Helion Select Four 10TR 4WD Brushless Truggy

    actionshot.jpg

Seasoned Truggy owners have learned what it is that makes the perfect blend of truck and buggy. At Helion, our design engineers have solicited customer input, listened to your wishes, and made it their personal goal to produce an off-road 4WD vehicle that takes excellence to a whole new level. Enter the Select Four 10TR, a truggy that turns your wish list into reality with its size, speed, and strength.

Take a tour of the Four 10TR and immediately you’ll see where our development team has spent its time. The vehicle’s size is the first thing you’ll notice: 1/10 scale it may be, but with stretched suspension arms and aggressive XL wheels and tires, not only does it look more like a 1/8 platform, it drives like one, too. Add the benefit of four-wheel independent suspension, fully adjustable, oil-filled, big-bore, threaded aluminum shocks, and this, you’ll find, is a vehicle that’ll treat terrain with total contempt and surpass your highest expectations of handling.

Who doesn’t like speed? Truggy drivers thrive on it, so when you told us you wanted more, we listened, we engineered, and we gave you a powertrain with the punch to put you firmly in the lead. Supplied with a premium 2850KV 4-pole brushless motor, a massive 120A ESC and up to 4S LiPo compatibility, speed and torque is not something the Four 10TR lacks. Accelerating to a blistering 35+mph, this one threatens to take your breath away. In fact, it’s so quick off the mark, we’ve added a wheelie bar to aid traction and keep you firmly in control.

We’ve delivered size and speed, but you also wanted a truggy with uncompromising strength; the ability to take a bashing and bounce back for more. The answer is in the use of an engineering-grade composite construction that, coupled with anodized aluminum bulkheads, wheel hexes, shock towers and steering hubs, provides incredible strength, delivers outstanding power, and looks a million dollars!

But, as you’ve come to expect from Helion, there’s much more to the 10TR than this. We’ve tweaked and tuned at every stage of development, adding a full complement of rubber-sealed ball bearings, heavy-duty steel drive shafts, 17mm wheel hexes and, to top it all, the new IKONNIK Xenon ET4 radio system. This advanced 4-channel 2.4GHz transmitter has a Beginner Mode, 10-Model Memory with drop-down wheel, adjustable grips, and left- or right-handed operation.

The Four 10TR — Built with passion. Driven with pride.

    ET4 2.4GHz Radio System

The included new advanced IKONNIK Xenon ET4 2.4GHz radio system has Beginner Mode, 10 Model Memory with drop-down wheel, adjustable grips and left- or right-handed operation together with easy-pairing to other Xenon equipped vehicles in the Helion range.

    Speed

Supplied with the premium 3500kV Radient Reaktor4T brushless motor and 60T ESC, the FOUR 10TR accelerates to a tire-scorchingly quick 55+ mph with the recommended 3S LiPo installed. It’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Our exclusive Total System Protection (TSP) offers bullet-proof temperature and current protection for both the motor and ESC. Just drive how you want – we’ve got you covered.

    Strength

Using engineering grade composites with a modular chassis design offers incredible strength but refreshing practicality. Easily remove the front and rear suspension in minutes for maintenance and tuning. Metal gear differentials combined with aluminium bulkheads, wheel hexes, shock towers, steering hubs and more get the power to the ground and keep you running.

    Appearance

Those champagne anodized aluminium parts not only add the durability you need but the look amazing and pair perfectly with the three striking body schemes available – Cobalt, Emerald and Lava – each working perfectly with the authentic wheels and high-traction tires with detailed white lettering.

Yes. I'd imagine they do. Wheelspin generally shows no stock when they are out. My lhs could've gotten me one last week.

Freeprawnracing and Wheelspin are showing them in stock. Anyone able to confirm?

I'd give both a quick call to make sure and while your on the phone check to see what parts support is like. The last thing you want is a new to the market truck, have a crash and break something to then find out there's no parts for a few more weeks or months .. Wheelspin are showing no spares for this at all at the minute .

They stole the name I wanted to see losi use. Losi 5TR that would be a nice addition to the family.

It's very nice, but it ain't worth the RRP.

Nige has one in stock at the mo....

Well made, nice quality plastics, combo looks nice but is it worth 110 quid more than the SC upon which it shares nearly all components? Not in this man's opinion.

Nige's 299 price is very fair but I'm still hesitant....not even I could get discount on that via assisting FP, ergo I'm not having one.

Nige and I both agree Helion have ballsed up with price point on this, and it makes us wonder if this is why the Intrusion never actually landed for retail, another model priced too high against the big hitters?

Disappointing.... at 250-280 sheets this would make an excellent vfm purchase.

Cheers for the insight mate. I really like the look of it and would love to buy one and review it but unless it's around the £250 mark it's not woth the punt for me.

The Intrusion has a pre order price from what I could find of £229, a 2 wheel drive version of the Invictus for £60 more.

    £250 does seem more sensible.

With the invictus being around £170 which is also brushless and had some good review's how they can think a clone is worth double that is beyond me.

I'm guessing the market would love everyone to believe it's because the pound is weaker against the dollar

Tbf FP was probably doing an intro offer and it's now over as his price matches everyone else. Can't see Helion selling many at 340 quid, hopefully they change their strategy.

The 'market' isn't some self determining entity. GBP is sliding and the UK is rapidly heading into some serious financial deterioration, so expect anything like this to go up in price as most dealings outside the EU are done in USD.

Or perhaps its just retailers using it as an excuse to get us to pay more.

In this case the GBP/USD was 1.318 on 1 Aug, at the time of my post on 5 Aug it was 1.316. Pretty sure that doesn't equal a 13% price increase.

This time last year the Pound was 1.55 USD, today it's 1.31 and trending down. Q1 UK growth was 0.4% and Q2 is expected to be negative, if Q3 is negative, we have a recession. I guess I'm an idiot for actually educating myself rather than sticking my head in the sand.

I expect prices to go up eventually... but not by 13% in what was 4 days. That's why I said in that case it was probably a promo.

The pound is definitely slipping but that's mostly due to uncertainty and retailers will use excuses to push prices. Same things happening with camera gear, their increases are shocking though.

I don't know, but I assume the person who invested in the stock wants to protect themselves from future fluctuations.

Perhaps discuss rather than just immediately resort to insults?

Discussion is pointless when the facts you are using to educate yourself are incorrect...

I guess we also voted out of the EU in 2008/9 too... I must have had my head in the sand and missed that vote....

Edit. Link may be behind a paywall for some?
