  4. I had to do a double take that this wasnt his post 😩😃 That said, the only reason I dont hold the ‘World RC Speed Record’ is because I live in Birmingham and the RC would have been stolen by the time I got back to it if I drove it that far away…..

  5. Hey guys, Ive been weeding out the collection lately and was lucky enough to get around £1400 from sales. Ideally didnt want to invest much (if any) back into RC as I still have a decent collection that I barely use. However one RC Ive always wanted was a UDR. Its shocking Ive not had one, but theyre a bit niche, hard to work on, and expensive (almost £900 new). I started to “look” at used ones. Emphasis on look. Not buy. I was intrigued but not committed. There is a fair few about all for circa £600 mark. I added a few to my watch list and forgot about them. I was looking at a roller for around the £450 mark and a few others. One of the ones I added was described as in pretty poor condition, it was dirty but. It had a Max 6 ESC which I was going to end up buying. It was up for £599 plus postage. The thing with a Traxxas, you can spruce then up on a budget thanks to Jennys RC….. Few days later I get an offer. Considerably cheaper than the original asking price. Like the same price as the rollers Id seen. So I accepted and this arrived today. It has: Hobbywing Max 6 ESC New Traxxas 2200kv Motor Savox 1230 Servo On top of that it has: RPM Rear Trailing Arms RPM Front Skid Plate Hot Racing Front Drive Shafts Aluminium Discs and Calipers None of that was mentioned so its a bonus Its originally the red one, but has a new Fox Shell. The Red ones not in too bad condition to be honest. Its described as having worn steering so Ill investigate. It all works so will get it cleaned up and a parts list sorted

  9. I quite like mine, Im partial to Traxxas and think its a great bit of kit. Ive upgraded the ESC, Servo and geared up. Ive also added a silicon ear plug to the centre diff. Im yet to it bash hard, but its been fine. Im waiting for the upgraded spur to become avaliable before I go too mad. However, lets address the elephant in the room. Its over priced. I accepted this, as its a Traxxas, and ties in with my other models. If youre set on one go for it, you’ll like it. BUT youre not gonna get much change out of £1000 with batteries and charger. Fact is, theres at least similar (maybe even better?) out there for the money. Youve got the Armma 6s range, the, Corally 6S range and the Associated MT8 in that category for cheaper. A bit more speed orientated, but I think the Talion EXB RTR is an absolute steal for the EXB Model! https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/arrma-talion-6s-blx-exb-rtr-1338116 Fact is, look here filtered by most expensive, the Sledge is most expensive by quite a margain https://www.modelsport.co.uk/electric/models/off-road/brushless/18/4wd/assembled-rtr?&sort=PriceHigh Other 6s Arrma’s https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/arrma-kraton-6s-v5-blx-blue-1334288 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/arrma-notorious-6s-v5-blx-black-1334291 Corallys are far cheaper https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/corally-shogun-xp-6s-monster-truck-1-8-lwb-brushless-rtr-1334775 Im not for a second saying the Sledge is bad, its great, it could well be the best of the bunch, but its simply far too expensive. Battery/Charger wise, ignore the bundles, ignore Traxxas’ ID and Spektrum Smart and you’ll save a fortune. If budgets ok, aim for a dual or quad charger, and 4x 3s Lipos. Ship around you should be able to get a dual charger and 2x lipos for less than £200

  13. Superb driving and skills, the difference between some one doing it as a passion vs some one doing it for youtube views! Is this right there... I hope he runs some traps and sets the world record some healthy competition for razz too, only a handful in the world are 200mph in... can you believe the cars can handle this much power? When converted back to real world the numbers are off the charts.

  15. The Hobbywing Max 6 feauting dirt Ive since took the shell off and cleaned best I can. Ive put some Corrosion X on some of the rusty screws, and truth be told its in far better condition than described. It was 3 wheel drive however, but I just needed to rebuilt the Hot Racing front drive shaft. Steering seems off but I think its TSM kicking in admitedly Ive only gone round my garden. Some of my lipos fit and it already has XT90s. This is honestly a great entry to the UDR. Plug and play and with some time and effort if it doesnt work out Ill easily get my money back.

  24. I’ve missed not having a largescale and having had a good few months at work I thought I better get another in time for summer 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve ordered all the electrics, but still need some decent spec lipos, so I better get back to work for a few hours to help pay for them 😂😂😂 Leopard 58113 v2 1050kv & BL5 Esc (Max5) combo and a Power HD WH80kg servo More pics and info to follow later this evening 👍

  27. Well I wanted to pay for them using Nectar points on eBay and the only full set I could get was in 40shore hardness so I ended up going for them. I wanted to get the 25 shore hardness to be honest but like I said was trying to use Nectar points rather than my actual cash. The good thing is that if they don't work out for the drag runs I can at least use them for my speed runs. 😀

  28. A Pumpkin was the first rc I bought new - to replace the tamiya fox I'd bought off a mate after I destroyed the chassis lol. So much fun popping wheelies everywhere in the street thanks to the uprated motor, tho made it a handful at the indoor race meet I used to attend. Really thinking about getting one for fun but want a traxxas UDR too - and the wife will probably kill me whichever way I go lol

  35. Chassis done! All standard… except the 3D print 1080 holder, the Bowhouse LCG tray, the alloy Yeah racing servo mount, Bronco arches with clip fittings and 2 speed gearbox. But except for that all standard 🤣 I will add these pictures of the Bowhouse tray, note the different rear chassis brace which is pretty sturdy. I have put 3mm shock spacers under the tray mounts so I could run my cables underneath without crushing. Downsides - Hobbywing 1080 is a bit tight on receiver lead if you use the standard receiver box - I put an extension servo lead inside rather than have it taught. Also the standard Traxxas grub with the 9 tooth pinon is proud (of the teeth)and extremely close to the spur, so I did slide the pinon further out (off centre of the spur) just incase. The motor mount is an alloy one but both this and the factory one still wobbled the top of the spur housing, will keep an eye on both those things. Reading forums its seems quite common however. I may swap the pinon out after a test trail for a larger one yet. Other thoughts? I will say its bloody heavy - It is built like a 70’s Mercedes and weighs the same too! Front rear balance - with a shorty battery it tips forward, with a regular battery it still tips forward too.

  38. Your comments are really out of line and this is not the first time i have seen toxic comments from yourself, i am really surprised the admin/mod team has not suspended your account on here a well known speed runner takes a world record and you try to pull it all apart with false claims of it being fixed, that is not nice at all

  39. Nope...Birmingham is fake. Unless you show whats inside it,

  40. No he doesn't actually. Showing what he has under the shell has no effect on the validity of the record. He's put ALOT of hard working and testing into this, why share that just for some other mug to come around and copy it? If your only argument against this record is that he hasn't shown what is he running then its a pointless argument. What he is running doesn't matter.

  41. That step ladder was FAKE. WHY he use stepladder? Real rc people not use ladder. I have info RAZ not use ladder, maybe can't say too much RAz not USe ladder!

  42. I dont care for speed running personally, but I am extremely happy for the guy in video and his genuine joy from this run. This is what any hobby should provide. Thats the point of hobbies. Ive also learned from various other hobbies. Just cause someone tells you exactly what theyre doing/done, it doesnt mean youre gonna do the same……. I could ask Kevin De Bruyne what exactly he does to be decent at football, doesnt mean itll translate for me. Just be happy for the guy!
