It doesnt look too bad, quite similar in many ways to the Corally offering also been released.

 

honestly though, i think id be happier with the Corally truck but would happily have either for free lol, still got my oldie but goldie stampede 4x4 so do i really need another “similar” truck???

I got two 6s truggies now and I told myself I don't need two of the same type but wanted try a different brand see what the fuss is about, not been disappointed but I know the other one will sit collecting dust 🙈. Tis the season so might give it a clean and stick it on here see if it sells. 

Another tempting new release.  Seems to do an easy 50mph out of the box with some nice handling and durability.

2in1 esc/rx would kill it for me. no place for that on a so called hobby grade rig at circa 350 quid IMO. but no doubt it will sell like hot cakes because its an Arrma...😉

Guess it saves them money!  DoRC did test the 2in1 vs the previous ESC and he found the 2in1 to be just as good speed wise and very responsive so I think it could still be fairly decent.

I don't doubt it does a reasonable job, but I like to run most of my rigs on my GT3C, to do this with the Vorteks I need to put an esc in as well.  And even if I didn't change anything out, if the esc or rx side of the 2in1 goes out, I'm effectively replacing 2 parts as opposed to one.  And I doubt a new 2in1 is going to be cheaper than a stand alone arrma 3s esc or rx?  I understand it on minis and micros and general budget RC's, where space is at a premium and margins often very thin.  I have one on my little HBX 1/16, and it works well in that car, but on hobby grade 1/10 I just think its a bit of a cop out.

I am guessing the inclusion of the centre diff could be partly to blame.  They had a price point they wanted to hit and by adding the extra diff, they needed to make something else cheaper.

 

Not sure if they were also tying to make a gap between these new 223s vehicles and the 4s v2.5 which also have the centre diff.

 

The older Vorteks used to be more expensive than the rest of the 3s range as it came with a different transmitter which has their smart battery level and possibly stability control or some kind.

 

This updated version brings it in line with the other similar vehicle's.
