  2. So for long-term LiPo storage, I'm keeping them in a tin, in an internal (to the house) garage so no temperature issues and storage charging them every few months. Is that the best way to keep them safe and in good condition - hope so!

  4. 12 year old Warwick Davis while filming Return of the Jedi Warwick Davis who’s well known for his roles in movies such as Willow (1988), Labyrinth (1986), The Leprechaun (1993), and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001) and it’s sequels, also played various characters in the many Star Wars movies. His first outing in the franchise was way back in 1983 when he played the heroic Ewok, Wicket in Return of the Jedi. He was only 12 years old at the time of shooting and was obviously a fan of the hugely popular Kenner toy line that many of us were obsessed with during the 80s. He liked the toys so much that he wrote this letter to George Lucas asking if he could send him some of the new ones, presumably anticipating the mad demand for them and not wanting to miss out. Davis said he was paid £60 a day to play Wicket, but that he was living out his dream so would’ve done it all for free.

  5. Got it muddy! First winter run for the DR8 and I forgot how hopeless it was traction wise with the stock tyres 🤣. Think I looked at 6s Mojave wheels before but never got them.

  7. Did a bit of research online tonight and I think some parts are the same as the Fusion. Menace GTR seems to be the low down road version. Not sure if the alloy parts are Fastrax, they have only been going about 10 years and judging by the dried out rotten rubber tyres and inch of dust which were on this, it likely hasn't ran for longer than 10 years. The shade of purple is the same as the stock chassis so could be hop up parts by Schumacher. The story I got was that it was raced on tracks a long time ago then retired to the loft and forgotten about. I've been through about half of it so far and it seems to be complete and nothing worn out. Engine has plenty of compression. Quite a bit of carbon fibre on it, most is OEM I think. The shock shafts might have been swapped to shorter ones to get it closer to the tarmac. The underside of it is scraped but they all seem to be like that on online photos. This is the car and the body which I later found in a box. The plan is still to give it a once over, see if the engine starts, and then pass it on to someone with an interest in nitro rcs. Seems to be a few people who collect these and refurbish them.

  8. Is this the spur? Also the HPI g3.0 engine is still availabe and may fit with its mount, as it was used in MT2. Never had either so guessing. Try dismantling the engine to clean internals, regrease bearings, as it may still run.

  9. I've given up using FB, never used reddit or IG either. Used to find stuff just got lost in the ether, very difficult to keep track of a particular issue/subject and much of it was utter nonsense anyway. At least here you can keep up with things easier, and its just simpler / more enjoyable to spend a few mins checking out the latest threads / keeping up with the latest news etc.

  11. So this arrived today. Courtesy of my Daughter who is 10 months old. Not too sure how she managed to order this, let alone pay for it (She probably has more money than me!) I didnt think 10 month year olds understood E-Commerce or had any concept of money but fair play to her. Unfortunately its off to Santa now to be delivered to me on Christmas Day! For the record. “She” paid $210.58 including postage and VAT at checkout on Amain so £171 was the charge all in. No additional charges. It was ordered on the 6th and arrived 10 days later. Id have had no chance getting one from the UK as I was missed the original allocation. So to get one at circa UK retail was great Its also factory sealed in cellophane. I dont think UK ones are?

  15. Yeh so that's the exact battery I went for and it's superb simple upgrade for the price and fits perfectly in the chassis mount. Packs much more punch and run time now seems endless (the stock battery was poor all round). Also means I have enough juice to drive and run these new front bumper lights at same time... I did however have an external temp sensor error with the S65 charger that arrived so I sent it back and upgraded to the T100 which is much more capable and also can charge/balance/storage run two different batteries at same time so for just a few £ more it's much more future proof if I ever get more batteries/rigs... https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/skyrc-t100-dual-battery-lipo-balance-charger-444856
