Helion Select Four 10TR 4WD Brushless Truggy

    actionshot.jpg

Seasoned Truggy owners have learned what it is that makes the perfect blend of truck and buggy. At Helion, our design engineers have solicited customer input, listened to your wishes, and made it their personal goal to produce an off-road 4WD vehicle that takes excellence to a whole new level. Enter the Select Four 10TR, a truggy that turns your wish list into reality with its size, speed, and strength.

Take a tour of the Four 10TR and immediately you’ll see where our development team has spent its time. The vehicle’s size is the first thing you’ll notice: 1/10 scale it may be, but with stretched suspension arms and aggressive XL wheels and tires, not only does it look more like a 1/8 platform, it drives like one, too. Add the benefit of four-wheel independent suspension, fully adjustable, oil-filled, big-bore, threaded aluminum shocks, and this, you’ll find, is a vehicle that’ll treat terrain with total contempt and surpass your highest expectations of handling.

Who doesn’t like speed? Truggy drivers thrive on it, so when you told us you wanted more, we listened, we engineered, and we gave you a powertrain with the punch to put you firmly in the lead. Supplied with a premium 2850KV 4-pole brushless motor, a massive 120A ESC and up to 4S LiPo compatibility, speed and torque is not something the Four 10TR lacks. Accelerating to a blistering 35+mph, this one threatens to take your breath away. In fact, it’s so quick off the mark, we’ve added a wheelie bar to aid traction and keep you firmly in control.

We’ve delivered size and speed, but you also wanted a truggy with uncompromising strength; the ability to take a bashing and bounce back for more. The answer is in the use of an engineering-grade composite construction that, coupled with anodized aluminum bulkheads, wheel hexes, shock towers and steering hubs, provides incredible strength, delivers outstanding power, and looks a million dollars!

But, as you’ve come to expect from Helion, there’s much more to the 10TR than this. We’ve tweaked and tuned at every stage of development, adding a full complement of rubber-sealed ball bearings, heavy-duty steel drive shafts, 17mm wheel hexes and, to top it all, the new IKONNIK Xenon ET4 radio system. This advanced 4-channel 2.4GHz transmitter has a Beginner Mode, 10-Model Memory with drop-down wheel, adjustable grips, and left- or right-handed operation.

The Four 10TR — Built with passion. Driven with pride.

    ET4 2.4GHz Radio System

The included new advanced IKONNIK Xenon ET4 2.4GHz radio system has Beginner Mode, 10 Model Memory with drop-down wheel, adjustable grips and left- or right-handed operation together with easy-pairing to other Xenon equipped vehicles in the Helion range.

    Speed

Supplied with the premium 3500kV Radient Reaktor4T brushless motor and 60T ESC, the FOUR 10TR accelerates to a tire-scorchingly quick 55+ mph with the recommended 3S LiPo installed. It’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Our exclusive Total System Protection (TSP) offers bullet-proof temperature and current protection for both the motor and ESC. Just drive how you want – we’ve got you covered.

    Strength

Using engineering grade composites with a modular chassis design offers incredible strength but refreshing practicality. Easily remove the front and rear suspension in minutes for maintenance and tuning. Metal gear differentials combined with aluminium bulkheads, wheel hexes, shock towers, steering hubs and more get the power to the ground and keep you running.

    Appearance

Those champagne anodized aluminium parts not only add the durability you need but the look amazing and pair perfectly with the three striking body schemes available – Cobalt, Emerald and Lava – each working perfectly with the authentic wheels and high-traction tires with detailed white lettering.

So why are these companies throwing the towel in?

Helion is part of the Firelands group, set up by the son of the losi founders son, gil losi jr

    Take a wild guess....

Traxxas sued them into the ground, the case was settled earlier this year after dragging out for almost two years

P.s this case was after they sued hpi into bankruptcy over the sealed RX box...but before they tried to sue rc channel rcsaylors and forced them to remove a video which showed their products in an 'unfavorable light'

Is it traxxas themselves or is it the USA governments craptasic patent laws? I think traxxas are just playing cards available to them when they shouldn't have been made available in the first place.

A wheel is pretty much a wheel, a Rx box is just a box, they're sueing people for designing their own Rx boxes that are nothing like a Traxxas Rx box, they're sueing them left, right and centre! I can fully understand protecting your intellectual property, but you can't patent a concept, can you? At this rate, they'll sue anyone who manufacturers a radio controlled car! That's the path they're currently on! Fools.

Most people in the RC hobby are very loyal to the brand they choose, if they continue to push against other firms it will just alienate them pushing themselves into their own demise!

Whats wrong with a bit of healthy competition?

Dunno, I always buy what's best for my budget and use. I have something like 6 Losis and others in bits but happily say that half the Losi line up is rubbish and would never buy something just for the brand name. That's ridiculous.

I've been browsing the Traxxas site for the VXL Rustler 4x4 manual, I noticed this link at the bottom....

    https://traxxas.com/pat

A list of all their patents... a ball joint.....

You can see the link just about in tiny writing here at the bottom  https://traxxas.com/products/landing/rustler-4x4-vxl/

It stinks doesn't it, but using the law in an 'imaginative' way to undermine your rivals and feather your own nest is something we should all be quite used to now, in this litigation culture we all live in.

I certainly won't be buying a new TRX anytime soon (not that I buy new rigs anymore anyway, but the sentiment remains...)
