  1. So, I don't run much on road, rarely have over the years - but I've always had a soft spot for a nice on road rig. Being a Hobao stalwart I wanted one of these many years ago, and missed the clearance sale of UK stock by dithering over the price. Used ones come up from time to time, but never clean enough I'd buy, at a sensible price, or cheap enough to work from. So when a BNIB One-Seven Evo came up for sale I couldn't miss out. Box is quite tatty sadly, however the important bits are new, not just mint. Some better photo's to follow but he she is.

  2. A lightly used traxxas Mini ERevo, after seeing @Kpowell911 collection I fancied one. Goal is to turn it into a summit so I really only wanted the chassis so I'll sell the rest of it on. It looks like it's been used a handful of times.

  5. My bar can’t be set by @GMballistic’s standards, I don’t think I’ll ever manage to get results that good! if I got even close I’d be well chuffed though. I’m starting to feel more confident about a victory 🤣

  6. Haha, thought it was emulsion for best results? Yep, consider this ‘challenge accepted’ 😘

  7. Oh it's on! @Bert_w164sMrs need your make up/painting skills and creativity for this. It seems young Ant is taking my "prettiest looking losi shell challenge" seriously. 😁 Use crayons mate, best result.

  10. Hi guys, I'm based in Farnborough in Hampshire, and glad to be joining the forum. I used to have a Hotshot II back in the 90's (traded for it with a mate for a pair of Air Max 90s😂). My little bro used to have a Black Foot. I stumbled across Tamiya again on the weekend somehow and and I'm now set on getting a car again, going to visit a localish store tomorrow. I'm looking for a bit of nostalgia, so really glad to see all the re re's that have come out over the last couple of decades. I'm looking for something to build and to play with my son, and he's gonna like jumping it, so thinking of a Mad Bull or perhaps a Blitzer Beetle. Are those durable? Well for a Tamiya anyway Any advice would be very welcome, in particular on the selection of a first purchase back into the RC world. Also, I see there have been advances with motors to brushless and Ni-cad batteries are a thing of the past now! 🤔 Cheers!

  14. Oh I had a Combine and a land rover with it's attachments on a trailer and the obligatory cyclist 😂

  15. That is just how it goes sometimes unfortunately, but I wouldn't say your ride had everything... I think it was missing the only two things that are worse than what you listed... tractors.... and cyclists 😋

  16. I sanded it back down in fine grit paper to remove the overspill, then crashed the hyper, paint cracked and left it all mattified since then...Stevie Wonder probably would do a better job 🤪

  17. That looks very scale @Jack Reacher

  18. Had an eventful little ride earlier, it had everything Road works, Cows, oblivious old people in their hybrid SUV's, more cows with little cows and more road works.

  21. Same mate, as you know I have so far made a hash of all my paint jobs, either doing them on the outside or poorly preparing. A bit of friendly competition is good motivation and I'm really looking forward to the results. Your bar is automatically set high given the amazing job Gareth did on the shell 😂 where my bar is set off a green shell that's now missing paint.

  22. Thanks for all the tips Guys. I’m planning on painting a losi 8ight shell: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/team-losi-racing-body-clear-8ightt-e-30-408775 Will definitely be looking at the Tamiya paints. I’ve used core rc and was a little underwhelmed. However, being the amateur I am, it was likely user error. this time round I’m going to do a little homework, with this thread being the starting point.

  23. I think your skillset is more suited to crayons xx

  24. I just painted a 1/10 body with the core RC stuff and I wasn't impressed. It does look nice but I had to use the whole can of red then backed up with silver.

  25. Hi its a 1/6 scale so I need plenty of room and would rather not worry about bashing into kids on their bikes, I checked out pump track at burgess Hill but looked quite small tbh.

  26. Defo tamiya more expensive but goes on alot better than most of the other brands i rarely do more than 2 layers with tam paints 👍

  29. Personally I always go for tamiya, it's slightly smaller however I find it's best.

  30. Yeah it’s the buggy rears all round 👍🏻 There are many options for premounts - these here from China, type 2374/2376 for £5 a pair or these guys from the uk. If you Google 1/10 buggy rear you will find many including a plethora of on road options 👍🏻 The slash - yeah tbh the merv is like one of my most favourite rc’s ever. With full rpm arms/knuckles they are practically unbreakable (given sensible usage). Because of that I often consider the slash but then always end up thinking “but the merv will just be better” and don’t bother 😂

  33. Started a new build. Again lol. This time a half car ar60 crawler. Nice and simple. No extra ****. No lights. No 2 speed. No nonsense simple fun to drive car. Need to order come carbon to make rear bed sides/ shock mounts

  34. Plus one. 😎 Been working on several of my cars but mainly enjoying doing some little mods to my Losi SBR 2.0 truck. Decided to try taping the insides of the tyres to try to stop them ballooning as much and whilst they were apart I painted the bead locks blue. Unfortunately the colour is a little lighter than I was going for but it's my own fault as I used a white plastic primer when really grey would have been better. Still a nice bit of colour and tbh it is kind of close to the blue on the King shocks. Crazy how long they took to reassemble though even with an electric screwdriver ~ over an hour and a quarter to do 6 wheels/tyres!

  35. Got the Maxx Shell mounted using the new cage that has been back ordered since forever, also replaced two tyres that I blew To celebrate, for the first time in I think forever, all my Traxxas Model were in one house, not scattered so thought Id snap a pic 🙂 I'm quite proud of this, because other than the Maxx and Xmaxx (which share the same TX) all of these are independantly RTR, with batteries etc

  38. Also from the postie this time (From DMS racing) A little Lipo for the Tx and some bling washers

  39. Not the postie, but my dad dropped of an old Ammo box of bits from my Pro cat, which included an old Porsche 911 shell ( still in good nick, just badly painted by 14/15 year old me) 2 x Demon power motors (not sure if these work) ,an old Acoms servo and various plastic parts and some bits for a ball Diff.

  40. Day 2 was amazing, didnt manage king of the mallet as lots of entries and simply would have taken up to much of the morning, also didnt want to ruin the trucks before completing the trails ahead. Trx4 came away with no breakages, still running stock servo. 😵 A great event for young and old, steady footing and study shoes critical as wild dinosaurs are on the loose around the track! Really worth the trip! Gate 13 "not acutally gate 13" was a real challenge, didnt make it but enjoyed watching others attempt it more than holding up the queue and doing it myself. The highrock did well the whole weekend but didnt do all the gates the trx4 did, was fun either way till it killed another servo. The forest trails 200 gates of hidden gold! Day 2 victims, 1 servo Total damage tally - highrock 2 etronix 28kg servos, 1 outlaw diff Well done to the SST team for such a cracking event, cant wait to see what next year brings!

  43. I just saw the LC Racing have a set of inner fenders and mud flaps for the PTG-2. I rather like the look of these, if you could buy the chassis as a kit I think I’d be tempted enough to push the button one of these now even though I’m not sure I have anywhere good to drive it.

  46. Hello!!! Luckily, the weather was clear and it was exciting for the summit. It's perfect for a summit on a nice day with good weather. 47. Well as Recon is not happening this year then yes it is. Funduro is far better than the G6 and yes I have been to both.

  48. I avoid the Midlands at all costs... 🤣 I've also heard stuff like.... You park on a field at bracken rocks.... then have to walk for a while to get to the trails themselves at recon... I'm also guessing it's run for profit...
