  1. Removing the Baja rollcage to access the motor can be a bit of a pain. HPI's design puts the rollcage beneath the rear shock mounts, which means the shock mounts have to be removed before the rollcage can be removed. This mod will alleviate this faff. What you need: Aprox 100mm of metal tube (aluminium alloy) with an internal diameter of 10mm. A Saw (for the tube and for the Baja rollcage) A drill (for the tube and the rollcage) 2mm drill bit 4 large bodyclips. Some wet and dry paper Method: 1.Cut the metal tube into 2 lengths of aprox 50mm. 2.Use the wet and dry paper to remove any sharp edges from the tube ends. 3.Mark the tube aprox 7mm from each end 4.Using the 2mm drill bit drill through the diameter of the tube where you made the marks in step 3 5.remove any sharp edges, both inside where you have drilled 6.Now cut the Baja rollcage. You need to split the rollcage aprox 60mm from the back of the spark plug protector. (mine is already cut, so pic is what it should like like when done) 7.Clean both ends of the cut rollcage with wet and dry to remove and rough edges 8.Place one of the metal tubes over each end of the cut rollcage. 9.Put the rollcage back into position ensuring that the metal tubes are centered over where the rollcage was cut. Make sure that both ends of the cut rollcage are fully inserted and are touching. You want the fit to be snug, but not too tight that you can't insert or remove the ends. 10.Now drill through the rollcage at the holes created in step 4 11.Insert the large bodyclips 12.Your done!

  3. I prefer Deans as they are smaller. Also easy to solder.

  4. hmm.. Certainly is a tall order you have there mate.. First of all, can i make a personal observation? You say that your bashing style is more akin to racing... Yet you have decided you want a Brushless monster truck! I feel i should mention, with many Monster Trucks, the high centre of gravity and high speeds mean most MT's will spend most of there time on their roof.. The Savage would be Especially bad for this.. Dont get me wrong, its tough as hell, but at high speeds handles like a World War Two Battleship. The main exception to this rule is the Revo, With its Rocker based shock setup, it handles really well for an MT. If your used to the Hyper, but want more off road capability, perhaps Truggys may be your thing. Buying quality Electric can be harder than buying Nitro as theres a lot more initial outlay for what you want. And if you cut corners in electric, (ie batterys or charger.) it shows, and you end up paying for it in the long run. If you have your heart set on bigger off road truck stuff, then theres not a lot really. Especially if you want it "Brushless out of the box". As for Brushless 1/8 RTR Monster trucks, the ERBE and Savvy Flux are pretty much the only options available, And there both well out of budget.. However.. If you are willing to compramise a little, then there are some really awesome things you can get.. If you want to stick to 1/8 scale, then there are a few options available.. Lets look at Truggys, (Bigger wheels and better ground clearence than buggys, while still maintaining decent sped and handling. First, something like the Caster Fusion Brushless RTR Truggy. It will have the bigger wheels and better ground clearence but still give you speed and handling together like your used to with the hyper. Caster Racing, you may have not heard of them, and if you asked here, probably 1 poster in 3 will say there crap, simply because they havent heard of them. this happens a lot, mainly because E-bay and certain companys flood the market with cheap copys and false promises. But Caster Racing, (Amongst a small group of other companys, like HBX ect.) Are just lesser known underdogs. They produce quality kit, better than some mainstream manufacturers IMHO. It may be a little out of your budget, and youd also still need batterys and charger, but is worth a little food for thought if you can stretch your budget. A Far cheaper 1/8 Scale Brushless would be the Ansmann Kryptonite EP This would be well within your

  5. Tough question you have put forward there mate.. As you said, an M.T would be a logical choice, as there really is no 1/8 RTR Electric 4WD Truggys, your really limited to either a 1/10 Buggy, (But that will most likely be massively restricted by long grass) or a 1/10 Stadium Truck. (almost always 2WD though..) To get the most out of 1/10 Leccy off road while staying away from Monster Trucks while looking at around 150 each to leave you with 50 or so for batts/charger. hmm.. here is the 1/10 Traxxas rustler XL5, its pretty tough, OK offroad, and well priced, easy to get bits for but is only 2WD. It is a tried and tested design and is quite popular. Here is the Ansmann Royal Flash, its a 1/10 Truggy, 4WD, Cheap, but suffers from quality issues, in particular with the gearing and spares availability. Here is another 1/10 2WD Stadium Truck, the Losi Desert Truck, top end of your budget at
