the stock engine which it no longer has so is bulletproof now but parts arent readily available for it

Ohh that's a lovely size , what are the dimensions of it ?. I'll grab myself one as in need now, my lipo bag is a tad full and worried about all them little bombs squished together 😅

Here is a linky to what i bought, i decided to put the holes under the metal lip of the box so the box could still breathe but minimise the flame thrower effect

I got 4 of them as I was worried if one goes it will take the rest with it!

Yes that was something i pondered over over when buying this big 1, but just thought overall this was a neater solution to have in the house

  5. Took it out today and broke it again, never even got 1 set of batteries through it

snapped that pin there and damaged the plastic bit in the alloy pin retainer, so since not having a replacement hinge pin i did have a length of 4mm round bar

and decided to cut a bit off and make a new pin

got that installed along with the original pin retainer and we will see what breaks next time although i dont think it will be tomorrow as some serious wind has been forecast

i was having an issue where grass kept getting sucked into the fans on the motor and stopping them turn, did this with a bit of mesh and hopefully will cure the issue

  6. Having had a couple of rc motorbikes in the past , back in the 90’s was my first a kyosho kit which i got pretty good at driving, then many years later a thunder tiger nitro ducati which i just couldnt drive to save my life you could be in a huge car park with only 1 small obstacle in it and no matter how hard you tried you were going to crash into it. When the Anderson mt5 came out i thought it was quite a cool concept but never bought 1, but this promoto looks better in every way, my wife was asking me what i would like for Christmas and i gave her a link to 1 of these, so heres hoping and not chocolate and socks and trainers

  8. A couple of weeks ago when i had the widemaxx out a tyre blew itself too bits, i will say this traxxas tyres are consistently rubbish!

as a stop gap measure i put these wheels on from the trophy truggy

not wanting to spend a lot on wheels at the moment i seem these on aliexpress for £20 delivered and thought i would give them a go, the way in which they mounted was a little bit different but nothing that a washer wouldnt sort out, the offset on these is different so they stick out a bit further too

  9. Update on my diff- arrma have rebuilt it and sent it back to me, so thats a plus

last time i had this out i managed to break the wheely bar, looked at the replacement and seen it was £30, there is no way i am paying that, the wheels dont even have bearings in them!

seen an aluminium 1 on ali for around £12 delivered, thats more like it and the wheels even have bearings in them

  10. I have recently come to own an arrma truck, they may seem like better value to buy to begin with but parts are way more expensive than traxxas maxx spares for example and the maxx takes more of a beating, as far as team corally i have no experience, hpi stuff well i was a big fan of them but parts are harder to get hold of so dont really do much with mine these days. I do have an xmaxx and it is awesome best rc i have ever owned but its size is a plus and a minus at the same time you can run it on so many surfaces but you need a large area to run
