Might be my new budget/entry recommendation (if it is as good as it looks), £320-£350 all in with charger and battery is a statement.

And it's a decent looking little truck. I like it.

Pricing looks good, design looks good, styling looks good, parts selection sound good, no STX2.

    Hopefully there's no catch.

even better news is that this is practically Helion Avenge XLR so existing car with different body, wheels/tires and wheelie bar minus dust cover....

I was bit surprised when I've seen it discontinued on Hobbytown but wasn't sure why, now it's seems to be clear

I would assume that existing parts and hop ups will be transferred under TA and fully compatible

So I guess we already also know what to expect in terms of the durability and performance?

will have a look later as a mate of mine wants to get into the hobby and I’m trying to find the right options for him. Trying to persuade him that 1/8 Kraton isn’t necessary to have fun, but obviously that’s all he’s actually seen so far as that’s all I’ve got to show him.

he looks at the 1/10 Kraton and thinks, “why not spend the extra £100”  (And he has a point).

It's more like £150 if you take packs into account, and that's not taking the need for a beefier charger into account (can't charge 3s packs with a 50W charger).

I mean, in general i'd agree, but it's a bit more than just the initial purchase price of the RC itself.

I really like the looks of this one, i might get one for my wife - she liked the Maxx, this seems similar to some degree.

And that's exactly the case I made to him but you know what it's like when someone has made their mind up.

I just bought a DBXL-E that i don't really need, so yeah, i'm pretty sure i know what it's like if someone made his mind up. :D

As long as you explain that to him, he's good to go. Nothing wrong with a 6s truck anyway. Though, as a starter, if this turns out to be good (there's really not much info out there yet, no manual to look at, no detailed specs either), it'd probably be the better value choice.

edit: but of course you'd need to value "value" higher than "wanting" something. I usually don't. My wallet is proof.

yes, if the design and specs stays as is = Helion Avenge XLR , it's really nice little truck, I agree with below after 2 bashing session I did with mine

looks great, will be a good alternative to the arrma 3s granite.

yep, I hope pricing will be competitive as well

in terms of specs (considering nothing change) we can use those from Helion Avenge including BOM

It'd charge my 3s 2200 zippies too, but since we're talking Kraton 6s, we're talking of course 3s 5000mah packs.

$299 as is, $349 with charger and pack RRP.

I assume £299 and £349 then, maybe a tenner more.

Surely it would charge it, it would just take bloody ages as you'd be less than 0.5c

If i have to max out a charger to get half the charging rate, i wouldn't say that you're supposed to charge them with it.

I can refuel my 1-1 car through a macaroni, but really, i mean.. You know.

    I run Rhino 5000mah 3s packs.

I was just correctly your generalisation.

Might wanna edit out your "perfectly" then, because if you're wrong in a correction it looks kinda awkward. You're not charging a 3s 5000mah pack at 1c with a 50W charger. If you claim that, you either don't charge a 5000mah pack or you don't use a 50W charger, since 50W charger have a max output of 4 amps for 12.6V. To charge "perfectly" you need at minimum a 63W charger.

I didn't claim it would charge at 1C, it won't.

You said it CAN'T charge a battery.

Yes it will, given enough time, the battery will be 100% fully charged and balanced.

Is that not a perfectly charged battery?

I'm not wrong in my correction, nothing is awkward :)

You're talking about "charging perfectly" not "being perfectly charged". And yes, while you're trying to come off as "technically correct", you're still wrong. Yeah, it can charge a 3s pack. You can charge a 3s pack with a 5W solar charger. It's absolutely nonsense to suggest getting a 50W charger together with a Kraton 6s new though.

It's still charged, whichever way you want to word it, I know people who actually only charge at 0.5c anyway, so for them, still perfectly charged/charging perfectly, doesn't matter how you choose to word it.

Which post did I suggest someone buys the charger together with the Kraton? (please highlight for me)

I didn't... We aren't even talking about one specific charger, we're talking about watts and charge rates.

I charge my 4s 5000 packs with a 50w charger, And I think it's absolute nonsense to say it's absolutely nonsense to suggest getting a 50w charger with a 6s Kraton when the B6 has been recommended  around here for as long as I have been around here.

Yeah I agree tbh. You don't have to charge batteries at 1c especially if you don't need to charge a lot of them in a short space of time. Charging them up the night before or the morning before you go out should give you plenty of time no?

    The battery is 30c capable, but it doesn't charge them at 30c... as that would be 14.8V X (5a X 30c) = 2220W
