  1. Thanks for taking the time to reply, i decided on the max8 g2 in the end, thought it was the best option for a motor upgrade in the future

  2. Some shiny stuff arrived from aliexpress, whether its better than the plastic, no idea but it looks cool. What arrived was alloy diff housings and for £16 odd quid each i thought why not and the fit was very good even against the other alloy stuff on there already

I usually do a light spray WD40 on the bearings after a wet outing but I was all cold and wet and could not be arsed 🙈.

Spray grease is something I never thought about before after a wet run for the bearings , thanks for that 🙂.

Now to find some spray grease guess Halfords will get a visit after work tonight  😃.

You want a light spray grease, something that is thin enough to penetrate into the bearings i use wurth hhs2000 https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwiitvOu_-GLAxXCh1AGHefJB74YABARGgJkZw&co=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAlPu9BhAjEiwA5NDSA_TEf7sX6WZe_3PQHD-TKB0AoOXRgn-zwSXUUncM5l40VrjLeu78ZxoCcCEQAvD_BwE&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESVuD2McocyPAheChoYbAh4Q2Wok8D7Jx0fUQINnOzOloaIi3y1Q3FwTWKtxojgfeyZ1yWcrGSh5VDbO6TohrA_udevEg_6vfilaujeyDYix_z_7QJNZiy&sig=AOD64_2xZQ_YZBo7UPXD5LILfvqRc3cxBQ&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwio3-6u_-GLAxVQQEEAHc10DTQQ5bgDKAB6BAgIEAs&adurl=

Yeah I did that and was hoping the wheel bearings would survive the outing but alas no 😑 , try and turn the wheels the bearings sound quite crunchy.. joy of joys! 🤣. When I can be arsed I will open them up and fill them with marine grease 🙂.

What i do is when i get home i take the wheels off and prop it against a wall and spray a thin spray grease on top of the bearings (3 on the front and 3 on the rear) and leave it for 5 mins then rotate the axles then turn the car over and do the same on the other side and then take it inside to dry off, usually the bearings are spot on after doing that, hope that makes sense

Took the Mojave 4s out then it ****** it down so it got soaked, was fun ripping it in the wet made for some cool drifting action 😀. Got it drying by the heater ( yes I know about the rats nest of cables and the fire hazard on the right  🙈)

I do this too when my cars are wet, i usually tilt them up so the water runs off easier

  6. I believe that if a battery is outside in winter and its stone cold and you just chuck it in your car and give it beans you will damage it, i have done this. If they are outside in winter, the night before i will take them inside to warm up before use

  8. Forgot to take pics, but had the xmaxx, asuga and the slash 4x4 out today, only casualties were the fan on the esc on the asuga stopped working and on the slash managed to snap the wires going to the rear lights, had some spare white 5mm led so soldered them onto the existing loom so thats working again, for the asuga i am going to buy a rocket fan, but have another 30mm fan i can use if i need to till 1 arrives

  9. Heres what to do, the plastic disc the bodyshell sits on, remove it by either cutting it or grinding it away, this will allow the bodyshell to sit lower, to stop the bodyshell sitting all the way down too far drill some holes below where the disc would have been and put some bodypins in and then the body will sit on these, if you dont like this idea, drill a bit further down still (like 2mm more) and then put a washer on top of the bodypin and sit the body on these, then you can use the existing holes at the top to put your bodypins at the top to hold your body on

  10. This isint a kit but may fit what your after as they share the same chassis, obviously things like bodies and mountings, gearing, arms, wheels and shocks will be different but you could turn 1 into the other https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/traxxas-stampede-4x4-brushless-bl-2s-rtr-green-1355772 and https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/traxxas-ford-fiesta-st-rally-bl-2s-rally-car-red-1358967 for example

Apart from Gorilla tape round the post mount holes all I have done is add clear helicopter tape (used as frame protection on my mountain bike) to the edges of the bodyshell on the outside - wherever it will hit when sliding upside down 😉  Seems to have helped save the shell so far.

Never heard of helicopter tape, it looks like tough stuff. Is it really sticky?

How do you find the GT3c, I just find it's an old model much like my DX4c

I find it has plenty options to set up your channels, really good range, comfy in the hand, receivers are cheap lightweight and small, rechargeable via micro usb, not laggy in operation and it looks good, yea its an older system but  not outdated  i think

  13. I run a flysky gt3c with the esc bec set to 7.4v on a couple of models, seems to work well

that being said that ddf350 with 10 channels seems a bargain from aliexpress  (had to go check what i had in my basket)
