I have always found with on road cars is trying to find a decent place to drive them, i do like an on road car, they look cool but a pebble can make them flip, an uneven road surface will really mess up the front, sides and rear of the body, and when they do end up upsides down it fairly quickly messed up/puts holes in the body, off road can drive on road but not the other way around, and kerbs are not an rc cars friend!
That being said if you guys want minis you go for it, im sure you will have lots of fun with them, then you will try an off road and never hardly drive them on road ones anymore (is so much more fun) in my eyes anyway

I think i mentioned this before on this thread, i am going to take a guess at sandy stuff getting between the bash block and the shaft and over time has worn the shaft away until it was so weak it snapped

I have the same mount on my xmaxx, i stuck a piece of high density foam between the motor and mount at the rear to help against bending stuff

So is this new body latch worth getting?
I am going to be honest, i havent had it out since i fitted it, i have had other cars out but with the mix of not so great weather and being busy at home at the weekends since the new boundry fence has gone up at home making our garden bigger i just havent had time.
1 thing is for sure it doesnt flex like the plastic and it is held on more securely, maybe this weekend if the weathers ok and the digger driver doesnt appear -
Naaa, they are decent trucks and so much fun, i haven't looked back at owning 1

Dont buy that metal cush, its ultra sloppy, the only time i have damaged spur and pinion is when the rubber bit in the cush was really worn, i always run hardened pinion and spur, got them from ali, they were cheap and cannot fault them.
For me its diffs, i just have no luck with them, i went through a spate a year anyway ago where i must have changed the rear one 10 times and then it was just fine for about a year, not too long ago i went out and managed to kill every diff on the truck, since i have changed them so far so good……… then you hear of the next person had the truck 4 years and have never replaced a diff, i dont know. But yea i still run mine

Oh me i am so tempted with this!

Are you sure the bolts are an m2.3? That would mean they are a 2.3mm diameter which is an ultra weird size, i would have expected m2, m2.5 or even m3 i have never owned an mjx hyper go so dont know, why dont you buy 5 m2x10, 5 m2.5x10 and the m3 variant in whichever type of head you need ie countersunk, button head or cap head in stainless steel and just see what fits and then you will know and can then buy a few more of the correct size.
Looking at your link that is self tapping screws, i thought you were on about machine screws which are threaded which can still be used.
I think if i was going down the self tapping screw route i would just buy a multipack and there would be something in there that would fit, but yes your linked screws would work

Few lads get round the spot I go and bring Kratons plus a big ramp with them and just hammer them to death, full throttle launches on grass ,wheelies for days I've seen them crash from a fair old height on one wheel a few times and it's fine. One of them even landed that hard his lipos decided to vacate the truck 😆.
I'll give it to them though they do know how to stunt them and land mostly, very cool to watch 😃. I do a few jumps and I am happy I landed them even back flips I'll do a few then think nah that's enough I can hear my diffs crying for mercy because I let go far too late on the trigger 🙈, doing that kinda of stuff with your RC even though they can take it must up the amount of maintenance on them and wear on parts buts that's how they play 🙂.
I have a widemaxx truck and i really think these are just awesome, they seem to be pretty much indestructible and so much fun, i do think its maybe even hardier than the xmaxx, i went to a pump track with this and the Notorious, i broke it with bad landings but the Maxx just kept on going

I remember re entering the hobby on a budget in 2020. I had a used Rustler 4x4, and thought right Im going to get serious again. I splashed out on a Kraton 6S EXB, as it was allegedly the best basher out there at the time. I had to start again with a new charger, lipo’s, electronics etc and it wasnt far off a grand all in. It was rubbish. I wasn’t impressed with the quality out of the box. There was play everywhere. I also seemed to break it everytime I ran it. I was so gutted and disappointed with it. My friend sympathetically bought it off me, genuinely because I think he felt for me because Id spent all my cash on it. I used the money to buy an X Maxx (again, my 5th Xmaxx 😅) which I shoudve bought in the first placeand never looked back. I dont even think he has used it haha.
I dont get it though. People seemed to have a great experience with the Kraton 6S EXB, but mine seemed to be a dud. It would break doing such mundane things, that Id expect a Chinese knock off RC to survive, yet people seemed to be able to give them absolute hell and they survive. Mine would genuinely break parts driving in a straight line in my cul de sac. Seriously.
Well lets see how this 8s Kraton gets on together, i will post my journey with it

They look so so good, but my experience with my Kraton 6S EXB left a poor taste and I swore Id never buy an Arrma again!
Funny you say that, i got a notorious last year and its a bit 50/50 for me, but thats mostly down to me, its a stunt truck, thats what its good at, im not and i break stuff when i try, so blasting around a field doing jumps on grass banks its not the most stable, the kraton is the opposite to that as that is more what its designed for and thats what i mostly do, tbh i have always preferred the larger scale stuff, loved driving my 1/5 scale petrols then again the Xmaxx, so the 8s Kraton is big too…….. so hopefully

very nice mate
how does it compare sizewise to your xmaxx ?
Good question, i haven’t run it yet, it seems very well put together and with it being lower slung will handle better, i like all the aluminium on it and it looks bigger next the xmaxx, i am hoping to give it a run this weekend, but i have stuff to do in the garden for the digger coming, so obviously that needs done first, but fingers crossed

Nice one, I'm a great fan of snap on tools, got a roll cab and top box full of them. Need to sell them really as I retired 4 years ago
I like my snap on and mac stuff, they are the sort of tools you only need to buy once and will last you a life time

Well not the postie but the Snap On man, i suppose that counts! My little snap on pliers i have decided they could do with being a little bigger so hence the ones on the right, i was taking down cluckingham palace at the weekend and decided that my cheapo snips needed replaced and the little mini prybars i thought were just cool

I’ve got three more in bits and I reckon I could get one working original one out of them. Some of the original electronics definitely work. Trouble is batteries with the right connectors seem non existent and the crystal tech just seems to pick up too much interference nowadays. The range is crap too but that may be my Tx?
I have only ever driven it in the house so no idea about range, i am sure i have 3 batteries for it, a stand and power bank thing that you put aa batteries into that charges the little batteries in the car. What i don't like was the giant long aerial on the tx.
I think i have a brand new set of tyres still in their bag, am i right in thinking that you can take the wheels off and turn them around for a wider track?

I am pretty sure i have 1 of these, its in completely standard condition
