Getting the trucks ready for a crawl tomorrow, keen to test the winch and tweaks to the gatekeeper among other things. Deadlifts the truck no worries.7 points

Yesterday I received a little trailer for the TRX4 thanks to a couple of extremely kind and generous people on here π6 points

Well its just about done, it runs, steers, so i fitted the metal servo mount and 35kg MG servo and alloy arm, installed the DumboRC radio, set up lipo mode with drag brake on esc, things left to do......... sort some better shocks fit lights when they arrive Tidy wiring a tad then pretty much run it..................... This has proved to be very much a true budget crawler and a nice change from the scale rigs, because i already had the wheels/tyres, radio and esc my total outlay is in the region of Β£122 this is the chassis with motor and axles servo, alloy arm, spare front CVD set servo mount and a light set.........im well happy with that6 points

Had another great run out with @Ant.p this morning in the glorious, Spring-esc sunshine at our little BMX pump track. Only had the N6 with me today but ended up putting four lots of batteries through her and she flew all day. Really starting to enjoy this car now that I'm using it in a more open, more airborne way. No real damage, although I have ripped out another front bumper mount - which was my own fault, getting a pretty bad landing right on the nose. The ground was super soft, so thankfully it seems that the damage is only to the mount and not the chassis. Really chopping through these, think I'll go for something else next time. Was hard to tell at the time due to the bumper being a mess but the chassis still seems to be OK. When the car was dry and rid of most of the chunky dirt, I had a few beers and started doing some chores on it. Couple of cheesy vids from today, (thanks to Ant), it felt good jumping today but sadly the videos make it all look pretty sketchy π. I think next time we're going to go visit some woods and maybe grab the Go-Pro π.3 points

Iβm not sure Iβll be doing it regularly given how much of a pain it turned out to be. Though I guess Iβll just have to wait to see how long it lasts now.3 points

Was another great day. Perfect weather for it, even if the ground was a little damp. That front flips so sketchy it almost looks like a backflip π2 points

After getting into the hobby last September, today I picked up my second RC. Incidentally it was also my sons first time in a model shop and he was totally blown away by the crawler track, stacks of cars, models, tools and spares - loves it he does. I already have a Granite V3 and have picked up this Notorious 6S as an excuse to pass my Granite onto my son. We got into this last year during the Pandemic like I expect hundreds of others have. Anyway, I'm just enjoying a glass of red wine and going over the truck, manual and parts. Then tomorrow we'll run a few packs through the Notorious and the new 2S pack I got my son for the Granite. It's such a rewarding hobby.1 point

I caved in and took it for a run at the back of the house and it shows good promise but plan to take it to an old quarry early in morning1 point

No....this is not something 'wrong' as such. If this is a new engine, you need to run through the break in process, and for this.,... the engine will be set up very rich. The fuel also contains the oil that lubricates the moving parts. So more oil is needed while the motor is broken in. You may be getting a build up of fuel in the engine which is c ausing it to run erratically and seem to have a mind of it;s own. Have you read up on the process needed to break in a new engine? If not....you really need to. Also check that your carb is set up correctly at its base settings. Should be in the manual. Idling a motor like this for any length of time is never good forhappy running, as they are designed to be running at high rpm.1 point

Most likely this is a rebrand sold under the Tamco brand. If you can find out which truck it is....then getting parts and upgrades gets a whole lot easier. There would be a wider market.1 point

I found the YouTube explaining why it's pinging. Going to use the pinch test for the LSN, then tuning should be complete ππ» π1 point

I totally agree.I am keeping my outcast 8s and 6s but no more arrmas and the like for me.I bought a hyper gt roller new for Β£270 odd a couple of months ago and the quality is better than my arrmas even at such a low price.1 point

Ordered some HD parts from rc4me.us and this is what arrived in non HPI bags. These are knockoffs as the tranny outdrive (lower left unit) is slotted in the middle compared to the pic that was posted by leongordon234 on page 96. I also noticed the slots are not completely straight compared to the stock unit. The site uses HPI HD part numbers and is misrepresenting the product being sold. Please avoid buying from them.1 point

Looks a quality piece of kit. Does make you wonder how Arrma, Traxxas, Losi etc arrive at their RRP's.1 point

Looks like i have done a lot but no such luck, cant really do much till servo mount arrives, i have added some stickers, stripped, greased and put oil in shocks, not a lot better, worked out i will mount ESC on under side of roof panel this gives a good cable run and makes switch nice and easy to get to, that is a 2200mah 2s just offered up to see how it fits1 point

Cheers man. Yeah, so took this out yesterday for the first time and ran two sets of packs through it. Most obvious difference to my Granite is the heft, understeer and pace this thing picks up. Drivetrain makes a good noise mind. Will have to considered larger areas/spots to run it and with it's larger size and increased pace I'd feel better in larger spots. The understeer is horrific. Even off the power and turning in, it just scrubs the wheels. Gave it a good run on short grass, medium length grass, gravel, dust, tarmac and then mud/wood floor. Towards the end of the second set of packs I was starting to get the handling of it and was sliding the car to get it into the position I wanted. Great fun, awful lot of punch on tap when I need it and makes a cool noise. I'm going to leave it stock for a while longer and try some different spots/areas and get jumping next. My boy who inherited my Granite, (albeit on a new 2S pack and with the throttle at 50%) burnt through is pack in the time it took me to get 3/4's through my first set. Because it's dialled in a bit and the space allowed it, he just kept it pinned the whole time - he had a whale of a time though !!1 point
