  1. Added a Top Force Evo, giving me a fair few off roaders now However, Ive said goodbye to a few, more will be revealed
  2. Ok, so Ive had this since September. Lets just look at the facts. I have £550-600 in this buggy. I thoroughly enjoyed building it. I know I didnt need Brushless System and the servo may be over kill. I also have a Slipper Clutch and TA06 Gear Diff, and the spare wheel. But thats where it is. Now I know Im the guy who is used to much more powerful/larger scale R/Cs. Im usually out with my X Maxx, so going to this Tamiya was a bit of an odd choice for me. However, I really wasn't gelling with the BBX. I couldnt help thinking how much better off Id have been with literally any other RTR. I struggled to use it, which is probably more on me. It wasnt good enough off road, and it just span a bit too much. I adore how it looks, and the build, but dare I say it, I was massively dissappointed with the BBX. As I say, its probably a me thing. I compare it to say a Rustler 4x4, which can be had for similar money as what I have invested, and it just doesn't make any sense to me, other than being far prettier. Im well bitten by Tamiya now, and my Traxxas' etc sit gathering dust. I've picked up an Top Force Evo, and my plan was that 2WD was the issue not just the BBX, so I was going to strip the BBX of its electronics, put them in something else and maybe move the BBX on. However, I decided to have one last bash today. I didnt really want to drive around a car park, but I struggled for places to go. I charged up a 2S lipo and off I went.... Ironically I ended up at a car park, because Severn Trent are doing some work on the 'stoney bit' so..... I genuinely had a good time. It seemed to perform a bit better than I remembered. I probably had it out more today than I have since Ive owned it combined! I still spin out under braking far too often, and maybe Id benefit from a slower power system (as the lipo was charging, I pulled out a 1060/Superstock BZ combo to downgrade too) but I had quite a bit of fun. I even moved Severn Trent's cones to make a little track. Here's the Top Force Evo I intended using over the BBX..... Not sure now?? Maybe in the Spring Ill find some dusty tracks and the BBX will come into its element. So for now, the BBX survives the chopping block!
  3. Took the BBX out for a spin, and you know what I genuinely enjoyed it. Glad I gave it one more chance as I wasnt getting on with it before!
  4. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?item=335250796317&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l2562&_ssn=derekpowell911 Thanks
  5. KV, Voltage & efficiency are the main factors. Theres 2 Pole and 4 Pole Brushless motors, and obviously 4 Poles have slightly more torque. I'm no expect but Ive not heard of frequency in terms of RC motors
  6. With this weather we need RC Boats not Trucks haha

  7. I received a Top Force Evo yesterday but was too bust to open it. It was brand new but built up for a very good price. Thankfully, its all there in perfect condition! Truth be told Im not getting on very well with 2WD, especially my BBX, however, I've not even used my Astute 2022 so Im not going to moan about that yet, but the idea was to buy a Top Force Evo and take the electroncis out of the BBX or Astute and use the 4WD Top Force. Unfortunately, Ive fallen into Tamiya's trap. Theyre too nice to use! With my Traxxas models, I couldnt wait to get them dirty, its different with Tamiya. Hmmmm. The Top Force is no different, its beautiful, so god knows whats going to happen. Anyway Its a very handsome RC IMO Carbon Goodness! The Holy Trinity of ReRe's. I really need to build the Avante dont I? My Tamiya Off Roaders. So what's next? This might shock you, but Ive decided after around a year of working REALLY hard and re buying lots of Tamiya's....... Ive got too many, so this weekend Im hopefully going to put 5-10 up for sale........ I need the space truthfully 😞 However, Its also going to allow me to HOPEFULLY pick up 1 or 2 new R/Cs, but everything I want now is too rare or expensive to justify a 1 in 1 out policy. Its going to be more like a 5 out 1 in policy....... '
  8. It all wprked out in the end haha
  9. So im going to tell this story exactly how it played out...... at least thats what my girlfriend thinks....... As I stated prior to buying the Pennzoil R34, I was 'banned' from wasting money on R/Cs, at least for 6 months. That went out the window when the Pennzoil came up...... However, truth be told, Ive only ever 'understood' and wanted the Touring Cars from the 90s when it comes to Tamiya. I started this hobby in 1994, with an M-01 Mini Cooper, and I lusted over the Rally cars and Japanese Touring Cars in Beatties and the Tamiya Catalogues..... Now Im in a better position financially, mainly because Im no longer 8 years old, Ive been doing that. But other than the Hotshot, that my friend had handed down from his Dad. I knew next to nothing about anything Tamiya did in terms of off roaders. However, on my Tamiya journey, I've realised that theres some really special off road Tamiya's that exist. So as Ive been part of various Facebook groups and forums, Ive ended up wanted some of these off roaders, and have been lucky enough to obtain an Avante Black, Egress Black, Astute 2022 and a BBX. For some reason, the Top Force Evo stuck out, and it became a model of interest. Id been eyeing them up brand new.... Recently, I was also lucky enoough to nab an RC10CC, from my LHS, on the first run. I got the text message it at had arrived and straight away went to pay and pick it up. I got home and was like, hmmm. I dont have any emotional attachment to Associated, or the RC10, or even RC Racing. So I stuck it on eBay before Xmas, for a not stupid but higher than RRP price, and truth be told forgot about it. It sat sealed in my collection. Randomly, I then got the notification it had sold, for a decent price, nothing crazy, but hey that wasnt really my intention to profit massively. So off it went. Now back to the Top Force Evo. I noticed one for sale on a facebook group. I never buy off Facebook unless I personally got and collect. However, some beer's may have been drank, and I may have struck a deal for a 2021 Top Force Evo, built but never used. I feel it was a good deal, so off I sent the funds. Today this arrived. Its beautiful! Ill get better pics, but its all there. Now thats the story my Mrs heard. Truth is, I bought this on Sunday, after a few beers, in Pizza Hut for her nephews 13th birthday........ I then lucked out, because earlier today, someone bought my RC10CC that I forgot I even had for sale on eBay and saved my bacon! So the one in one out policy worked, and I even made a little bit of money. MAN MATHS!!
  10. I still have two, I regularly run one of them. Treated her to some brand new Sledgehammers few weeks back;
  11. Managed to get a Pennzoil R34 GTR on a TA03F Some R34s The Tamiya’s plus the Associated
  12. Arent the M2C extenders over £100?
  13. I saw this cool little device on Tamiya Club and ordered it after a few beers. Id forgot about it to be honest. It was only about £25 and it allows you to bascially use a lipo to power/charge USB stuff. Lets be honest theres always something around the house that needs charging/powering these days. Here Im using a 2S lipo to charge my iPad Pro as its a little too high for storage. Better using the power than just discharging it on my charger IMO
  14. So over the past 6 months, 3 of my friends have won a raffle for a car on 7DaysPerformance. One won a  911 GT3, one won a Urus and the last one won a G63 but took the cash alternative …… yet I cant even win a Traxxas Stampede on Raffall 😂

    1. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

I honestly dont like Raffall i had one flutter but found it to invasive, asking me lots of questions on line so i just binned it of, but hey, its making some people lots of cash on YT

    2. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

Tims rc on YT has put up a raffle to win a cross NT6 Unimog but £5 a ticket, its not Raffell so i might risk a tenner, its limited to 180 tickets

  15. Whats slipping? Is it wheelspin? IF youve got no issues with the diffs, look at the wheel hexes/grub screws
  16. I've got a lot of time for Kev, more than most people. However one thing we have/had in common is we have both had multiple X Maxx's. We both started with a 6S, then the new 8S. Then we spent a fortune modifying an 8S one, and putting the big motor/esc in, and then realised that stock motor'd Xmaxx's are actually much better. So we went back to a reletively stock ones, and he has (rightly) been telling people how great a close to stock X Maxx is. We also agree that the ULTIMATE X Maxx Power system, although not rated for it, is the 6s 1600kv motor on 8s. Absolutely perfect. Since then he has had a few more, as he uses them a lot, and kept to the same recipe. Minor upgrades, keep it as light as possible. I genuinely commended him telling everyone that close to stock is almost perfect, and not to waste your money on major upgrades. Then in his latest video he has gone 12S and ruined a £100 set of Prolines in 5 seconds haha. Guessing M2C got in his in ear to make a video. I understand its how to play the Youtube game, and the views will pay dividends, and then it'll be auctioned anyway. But hey, not my place to moan.
  17. Thanks that means a lot! I'm thinking of getting rid of the Evo 6, Merc DTM, Impreza, TL-01 Supra, and maybe the HKS R32 and one of the Focus WRC's (theyre all worth less than £100 each really). I could also sell the chassis thats under the Evo 7 (its a brand new £600 TT-02 haha) To buy a: 58170 Supra 58264 Raybrig NSX
  18. Yea I just dont get why theyre popular when theres an off the shelf proper wide kit that does the same thing properly but hey
  19. Now that leaves me here. I present to you my R34 Collection. Not pictured is the Z Tune R34 GTR, as thats not as racy! I then realised I have the first 4 TA's TA 01, TA 02, TA03F and a TA04 Not as impressive as most peoples, but honestly Id have never expected to be in this situation with a collection like this!
  20. Now, as I say, I hated the TA03F as a kid...... and I didnt even check the pics of the chassis, I just wanted the shell...... but look at this stunner!
  21. Ok, bit of a story like all my R/C Purchases lately. I welcomed my newborn daughter into the world in January, so I decided Id have a break from R/C in 2024, as Id spent a fair amount in 2023. However, I had two RC's I still searched for on eBay/Buyee. The 58170 Supra, and the Pennzoil GTR.... Also, my Loctite R34 build went wrong, and I couldnt let a negative RC experience end my hiatus. Ive not saw a Pennzoil R34 GTR for sale for years, the remarkably 2 came up. One cheap, one not so cheap. I made an offer on the cheaper one, but the more I looked at it, the more it wasnt right. Missing a wing, the wrong chassis, no box etc. So I thought you know what, You only live once, I begged my Mrs, and she relented and I made an offer on the better one. Im going to apologise now, in case the seller is seeing this. I hounded him, the tracking wasnt working...... turned out id copy and pasted via AI and it had misplaced an 0 for a O. So lets not worry about AI taking over just yet, its useless. This is the missing piece for my R34 Collection. Teenage me I never ever thought I'd own a collection like this, peering through the window of Beatties...... but alas I present to you the TA03F Pennzoil R34. As a lad, 3 of us had R/Cs in the Cul De Sac. One had a Repsol Cosworth on a TA-02, One had an Evo 5/6 on a TA-03F, and I had a Focus WRC on a TL-01. Back then, we didnt like the TA03F, the front motor looked weird. In hindsight, its probably the best chassis, and I own all three now.... It appeared hopped up, but looks like these were stock in the box? Original reciept im guessing from 13th August 1999, nearly 25 years ago. I knew the wheel & Tyre decals were missing, but they were in the box Its beautiful! I love it. Its perfect! I wish the windows were smoked but not sure Im going to risk it.....
  22. So I was on a self imposed RC Ban for at least 6 months for 2024 due to the arrival of my baby girl 🥺 However when this came up I HAD to go for it. I wacked it on Paypal Pay In 3….. its a built but brand new TA03F with the Pennzoil R34 GTR, in my opinion, at worst a top 3 Tamiya Touring Car bodyshell….. Im going to do a proper thread on it because this is special to me but for now: Reciept from 1999 Gran Turismo 3 eat your heart out!
