aye for the most safest you cannot go wrong with Nihm or nicad. but they do not produce that kick like a lithium product can.

you find a lot of the scaler-crawler guys like to run nimh's because of the weight they carry. and a lipo just adds more power where its not really wanted.

The 900mah NiMH is going in my sons mini as I don't want him messing with lipos.Wells he's only 3 so I won't let him charge the NiMH either

a stock VXL slash can sell for under £200  But a fully hopped up ultimate can still go for £200.

It's more down to whoever wants to buy it, rather than the truck itself, it's the same with anything, you see mega hopped up Bajas fetching peanuts, then a stock ones goes up and people go crazy for it at the same sort of money.

Silly really, but it's good for bargains.

It's also down to the buyer I would rather buy a clean little used standard model than a "hopped up" one. 

im running 17/40 on 4s with an xerun 2000kv motor and it runs sweet.

no good for 6s but then i am happy with the speed this has on 4s.

Good job I can't see the fascination with blue plastics apart from rpm jumping out of them lol. Black looks much nicer.

I mite keep a couple of blue bits like the bulk braces and the toe link ends

I planned on getting all the orange bits on my Baja anodized in black, but it actually doesn't look all that bad when it's very minimal colour, just engine braces, hinge pin braces and shock parts... Quite surprised me.

As its going on a nitro I don't need any special backing paint?

Acrlic car paint works well enough. You can use 'prope' backing paint....but yo don't have to. Acrylic car paints won;t stick to Lexan...so use proper polcarb sprays for your paintjob...but acrylicx will stick to the polycarb paint layer OK. I use Halfords white primer as a backing

Everyone has blue. So I'd go for black purely on that reason alone!

You can yh, though I tend to do two lots of this rate then a slower trickle. Just monitor to make sure it doesn't get too hot - nimh should be warm when finished but not hot.
