  8. Ok thanks. I had hoped to get a new charger capable of charging a 6S brick at a rate of 1C comfortably but, an unexpected large repair bill for my real car put the kybosh on that idea, so will just go 2x3S, and at least the money I've not spent on a new charger can buy me more batteries instead! Cheers

  13. So, I took her for a run. On the way I realised I'd not secured the ESC down so popped to B&Q for some double sided tape. Then I looked on Google maps and found a local park.... I drove to the said park, and it was a bit busy tbh. I walked through the trials (and ALMOST saw the appeal of a Crawler!) and finally got to a big open stretch to use it. However, It was then I decided to lose the pinion and have to carry it back to the van. I was originally running 20/35 and was pretty happy with everything, but it wasn't a huge amount different to what id replaced... I hiked back to the Van, and switched over to the 25t pinion I had. Im now running 25/35 Mod 1.5 gearing with an 1100kv motor, which seems over geared to me but we will see. I managed to run my lip's right down and didnt break a thing. This thing is a monster, but I'm still getting used to the mod 1.5 noise. It sounds so mechanical! That said I've found out the following: I need more Lipo's I need to up the brake power I need to lower the punch I need to change the LVC to high Very happy with it. It did run quite hot to be honest, so Im thinking I need to get a lower tooth pinion? Got some crappy pictures as I was on my own. Excuse the shell, Im scared to use my Proline one!

  17. Small update on the SCA-1E….. Stock servo replaced with a 15kg MG, Hobbywing 1080 ESC fitted and set up, SDI Grip doctors arrived and on, shocks tweaked and twiddled. The SDI Grip Doctors I’m quite impressed with, sticky compound, OK on the loose but fantastic on the rock/trail/boulders The front bumper hinders approaching obstacles and climbs so I thought I’d take off the lower section Few trail pics… The smaller tyres/wheels obviously reduce the clearance and decided that size are better suited to my Classic build, going to make this a more ‘capable’ runner.

  18. Ideal cheers Gaz, was hanging on for my order hoping someone would reply on here ? im going to go for the 35t then, as I said before I'm a complete noob to the crawler scene so thankyou for your help. I'm also considering a iridescent paint scheme on the shell but can't decide if I think it's really cool or a bit chavtastic and suited to a Nissan skyline lol, Can only find it in gold/pink and purple/green. Hmmmmmm

  19. Gosh the history is a long one! It's 15+ years old now, I started it when I was about 14 in my bedroom. (I'm 30 now!!!). It was once on the Modelsport.co.uk website and was very basic, I was a moderator on there. It got closed down after a server crash lost loads of data. I volunteered to start a new one - and here we are! There's so much history to it, feel free to ask more specific questions and I'll be happy to answer them. It used to be called Modelsports Unoffical Forum, then we became a little more involved with each other, so became the MSUK-Forum (simply: Modelsport UK Forum). I worked for them for about 2 years when I was about 24/25 (but had dealings with them way before then, since the forum began basically). Still very good friends to them all, went up this Saturday just to say hello and a quick visit to the shop.
