since last run out with injora rock buggy i have been trying to get a set of shocks on it that work sweet and smooth, finally got it after rebuilding various shocks i have in spares so these are from my FS racing SCX10 and work just how i want, plenty of articulation and smooth with out being oversprung pogo sticks5 points

I 2nd the trx4 for being bomb proof and portals are great for the trails, the only weak point is the amount of portal bearings to deal with when you get wet / rusty and the load they take means you do have to replace them often. The element i have submarined and never replaced a bearing and much less off them. Glug glug.4 points

are they copying Arrma by bringing out a brushed version of a popular model ? this is a negative move, im a skinflint, i was recently informed that my wallet is tighter than a submarine door but i would pay the extra bit for a brushless version all day long.....if i were in the market for one4 points

Β£289.00 on MS upcoming, that poor little brushed motor wont last long imo. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/associated-rival-mt10-rtr-truck-brushed-with-7.4v-power-bundle-13474963 points

I love Grasshoppers, my dad had one 35 years ago - ultimately the reason why i'm spending thousands and thousands on RCs today.3 points

Got it running for the first time!! One I finally got the idiot bearing to catch it started easily! After that it was incredibly easy to start however the thing wouldnβt run properly without the glow plug igniter in it. The plug looks and seems to work great so Iβm wondering whether itβs jus too rich! I reset it to factory settings btw. Seems to sound good despite having one of those weird dual exhausts. Itβll rev and sound amazing but Iβve sorta run out of space on msuk so i could only include one rev. It also doesnβt particularly want to run on the ground. You can see the wheels spinning on my hi-tec brick car stand. Any ideas? Thanks to anyone and everyone who reads this meaty paragraph! IMG_3551.MOV3 points

Theyll probably do a 50th Anniversary when the time comes π2 points

A curiosity: 3D printing is a awesome tool but not everything can came out like it should. Sealed Bearings are tricky pieces and demand precision. On the first axles, used the Dremel to proper seat the pinion bearings but was much of a guesswork. To little and the axles halves doesn't close, too much and the bearing gets loose Did this improvised cutter with the right diameter and spacing: Simply fit it and screw the halves while rotating the tool. There's no chance of cutting too much2 points

It's a bit steeper than the Element kit etc, but it's still the best "low budget" kit out there at around Β£300 (i think there's one for Β£308 on Amazon). If you can't stretch to it, the Element is good too - but if there's the option, go for the TRX4 Sport kit. edit: gives you the option for toys later down the line as well, like the 2speed or lockable diffs - can all be retrofitted, and while some people love to hate on portals, fact of the matter is that portals are a huge advantage.2 points

I bought a bass guitar and amp, itβs too cold and wet to RC for me at the moment, so thought I would try something new over the winter π2 points

Messed about with bits of metal, cutting bending drilling and tapping. No proper plans or drawings, very few measurements, just a vague idea in my head and sort of making it up as I go along. Started out making βrock slidersβ but not sure the reality looks as good as I imagined. Might stick with the plastic ones? Or try a variation on the idea? Then got distracted and started making a roll bar for my flat bed! So finished neither job! Reckon Iβm doing a good job of ruining this truck as I keep adding weight high and to the rear. Exactly the opposite of what it needs.π Now I have to put it all on hold as we have someone staying for a couple of nights and apparently they βwonβt want sleep surrounded by bits of your toy carsβ, so I have to tidy the spare room π Iβm 58 and Iβm sulking because Iβve been told to tidy my room π€£π€£2 points

It certainly looks that way, i don't think the mt10 came in a brushed version previously π€. If it uses something other than 48dp spur and pinions, you just happen to have some 2s - 3s brush less electronics lying around and your dead set on getting an mt10 then you could save yourself Β£30. That's the only way i can see this release being a "good deal" personally. For Β£290 as others have said your competing against quite a few brush less trucks.1 point

Crawler shocks, why are the majority of them utter garbage, i think i might do a youtube video showing how bad most of these are1 point
-
Β£290, hm. I guess there's an argument to be made, i'm just not certain that it'd win against the "there's the brushless one for Β£319" argument. At Β£260, there's enough room to the brushless one, but Β£30 difference, not quite sure if i'd suggest this over the brushless when inevitably the next dad asks for recommendations for his kid.1 point

Surely this needs to be sub Β£300 to make sense, but its a proven base RC So1 point

Lurpack butter Β£4.50 Mccain frozen french fries, Β£4 for a 1.5kg bag. Crazy prices. But Bourbon whiskey hasnt really gone up much at all in the last 4 years, so I am soted.1 point

At Β£260 it's good, but Β£380.. nah. There's loads better stuff out there for that kind of money (you'd get a Typhon 3s with charger and LiPo from Modelsport with their power pack for Β£375). And yeah, one will see. I do like MT10s.1 point
-
I canβt see much on their website but they do have a brief page which lists the MSRP as $439.99 (although that MSRP is a bit misleading ) Underneath that value it lists an MAP of $299 which would put it at Β£260. ( Iβm going to say thatβs probably what it will be sold for ) I suppose weβll have to wait and see what retailers will charge for it. If it is Β£260 thatβs actually quite a good deal.1 point
-
Fair enough, i understood it as "there's no Typhon Mega" - my bad. It's Β£224 at Appliance Electronics though, not hugely over budget. And you get a proper decent RC that ticks all the lasses boxes. And it's 1/8th rather than 1/10, easier to work on, easier to drive. So, much like the suggestion to you about the crawlers - if you can stretch to it.. π π edit: https://www.applianceelectronics.co.uk/viewproduct/20457/arrma-typhon-v3-mega-550-ara4206v3bi Free delivery too.1 point

So in the end I bought a set of Vitavon knuckles, I spoke to them about putting a parts package together and they did me a killer deal on a set of knuckles, trailing arms, sway bar kit and a servo bash guard π1 point

Not today exactly, this took a while, but made a drunk driver for the Enduro. There is real whiskey in that bottle π€ͺ Used a Tamiya holiday buggy driver figure as a base and modified it slightly. Probably too much time and effort for something that you can hardly see when the car is running but it kept me occupied for a few evenings.1 point
