  7. Afternoon all. Decided to get back in the game after some advice from a work colleague. Gone with an Associated B6.3, that was on offer at Model Sport, with an aim to race at Swindon when it is up and running.

  8. Alloy portal covers with brass rings round them. I avoided making this one too heavy on the driveline because the kids have zero mechanical sympathy.

  9. You can just see the pan hard behind the steering link in the first pic . Yours may need adjusting to bring the axle into position? Mine from the front

  11. So, back from the coast and time for some much needed repairs - my mate and RC mechanic immediately diagnosed the problem - saltwater ruined and corroded the stock combo esc and receiver, but everything else is all good - so we installed the Hobbywing 1080 ESC along with Flysky BS6 receiver to pair with the new GT5 Transmitter that arrived while I was away from China... And once all the cables are tidied up will also be adding this brilliant receiver cover that I discovered FTX produce for the Mauler design (maybe intended for the RGT version?) that obviously doesn't fit over the stock Mauler combo rx/esc but I spotted bundled as part of the standard battery/esc tray replacement set... https://www.makeitbuildit.co.uk/ftx-mauler-electronics-battery-trays-w-strap-set-10665 Perfect fit, looks good and more importantly will help better protect the RX and cable connections from future water and mud... Although I've learned my lesson and won't be running through sea water again!! 😅

  12. Not totally giving up on the drag runs just needed a cash injection so decided to let the Infraction go ~ keeping my motor/ESC/spool set up so I can fit in a future build. Putting the Scorched Parts spool actually into the Limitless I have after I've been to the first ROSSA event as the Scorched one is better than the Arrma one in it now. Ultimately I can still use my Limitless and Typhon speed runners for drag runs just means playing with the gears/set up a little before I do so.

  19. Hey guys, Ive been weeding out the collection lately and was lucky enough to get around £1400 from sales. Ideally didnt want to invest much (if any) back into RC as I still have a decent collection that I barely use. However one RC Ive always wanted was a UDR. Its shocking Ive not had one, but theyre a bit niche, hard to work on, and expensive (almost £900 new). I started to “look” at used ones. Emphasis on look. Not buy. I was intrigued but not committed. There is a fair few about all for circa £600 mark. I added a few to my watch list and forgot about them. I was looking at a roller for around the £450 mark and a few others. One of the ones I added was described as in pretty poor condition, it was dirty but. It had a Max 6 ESC which I was going to end up buying. It was up for £599 plus postage. The thing with a Traxxas, you can spruce then up on a budget thanks to Jennys RC….. Few days later I get an offer. Considerably cheaper than the original asking price. Like the same price as the rollers Id seen. So I accepted and this arrived today. It has: Hobbywing Max 6 ESC New Traxxas 2200kv Motor Savox 1230 Servo On top of that it has: RPM Rear Trailing Arms RPM Front Skid Plate Hot Racing Front Drive Shafts Aluminium Discs and Calipers None of that was mentioned so its a bonus Its originally the red one, but has a new Fox Shell. The Red ones not in too bad condition to be honest. Its described as having worn steering so Ill investigate. It all works so will get it cleaned up and a parts list sorted

  20. Thank you. It was a glorious sunny evening. With the aluminium and the battery fitted it weighs this: I know the side balance is a bit off but its mainly down to the accessories on top. Today I've redone the shocks with some thicker fluid, its now 50 or 60wt I think. The damping was pretty much non-existent prior.

  21. Finally spoke to the combo seller, he said it was the Dragon Boat festival the end of last week, so it was a public holiday and he assures me it’s been shipped and will chase it up tomorrow. The servo has been returned to the seller to reship, but again that’s been held up because of the festival. So if everything works out the combo should be with by the end of the week, the servo is still probably 2+ weeks away, so I’ve picked up a temporary replacement while I wait… I’ve run them before and they are excellent for the money, normally around £45, but i got it for £30 new and unused off eBay, so I can sell it on for little or no loss when the Power HD finally turns up 👍

  22. Ahh would have been very noticeable then, I have one and fitted them last week as was sick of bending the stock ones, I have also changed the shocks, but may go back to the stock ones as it seems to pitch one side but not sure if it always did lol Its sure a lot of fun anyway

  38. Well not the postie but I went to a family barbeque last night, mentioned to a family friend I'm into RC. And he's only gone and given me a brand spanking new thunder Tiger sledgehammer s50. It's never been been used and hasn't seen a single drop of nitro.

  40. Have a look here, https://www.quadifyrc.com/rccarreviews/sg-1603-sg-1604-review-and-the-simple-fixes-that-are-critical Some of the fixes such as the shortening of the stock shocks seem to have been sorted as mine didn't extend as far as in the review. and also this guy has a few videos showing some mods https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgyiGHj8F759pVhUnCbHOfg/videos I got the Panther version and upgraded the diffs, shocks and added a set of the black wheels/tarmac tyres. I made a WRC style rear wing too.

  41. The Hobbywing Max 6 feauting dirt Ive since took the shell off and cleaned best I can. Ive put some Corrosion X on some of the rusty screws, and truth be told its in far better condition than described. It was 3 wheel drive however, but I just needed to rebuilt the Hot Racing front drive shaft. Steering seems off but I think its TSM kicking in admitedly Ive only gone round my garden. Some of my lipos fit and it already has XT90s. This is honestly a great entry to the UDR. Plug and play and with some time and effort if it doesnt work out Ill easily get my money back.

  43. Did some more work on the larger front weight hangers. Think the hanger is finished now. Just got to finish design on the wheel part now.

  44. That's what I thought. Any hard bump or movement is going the make the weights swing around messing everything up.

  45. My RGT arrived today and I must say I'm impressed. The only issue so far is the big wheels l which are actually great, are sometimes catching on arches when during extreme articulation. It has already damaged the shell slightly so I might actually think of switching to a hard body. However it looks really good. I just need to work out the lights.

  46. Element Enduro. Stopped steering and servo was too hot to touch. Luckily I have a spare servo but it was bloody annoying.
