Just wow!! thats a stunner mate! whats the little wheel nut/hubs like?? Do you think they will be durable enough?? I was forever snapping pins on the 1/10th scale Rc4wd wheel/hub nuts and with these being smaller….. im still amazed at a previous post, i cant get over the sizes of your electrics (ooh err) makes ALL mine look way to overcrowded!! next up for me (the Ir40 is done and awaiting its debut test) is one of those Injora brushless combos, also Furitek have done a set up with the esc in the motor, that looks awesome too, plan is to fit brushless to my Defender and Ir40 and put the best of the brushed electrics into the hi-trail trucks. i can say though that i am really content with my collection now, thats not really happened much in all the years of being in the hobby, apart from a Losi pro moto.3 points

The Clod Buster was released in September 1987, the Big Brute was Kyosho's first attempt at a competitor but it was only 2WD and 2WS. The Double Dare then added 4WD and 4WS.2 points

I guess the Tracker was around 1994. The Double Dare first appeared in the 1989 Kyosho catalogue. First was the Big Brute, then the Double Dare, Hi-Rider Corvette, Big Boss and USA-1.2 points

The Double Dare had twin motors and 4-wheel steering and was very fast but extremely difficult to handle. It was almost impossible to drive in a straight line because the steering servo was weak and as soon as any wheel hit a bump, it would affect the steering.2 points

that looks sweet and dual springs wow, i had the tracker https://www.rcscrapyard.net/uk/kyosho-tracker.htm had it metallic blue and black, i loved that truck, it could slightly out run our gold tub rc10 with the 550 motor but longer acceleration to hit that speed 🙂2 points

Something about the old Kyosho trucks My son had the tracker a 2wd 1 that was great fun but top heavy2 points

So despite having a great little model shop less than 2 miles from my house, Ive been working so late this week (well travelling, the jobs not too bad just the 140 miles a day). I needed some PS4 for my 959. So I ordered online. We all know the 40th/45th Anniversary Porsche 934s are the incorrect wheelbase. Matthew made some custom carbon chassis plates to correct this. As soon as I saw them, I ordered. Theyre beautiful. Theyre perfect. However, their beautifulness really made the Tamiya FRP Shock Towers look pathetic. So Matthew ( @Wystan Withers on Tamiya Club) created some in Carbon Fibre to match my chassis plates. Only issue was Im in the UK, Matthew is in the US and he was concerned postage would be too much. For me the cost wasnt an issue. The product quality meant price was irrelevant. We agreed on a $20 postage cost and I happily paid. Now get this. I then received an email saying Id be refunded $17.20 of the $20 postage. Then imagine my surprise when they turn up 6 days later…..2 points

Got the IR40 back together. Changed to the lay down servo chassis and diamond axles. Just need to attach the body and test. And I'm not sure about the iridium finish on the wheels (not calling them rainbow wheels). With stainless nuts that kinda look like freewheeling hubs.2 points

A few days early for the big Birthday not till next Tuesday but this is my "Me to Me" 60th birthday pressie, big birthday big item, sorry for rushed dodgy pics will do better when i get to run it. So its the Kyosho Toyota Tacoma KB10L Brushless basher, on the same lines as the Traxxas Raptor `R` and darn near same size, this is listed as large 1/10th but in real money its very close to 1/8th and its a fast off road truck capable of around 30mph on 2S and about 44mph 3S2 points

All for the typhon spare wheel nuts, full bearing set, metal suspension joint knuckles, front shock shafts, shock oil, rpm lower arms, charger and balance leads No photo as they arrived just before the wife got home from work so they had to go into the shed quickly, 😀 lol1 point

If you are racing people who are using lipos you will be slower. When i got into rc about 3 years ago id heard the horrer stories about lipos and only used nimh, which was ok then as i only ran rock crawlers. Since then i race an sct and a 1/8 buggy, which would not be competitive on nimh. After changing to lipo i use them on everything, but always balance charge/storage charge as required. never leave them when charging, always use a charging bag and sstore them in a vented ammo can Hope this helps 😀1 point

maybe we just got used to using it but lets not clutter the guys thread with it1 point

it never wheelied unlike lunchie, edit, might of wheelied on first test run and been unstable then u adjusted back suspension for me and it just dipped the back instead of wheelies 🙂1 point
-
lol aye i think we adjusted the back suspension and it was a bit of a beast after that, it teached me throttle control and the fake lamps on the top didnt last for long lmao1 point
-
yeh it was slower of the mark or it was on its roof cos it wheelied if to quick with throttle1 point

The rather unconventional colour scheme actually looks better than I remember. The original 'friction dampers' were truly awful so I upgraded to oil-filled dampers. I found the original receipts for the Kyosho Option House Gold shock absorbers. They were 20.40 GBP for a set of 2, so a total of 81.60 for the whole vehicle. That was a lot of money in 1991! Unfortunately, this only partially resolved the design issues with this vehicle. It was riddled with design flaws that rather spoilt my enjoyment and I always wished I'd bought a Clod Buster instead. However, looking back at it now, it is an interesting vehicle and quite rare now I suspect.1 point

https://www.injora.com/products/injora-4pcs-m2-5-stainless-steel-wheel-nuts-6-7-8-5mm-for-1-18-trx4m Link for the stainless wheel nuts.1 point

@Gaz! Thanks mate. The stainless wheel nuts are just stainless nuts that look like freewheeling hubs. The only downside I can think of is if you loose the tool for tightening /undoing. And they may require some thread lock depending on how they wear. On the wider axles I use the stock width hex's. The +4mm axles are wide enough and I don't like putting to much load on the tiny drive pins. I'm waiting on the injora brushless outrunner, Yodel delivered mine to someone on Monday, no idea where or who, I'm fuming. I've got a few of the Furitek systems, they're brilliant, can't fault them, well maybe the price compared to the injora offering.1 point

@wolfie1 might be right. It might make them angry and sue more company's. @Stormbringer They do deserve a good dose of their own medicine.1 point

Its actually really funny, maybe after having a taste of their own medicine they may think twice about going down this route again………..or maybe it may push them the other way to claw back what they lost, who knows1 point

The Traxxas Slayer was looking a bit thrashed and bashed and thought i would give it a bit of a tidy up, wasnt willing to pay the price for a new genuine shell and wheels as it really doesnt get used too much these days, so onto aliexpress i went, got a short course shell delivered to me for the grand total of £13.21 and a set of short course wheels and tyres which had different sized hexes to fit lots of stuff which is quite a nice touch i thought for £17.37, the end result is not too bad at all of i dont say so myself especially for the price!1 point

The purple inserts arrived yesterday and they did feel a bit softer so i changed out the reds for the purple and tyres dont feel quite as firm now so will see how it goes Also i found the treal shocks didnt have oil in them lol So took them off took them apart and green slimed the o rings and filled with 20wt shock oil and what a differance in them working now1 point

I'm rebuilding the ir40 on the injora chassis for the lay down servo. This chassis fits both Bronco /Defender and k10 /F150 length chassis. The instructions conflict with the pictures shown on their website. The instructions show the front chassis rails bolted on way and in the pictures the other way. I'm going to leave as is for now and see what happens when the axles are connected. I love the size of the Furitek system. The top tray easily fits the mini receiver, esc and Bluetooth module.1 point
