To each his own, are you happy with your rc?? I’m happy with mine, so all good yeah??
that could also be applied to your micro crawlers, how do they fair against your brown F150??
Being roughly half the price (mods aside).
finally for me, the parts back-up, third party manufacturers are one of the most important factors when buying a rc, thats just my thing, doesnt mean other stuff gets overlooked just a bit more thought about.
ive wasted far too much money on rc, more than i would ever like to admit anyway….

@bertberr I have always been a fan of Traxxas and they do make a generally good high quality product although electronics are debatable lol. Price wise I think can be justified a lot of the time. I think its definitely their business practices that are causing a lot of hate these days. This is highly controversial but I think id rather run Traxxas over Arrma at the moment. Never had an issue obtaining spares for my xmaxx and sometimes cheaper to repair than my smaller 1/8th Scale ARRMA cars. I have been eyeing up a Maxx 4s for ages now! Maybe I will sell all my ARRMA cars and go full on Traxxas Mode hehe 🤪

Yep, exactly @bertberr. I dont agree with their morals and how they operate, but they know how to market rc and they have produced some absolute belters over the years.
to be fair these days, i think you have to spend a lot more carefully, whatever you buy. There is always going to be businesses that aren’t 100% morally correct but as long as there is demand, they survive.
quite shocking how civilisation has changed over the past 20 odd years….
anyhoo, ive hijacked this thread enough lol….sorry.

Job screening is the most teeth pulling, anger inducting, violating, intrustive process Ive ever had the misfortune to deal with. No wonder UK has a job issue!!

@bertberr I think its just this sort of company. Its only an Alarm Engineer job, but I do high security sites so I think theres just more checks. Bizarrely I already have all the relevant clearances needed but they need doing again in tjie companies name. Its just so stressful. You get an email asking for something. I send it and then I dont hear anything for a few days. If they just acknowledged theyd received what Ive sent Id appreciate that but its just nothing. Its already being 16 days and the online progress hasnt move 😕

Dread to think how much this will cost in the UK

A good paint shop will do a job that will match the factory finish...but...it's not a cheap process. Rubbing back, blending the scratch, then properly colour matching and feathering in the new paint until it's seamless. Then wet sanding and buffing it. You paint to panel lines and natural breaks to help hide any blending. It's skilled work.
Alternatively...you call in one of those 'scratch fixers' who do the whole job in half an hour.No prizes for guessing which looks 'right'
Dealers want you cash NOW, so you buy it...then they get the scratch fixed before you pick up your car, so if it looks crap when you collect it...it's your car. Any problems with the finish and they will send you off to the pain people for recompense, who will point you at their small print saying the finish is not guaranteed perfect.
They won;t paint it before someone buys it, as that will burn up the profit and leave them with nowt. They know it's actual value just the same as you do, only the 'discount' for a quick sale makes it feel like a good deal. It's not. Don't walk away though ... RUN!!!!!
Came across this when I was trying to buy a bike once. Turned up to test ride it, and the fork oil seals were so blown oil was running over the brakes. Clearly unsafe. Would only fix it if I bought the bike. Another place accepted the list of faults I found with the thing they were selling...and offered me a 10% discount on the repairs.....provided I paid them to do it. No mate. That's not how it works in the real world.
Dealers......are like politicians. VERY hard to find an honest one.

Decided on a new Tamiya project. Its pointless as it will probably be a shelfer, but its cheaper than option #1 (Tamiya 1/14th Scania Truck...... One day!) but we will see. First part of it is out for delivery, next part is one maybe 2 invoices being paid away haha

Really looking forward to Euro 24 starting tonight 😄 It's Coming Guys!

Saw that video and whilst on the one hand, it looks really good, but the stuff thats carried through from the regular Trx4m, nice to see that servo is now fitted as stock too. I just dont have the need for one….although if they did a conversion kit and i could get one reasonably priced, who knows??
I’m still holding out for a Trx8m variant of this great little rc, that id be all over like a rash!!!

After a tough week at work, Im trying a new beer (Cruzcampo), whilst building a new Tamiya. Bliss Friday evening!

You can tell Im getting old. House a few doors up has either bought or maybe rented a Lamborghini. Theyre revving it (it does sound absolutely incredible to be fair!!). But its really annoying me as Im trying to watch the footy haha

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend Guys! Had an extremely busy week for the first time projecting managing a 'huge' (for me) job! Much more money, but honestly not sure its worth it. Glad its over. Time for 4 days off with my Mrs & Daughter, few beers and catch up on some R/C and eBay! Hope you're all well!

So I have an RC on the way from California. I've paid (A ludicrous amount to be honest) through eBay's Global Shipping, so all fee's/customs etc are paid in theory. It left California on the 29th Feb, and it arrived at the ParcelForce Depot 3.6 miles from my house at 10am this morning. Wehn do we think it'll be in my hands? Place your bets!
-
So Ive bought 3x RCs this year. 3 important ones to me. Ive spent £900, which is alot when I said no more RCs for a while. However, Ive made £594 off RC sales, with 2 more to potentially sell. Not as scary as I expected!

With this weather we need RC Boats not Trucks haha

So over the past 6 months, 3 of my friends have won a raffle for a car on 7DaysPerformance. One won a 911 GT3, one won a Urus and the last one won a G63 but took the cash alternative …… yet I cant even win a Traxxas Stampede on Raffall 😂
-
No idea what this is or if its real, but the next Traxxas Snap On Product?

@BlackSeaRC cant get this model in UK to best of my knowledge
-
Starting to feel 2WD Rcs are not for me. They just dont ‘bash’. Im talking about my BBX & Astute 2022. I just cant seem to dial them in to be ‘useable’ compared to 4wd. I appreciate I maybe over powered, but I had this issue with my Rustler/Stampede VXL. Maybe sell my Astute 2022 & BBX for a Hot Shot or a Top Force EVO? BBX looks so cool though! Hmm
-
always found 2wd twitchy as hell and constant throttle control needed etc if on looser terrain, i grew up with it and love it but i can see why its not every ones cup of tea, i had the corally triton converted to brushless out in the snow a while back and it was insane just trying to get it to go in a straight line, i had a big grin on my face the whole time though 😛

Im so proud to announce the birth of my Daughter. Born Friday 5th January at 6:36am. My greatest ever contribution to life ❤️

Im so impressed with Tamiya Polycarbonate Body Cleaner, I think its my new favourite Spirit!

Just had a Whatsapp off the owner of my local model shop, informing me the new RC I pre ordered a while back is due this week….. I didnt budget for that this side of Xmas 😂😂 Ahh well. Itll help them out and I guess its only money. Any guesses?

Pro Tip. Hide your Mrs Christmas presents in an old Tamiya box. Hidden in plain site!

Drifty people. Im after some Gold MST 501 Wheels, but cant find them anywhere, any ideas?
-
So my Summit and E Revo 2.0 have sold, and are now discontinued. They were both epic models, but I dont use them much so 🤷🏻♂️ Now theyve gone, Im wondering if theyll be a new version, Id be all over that! Dont know wether to invest in a few more Tamiya's as theyre smaller and I can justify shelving them and using them sparringly. I need to get back into my Traxxas' and use my Maxx more, looked at converting it to v2 but itd be $200 with the the body and wheels/tyres to gain an inch haha
-
Not really, I hardly used them =/ The Summit is honestly an incredible RC, Id say its the best RC ever genuinely. Its so capable. But I just have more fun searching for and owning Tamiya’s? The Revo is great but Ive still got the Sledge, which is in theory the newer version of the Revo, the Maxx is great, and I have an XRT/Xmaxx for special occasions so everything is covered. I liked having the Summit when we were out with the TRX4, but usually my girlfriend used to end up driving the TRX4, Id use the Summit for a few minutes and then end up taking photos of the TRX4/driving it together.
Ive sold them, got over £750 back after fee’s so if I do buy anything its covered. If Traxxas drop a new Summit, ill get one I think. And as I say, I need to use my Maxx more, as not only is it great, its had so much money invested into it its pointless selling
