  4. ROSSA attempt 3 for the Banzai! Was hoping for 125mp and got 0mph as it drove off by itself as i set the failsafe to 50% breaking.... but on the banzai its reverse rotation on the motor for some reason, thus 50% throttle right into the grass bank. RIP Bent drive shaft, smashed shock tower, 3d printed parts vaporized, smoke poring out of something, new tires shot to bits. Really gutted it didnt get to run, with so much effort put into prep, but thats how it works live and learn. Use the memory function in the remote to ensure your failsafe is failsafe for the car your running and not a safe FAIL.... Decided i wont run it again... i'll put the 108mph gearing back in and its now handed down to little redback to send it and get his first hat as he did outstanding at the event.

  5. Just ordered one, @m4inbrain the one you linked on heliguys was the non DJI radio, but literally this morning I got the stock notification so just placed the order. 😄 I don't have a good smartphone and quite like the idea of just having it as an all in one unit. I missed out on the Fly More kit though, they sold out fast! Did you guys get this? Off to Canada in July so can't wait to get some practice in before I go and get some good footage out there!

  6. The thread on the head button/burn room will be tapered if it is for a turbo plug, which you can see more easily if you take the cooling head off. From what you're saying a standard plug isnt fitting so dont force it. Wasnt it supplied with a turbo plug? The later Hyper engines are using the turbo style plug. To preload the shock spring just push it down by compressing it and fit the plastic clip above. I think you may need two clips to put sufficient preload so that the suspension arms come back to at least level after being compressed. Speed will generally dictated by max engine rpm and gearing. Too much power isnt always best in all situations. I would stick to 21 engine and stock gearing and learn to tune after breaking in. Bigger engines will use fuel more quickly and are sometimes not as driveable in a buggy, but it depends on what you like and where you bash.

  7. The 21 engine revs a good bit higher than the 28 but has less torque A 21 in a buggy is usually ideal

  9. Micro SD card... am I reading this right 128gb is only £20 now?! https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDXC-Adapter-Performance/dp/B07FCMKK5X/ Other bits I'll get some test flights in and see what I feel I need after some experience. The filters I've read a bit about, would you use them much? Is it all depending on the lighting your shooting in? Great footage from such a small thing.

  10. Front diff reassembled with the tekno drive cups. Tekno parts seem lovely. Only issue (similar to ARRMA IIRC) is that the cups are larger than the inner diameter of the bearing so you need to dismantle the whole diff to change the external bearings now. Tolerances on the front diff seem better. I squeezed in one extra Xray shim and it seemed pretty good after that. On the other hand, once installed back in the bulkhead, the mesh between the ring and pinion is just a fraction tight. I'd normally remove a shim from either the diff assembly itself or from behind the pinion gear. However, since (as I say) that would required removing the outdrives from the diff and that the drive cup is stuck on the pinion, it looks like it's just going to have to 'bed in'. The grub screws on the sway bar were totally loose too. I don't know if I've picked up a V1 car (stickers weren't brilliantly applied) but it seems to have every assembly defect int he book. On that... I've figured out why the centre diff was dry. It's because all the oil leaked out into the box during transit. The cardboard below the car in the box is saturated. Looking at the diff I think the issue is that the aluminium centre diff requires an end cap rather than being a 'cup' like the plastic ones. The end cap is made from pressed aluminium and I'm reckoning that there is enough flex in that for it to leak fluid even when tightened down. I've added some silicone gasket during the centre diff rebuild to hopefully remedy this. What a car......

  11. It does have a dinky amount of internal storage (i think either 2gb or 6gb?), but you most definitely will need an SD card. 4k30 at full bitrate is around 4gb per clip, clips are around 5 minutes at that resolution/fps. 128gb is minimum, i'd argue. Make sure to get a quality one due to the high read/write speeds required for 4k/60. There's a few options, if you go backpacking and you don't want to use a camera backpack but just fancy throwing it into the backpack, there's small hard cases for controller and drone that you could get. At the very least, get the prop-protector (they're flopping about when not in use, so there's a chance that one prop extends in your bag and folds over/breaks). Something like this, there's a few options. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ZJRXM-Mini-Pro-Drone-Accessories/dp/B0B1QPPJTG/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=mini+3+pro+prop+guards&qid=1655720637&sprefix=mini+3+pro+prop%2Caps%2C69&sr=8-5 As mentioned, for me personally: prop guards, camera backpack (settled on this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Endurax-Waterproof-Photographer-Mirrorless-Protection-Black/dp/B07JZ6SPH6/ref=sr_1_16?crid=30WC2FYYCD3RH&keywords=camera%2Bbackpack&qid=1655494781&sprefix=camera%2Bbackpack%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-16&th=1 ), extra battery (if you have a decent power bank), set of filters (freewell, polarpro) and a shade for the controller are the necessities. Looking forward to see the footage. I've ruined my first run by forgetting (not knowing, actually) to lock the exposure, and the second one was more about LUT testing, getting a feel for the gimbal wheel and setting up yaw/pitch controls/smoothness. Nothing fancy. Still not happy with the settings, but getting there. The LUT is decent though, so i might've found an easy out to colour grading (remember to record in D-Cinelike). edit: the "choppy" gimbal movement is me, it's not the auto tracking which of course would've made it smooth since it does work well. Just decided that i need to get better (clearly) at it.

  12. overall yes i feel the coyote is the better of the trucks this is just my own opinion, they both have good points bad points but the coyote has always been a good truck, one thing that lets carisma down is slightly poor quality control on rtr models, nothing really bad just things like lack of grease so for me a coyote kit would be the only way forward i may end up selling the Texan to fund a coyote kit build, the tex has great suspension and plenty of power but things like the transmssion noise really bug me, both good rigs i dont think you would be unhappy with either model

  13. I think the difference in speed is minimal, the bigger engine I think has more torque

  15. So I added the last of my stickers and took my new beauty queen TRX4 out…. …….and thrashed the knackers off it 🤣 Who needs a a basher?!?! It goes like a rocket in high gear, donuts and jumps pretty well! Needless to say it’s doesnt look like the top picture anymore 🤣 Its a bit worse for wear now 😂

  16. Do your self a favour and order the LOSB3569 Dif gears, these are much better and don’t seem to require as much shimming, I’ve done all three with these. As you say the QC is all over the place, but I guess are can be said of most brands RTR
