  2. Dried it out over night and it flies! That's after hitting a tree and nearly losing it to the river. Then my dog snatched it out the air and dumped it in the river. Fortunately it's not a very deep river. Drone death.mp4

  3. Day off so applying the decals (stickers!) on the Ranger Shell. But.. Now I’ve done one side I’m not sure how keen I am. 🤔 What do we think folks? With, or without? (As a side note, this could just be laziness because I hate this part of prepping a shell and can’t be arsed to do the other side 🤣)

  11. cheers bud, you could try one they are pretty cheap and a good build as usual with tamiya, this one was 101 quid with no esc but it did come with the torque tuned brushed motor and oil shocks 🙂 edit: forgot to mention it only comes with plastic bushings, i was gonna replace the bearings on my dt-02 sandviper so had a ball race kit kicking around from rc bearings, so add in the cost for bearings as well.

  19. were hopefully going to be popping up to pennistone to play with our mt10s so well probably pop over and say hello but it'll be closer to 11 for us due to public transport and walking up from haworth, those who don't know where it is there's 3 ways to get to that carpark pennistone hill depending if you're coming from haworth, stanbury or oxenhope, (a route came up on my maps but the last bit is a cart track up to the cricket club off a tight road that sould be avoided) if anyone wants any help I'm happy to post some street view directions for the best way

  20. No the hangers are fixed to the hubs. They don't spin.

  21. You can see in this pic the most extreme version of the hangers. As you can see the weights are fixed to the axle hub. And then sit right down inside the wheels. And you can see with the car picture how they work.

  22. So with the hangers. It places a set of weights below the axle hight of the car. Making its cog as low as possible and putting weight right where you want it most. The tyres. And. It having the weight high up. So picture of the full car is a single weight hanger for a stock beadlock style wheel. It drops a small amount of weights just below the axle. This helps wth cog a little. The extreme version is the picture of parts of a wheel. This version cuts out a section of the wheel and gives space to hang a bigger amount of weights right down inside the wheel. Dropping cog as low as possible. The last 2 pictures show the 2 style of wheels I have designed. The full wheel is a more standard wheel. It has 2 faces. And 6 spacers to join the 2 faces together. Giving a open space of around 44mm. The other wheel is the extram version. It has the spacers removed and pushed down inside the wheel. This gives me around 75mm of space to put a weight hanger in. Giving twice the amount of weight even lower in the wheel. Giving the best cog and tyre weight possible. We don't run any weight in the wheels. As this is the worst type of weight to have. The hangers are fixed to the axles eg the ar60 in my case.

  29. It should be better for all aspects. The battery is now around 20mm lower, I haven’t had the chassis for long enough to give a decent comparison verdict

  31. I've just joined this forum. Great reading about your Kraton EXB as it's the same spec I went for, apart from the radio. I had the same experience with my first run and flipped it but unfortunately it was on tarmac so a nice bit of roof rash, along with the wing and front body post. I've always been a little worried about motor temps but I recently did some flat out runs on a playing field and they were fine with a top speed of 57mph. It's a fantastic model, great fun and a bit nerve racking at times!

  32. Awesome colour choice! Fae recent experience ah know these colours don't come out as good in pics, would ye say this'd be a good choice for a retro marlboro job Yrkoon?

  33. Between these 2, I would choose hexagon screws. I find them much more useful than Philips screws because they are easier to tighten and loosen thanks to the 6 sides, and you can access them from 360 degrees, provided you have room to move your tools, while with Philips screws, the process is much harder. But the disadvantage for both is that they lose weight very quickly and have to be replaced over time. I consider that there are much better screw alternatives, such as self-tapping screws, because it has much longer durability and requires minimal preparation.

  35. I should probably start to look at getting a crawler... how about this? https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/element-rc-enduro-trail-truck-knightrunner-rtr-1339015

  36. That looks pretty smart, I am finding to me anyway it handles better with the battery over the rear. I don’t do extreme side climbs though…
