New! New! New! The RIVAL MT10 is a powerful, purposeful, and built-to-last 1:10 scale monster truck capable of running on 3s LiPo battery. The RIVAL MT10 features long-travel independent suspension that is managed by four fluid-filled, adjustable coil-over shocks, giving the RIVAL MT10 the ability to roll over just about anything in its path. Giant aggressive monster truck tires provide maximum traction, letting the RIVAL MT10 claw through the toughest terrain with ease. The 4WD drivetrain includes three sealed gear differentials that transfer the power through durable, slider-type drive shafts to both ends of the truck.

That's kinda rich from the guy who derails any thread as soon as someone dares to say something bad about Traxxas.

Here's an idea, instead of trying to police a group of mates talking about their hobby in conjunction with a new RC release, why don't you just ignore it and move on if you can't bare the tragedy?

Great! Now I've got the "Tragedy" tune going round in my head! Nice one!

I was disappointed when the Helion version of this was discontinued. The reviews and YouTube videos of this made it look pretty good. I bought a set of the stock Helion wheels and tires for my Stampede 4x4 and they are great.

I think I have too many monster trucks now, but if I didn't I would be happy to pick one of these up.

This would probably be my monster truck recommendation for those on a budget.

We've had a couple of disagreements, But as long as it doesn't turn into a full out slagging match I'm happy, I like a bit of friction every now and then.

But I will say I couldn't have replied with a come back as good as that, So

Anyway, To keep doddy happy I'll get back on track, What's with the two suggested prices

    20516 - MAP: $299.99

    20516C - MAP: $349.99

The $299 one is the one on Modelsport for 250, So what the the  20516C - MAP: $349.99.

As mentioned, i'd assume the $350 will go for £299 which makes it an absolute steal.

It's what it is. Friction happens, can't always be happy sunshine. Not just in online forums, i'm not a person who agrees with someone just because they're mates - if i have a different opinion, i'll voice it and disagree with whatever is being talked about. Which, as you mentioned, can lead to friction - but usually i've forgotten all about it 15 minutes later anyways, it's how it goes between lads. At least, i've never experienced something different. On the upside, i don't hold back, so if a mate asks me if that hawaii shirt looks good on him, i'll tell him that he looks like a clown too.

There's no person here i wouldn't drink a beer with, regardless of how heated an argument sometimes gets.

But what is the difference between the two models, CML only lists AS20516.

Quick edit, Sorry forget all that, Just read all of it right down to the bottom and see what the AS20516C adds.

Well how about you take a leaf out your own book, And how about you let me, Or anybody talk about whatever they want, At some point there will be a new bit of news and this thread will die a death like all the hundreds before it.

Also, If you have any new news to add, That isn't stuff your just randomly made up, We'll all be happy to read it.

    Charger and LiPo ;)

Which is why i think it makes it a perfect entry level kit, people don't need to faff around with trying to get a good charger, battery discharge rates etc - just unbox, charge and enjoy the hobby.

In regards to Doddy, "no u" really isn't an argument, unless you're 7 years old. You tried telling people off for having a conversation, that's quite different from me telling you to go somewhere else if you can't stand it. Keep in mind, you butted in here, didn't contribute anything, and started complaining like an old man in the park because them football playing kids are too loud.

At 250  it looks like a bargain, The charger looks OK, No more than you would expect, Being Lipo you need something that's easy to use, Even tho something like a B6 can be had cheap, Can you imagine a newbe turning on one of them for the first time.

But looking at the model number, It's a shame that the supplied Lipo in that kit is only 2s,

To be fair, most people here start with the "bottom end" of power (running 6s trucks on 4s etc). I did too.

Sure, a 3s pack would probably be better for the average user, but as an entry level kit i personally think it suffices. Now, i don't know any specifics of that pack (discharge or capacity), so there might be a catch there - but a 2s 35C 5000mah pack plus a basic plug and charge charger at £50 extra (saving all the hassle of figuring out what charger, what LiPo etc), on my first RC back then i would've taken it, pretty sure. The LiPo/Charger thing was one of the most daunting "tasks" when starting out. For me, anyway.

3300mAh at 30c discharge, So not great, Also $33, And the Charger is $26, So only a $9 saving, And both them prices are individual retail price, So on the whole there not giving you much, Would give that a miss and give Modelsport the extra 50.

From what I remember the Helion version was a tough little cookie but sadly parts support let it down and the electric where a bit hit and miss but those shouldn’t be a problem with this

That's what I needed to hear! :good:

no issues with plastic driveshafts so far, you can always upgrade to metal CVDs (original or MIP) later if you decide, few issue I've seen or heard of so far, cracked front skid plate after harsh landing/bashing (also mentioned in the video posted at the beginning) which is easy to replace and cost nothing https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/299099/  and wheelie bar under same conditions but Rival MT seems to have more robust one so should be OK

Great info, thanks! The fact that there are metal upgrades available is definitely peace of mind. Cheers!

Well yeah, that's not a great battery.

That said: i still think that a newcomer who has no clue about batteries, chargers etc gets a somewhat decent deal there (i personally give "time" a monetary value too, having to do all the research takes time that could be well better spent). If someone doesn't have anything and isn't "versed" in the hobby, i'd still suggest the pack. Or, if it's another father looking for an RC for his boy. That's just me though, i personally of course would take the £250 version as well.

I did, mainly because i didn't feel confident with my (to me, at the time) humongous MT (XXL2e) going 60mph. On the bright side: i fetched a great price because it was basically new even 2.5 years in. With barely any scratches on the powdercoated underbelly, lol.

Started 8s with the DBXLE though, all the future RCs will probably run max voltage.

There is a good chance that model shops may not even stock the full version, Which I wouldn't blame them, Stocking that version just takes money out of there pocket,  Most profit comes from the add on's.

Tbh much cheaper than this and it can end up being more expensive due to how fragile they are.

There are some Chinese bargains to be had and some diamonds in the rough but IMO this price point is roughly the sweet spot.

You're definitely right, but my reasoning behind it is this:

I bash with my brother-in-law. It's fun when we have roughly equivalent vehicles. It just wouldn't be great for me to bash around against his 2WD ECX Ruckus, using a super-1/10th size, 3s, 4WD, 3-diff beast.

I'm really liking the look of the Corally bashers. Yes, they're cheap, but they have full metal drivetrains, are made of high-quality composite materials and are designed in Europe, by Corally, so not yet another rebranded Chinese thing. I can get one brand new for £140 and I already have a brushless system to fit. That's the route I'm going to take. :)

Nothing wrong with Team Corally stuff (other than the name cough), their take on the Kraton, Typhon etc are, from what i read, as good as the Arrma stuff.

Perfect! Yeah, I know their reputation (when it comes to high-end race stuff), is stellar, although I wasn't sure of the bashers. I agree, the name sucks!
