  2. had some birthday funds and couldnt work out what to spend them on. had a trip to the angling centre and got a few bits and bobs and a new rod 😄 https://www.fishingmegastore.com/spinning-rods/abu-garcia-beast-x-casting-rod~63808.html i have been using a 15 - 40 gram spinner and a 40-80 one and now i have a 50-220 one lol figured my little multipliers would be a bit weak for the job and my bigger ones maybe a bit big i also just bought a new reel to go with it and it is a multiplier rod. the 5600 version of this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EUWXFGK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 all that then i bet i catch the smallest perch on it lmao we went to parkley the other day and dad caught one trout and i had 2 trout come right up to the pontoon after my wee wriggler lures 🙂

  3. Personally...I wouldn't care. For some, a painted shell would save them doing it, but how good a job are you going to do just to sell it. Just giving it a quick blast over with one colour might put folk off as well. If you do paint it, then it needs to be a good job, with backing etc. Pick out the details and get a good finish. Sticker it properly and make it look nice. Otherwise..,.leave it clear and let the new owner do what thay want.

  4. Yea my mistake sorry guys. I was getting confused. I thought I had to cut parts of the shell off then stick the bumpers to the inside of the shell like a Pandora shell. Didn't want to take a knife to my new £30 shell and ruin it is all. All sorted now cheers guys.

  6. I have ALT Foams in my Ruptures. They come in various weights…soft, super soft etc and are tyre specific-the ones in my Ruptures fit perfectly. They’re a German company and their website is in German, unfortunately, but if you go to their Facebook page they’ll answer questions in English and help with any orders. I’ve not finished the build I’m using them on yet, so can’t say if they’re any good performance wise, but they have a nice density and are well made. I found out about them on the Hardcore RC group page, and our American cousins that use them really rate them. I also have a set of SL3D Squids to fit the Ruptures and they feel really nice too. The only thing with them is that they don’t come in different weights, so not sure if they’d suit a heavy truck like the TRX4. You could always email Neal and ask his opinion…he’s very helpful.

  7. Wow, that properly looks like a cheap kiddie toy!! cant believe Axial (one of the leading brands in this sector) aren’t doing something a bit better, yes, good on them doing something from the norm. I’d even take one of the jeep versions over this…..

  8. We really need to stop spreading the myth that thicker shock oil helps "stiffening" a car. It doesn't. It slows down the compression/extension, but pressure required to compress the spring is exactly the same. It slows down the compression by increasing pressure inside the shock - all you do is increase the potential to blow the top off the shock, or bend the shock shaft because the shock doesn't compress fast enough. As a rule of thumb. Oil is used to tune how fast your car goes from full compression to full extension and vice versa. Not how much force full compression takes. The only way to increase spring pressure "or stiffness" is by using stiffer springs. There's no other way. Everything else is wrong. Now, you actually do want somewhat soft springs and reasonably light oil on a basher. Within reason. Otherwise they won't last (generally by either breaking the piston inside the shock, or bending the shock shaft). There's a simple test. Adjust the ride height to where you want it (as was pointed out by wombat - directly under the shock cap is a collar that you can wind down, adjust that down to increase ride height to where you like it), take the rig and drop it from 3 feet. That tells you exactly what you need. If the chassis hits the floor, you need stiffer springs. If it wobbles or waves, you go up a little in shock oil weight - it should drop on the wheels, compress the shock all the way without slapping on the floor, then extend straight up without any oscillation to "resting position". If it goes up all the way to full extension and then settles back down in the "droop" from the weight, your oil is too light. That's your general tuning starting point. That's how most RTRs behave at least, and i found it relatively easy to tune from there.
