  4. Fitted the Proline Hyrax and 2.2 Beadlock wheels, there is a bit of a bind at the front when on full lock though, so have some new deeper hubs on the way for the wheels. moved the little scale MSD ignition modules and fitted some little fire extinguishers.

  7. Fitted the wheelie bar to the 144001, it's off of another truck however with a bit of trimming it blots straight on. Once the floor arrives the two screws further back will be attached to that. Please excuse the two black strips, they are wedges so once the carbon fibre floor arrives there won't be a gap where the chassis bends. So far i'm sitting under £160 (including 1 battery) and there's not a great deal left to order, so will defently come in under £200 which I'm pretty happy about.

  9. As the batteries arrived, thought i would see if they fit as begun to think they might be to deep. 4s yet to be tested but getting decent mha 4s batteries in these little cars seems tricky, I went with 2x 100c 4s 1600mha drone / flight packs. They just fit. There is literally 2mm space before they would be hitting the top brace, got lucky. I will run them in parallel to make 3200mha should be enough for a good couple of runs and hoping having it drain from 2 battery sag will be minimal. Time will tell.

  10. 🎶 🎶 🎶 "Oh, Happy Days" 🎶🎶🎶 TGIF: All couriers joined forces to deliver all the goodies together on Friday. Ordered from MS, eBay & Amazon on different days. They all came today. After sitting 12 hours in front of the computer, a happy evening is scheduled: Make my homemade pizza Eat pizza with family movie 1 Ep. Startrek Discovery (alone with beer) 1 Ep. The Mandalorian Then turn the extra/incomplete Carnage into a mean machine (This time blasting Amon Amarth into my head) (3S)

  11. High speed gears arrived, no other changes, hit 61mph on 3s with ease didnt even get close to maxing it at most this was 60 - 70 throttle. New personal best, 9mph off the target, easily will do 70+ without any further changes. 4s is the next step along with motor timing changes, will post updated build pics later. Edit: Some tastey data. Chuffed to bits 🙂

  12. Gotta laugh, a Hoboa specific thread turns into an Arrma thread, no not getting one and from what i see the Mega really is built "down" to a price, cheap controller and all

  21. To fit in the bigger pinion need to cut the chassis a bit here. The Traxxas spur didnt hold up as good i had hoped, might have a nother couple of runs in it, its a tad deeper than a stock one so cant use slipper pads. or the shaft pins wouldnt hold the slipper plates. Might need to find a new way delivering the power to the drive cups, this driveshaft is going to be a failurepoint, not sure if it was damaged from the run, but as i held it in the air and spun the car up to see how the tires react at near max rpm, i noticed the car vibrate then it got worse and worse. No more speed runs for a little bit. Good start and impressed it handeled the power its already been fed.

  24. Well, a slightly better painting day today, not perfect but better. I managed to get a coat of paint onto the hull, not sure the waterline is right (tried the pencil approach and failed due to having 2 left hands), but it will do for this first attempt. It needs a bit more finishing, but am happy with the colour (has a change of mind and went sky blue in the end) and it should finish up okay. The 3M vinyl masking tape was joyous to work with and gave a nice crisp line.

  25. Managed to get some paint on the boat hull, nowhere near as good as I hoped and still needs some work but at least it is better than the last attempt. I do like decent 3M masking tape.

  26. You know I think this is great, free entries are spot on but even paying for a “ticket” so to speak still means a great prize for little money. winner/winner only downside is Facebook, I’d rather pick my nose with a chainsaw than go on there.....

  29. Any way, I asked some questions and got good answers, the Hoboa is not happening, so we move on, I would just like to politely point out I won't be buying an Arrma

  31. I think youre all missing the ‘SSE’ part of the post! Hobao and Hyper are usually great RCs. The SSE/SSTE range are awful and should be avoided at all costs in my opinion. Theyre so weak. The VSE is supposed to be very good however.

  32. Ok I may have got a temp fix but also a good one to keep all the cables neat and actually faster to take the battery out than with the posts/clips and harness way. Had to turn the battery on its side though as it would not fit in otherwise so definitely not getting a battery box in there ! A narrower strap and clip may work better.

  35. Not 100% sure but as it’s got tracks, I suppose it lives here..... got my Kyosho Trail King yesterday. now if I’m honest, the item was/isn’t exceeding my previous excitement. The seals on the box had already been cut. I previously had a blizzard that had a completely different drive set up and was better than this current design. It just feels a bit flimsy in hand, the tracks have tons of slop in them and feel like there almost borderline coming off and it’s a handful to control using the supplied transmitter, I was hoping to be able to use my DX5R transmitter but don’t think it will work using the 2 esc’s in the current set-up. here’s the unboxing pics, some of the decals weren’t cutting it for me so “doctored” them and this is how it stands right now, more to come I guess....

  37. I've sent off for a WP-1060 A ESC after a conversation with a local model shop. i feel sure they were impressed with my (received) knowledge. I'm assured it will be just the thing for me, by which I assume they mean someone who hasn't much of a clue. I feel the grandkids drifting away a bit, despite the Zooms and shouting across the drive. If he thinks of us every time he drives it, it's more than worth it. When he breaks bits, he'll know granddad'll fix it. My son-in-law can buy the transmitter batteries though. Thanks again.

  40. Wrapped like a XMas present. lol. Reminds me of some old stories of East European cars entering Germany in the 90s. Their engines were tight to the chassis with rope... Seriously, you might have to be a bit careful when bashing. The strap below the car could tear and then make your battery go for a flight.

  43. 1. Yes. 2. Guess it's just the ESC telling you it's working. If you haven't done so already, it's worth reading the ESC manual which you can download from the Maverick website. 3. Yes, a buzzing/beeping noise is perfectly normal.

  44. Repaired and bashed the Senton. Noticed how clean and nice it was inside the front diff, considering it has never been apart to my knowledge, note my grease is red, this is greeny/blue which comes with the Senton. This thing has been covered in mud, water and snow sooo many times and not a spec of dirt inside, I am quite impressed with that. There is a Senton there somewhere... And one of my favourites 3s LiPos gave up the ghost 😞

  46. My commander would've torn me apart if 20 years ago i brought back a tank that had the track sitting like that. There's a tensioner somewhere, i bet. It certainly looks cool and is something different.
