Savage 4.6 or revo

Dude I'd say go for the Revo. Much friendlyier to a beginner and overall a better truck than the savage. It has less power, but it will still stun you if you are a noob, and it will be alot more controllable leading to less breakages :)

i aint 100 percent a noob the last truck i owned was a traxxas rustler .15 about 2 years ago wasnt a bad truck

Similar to my Nitro sport I had .... more alloy on yours though, trust me the Revo is nothing like it you'll be laughing like a loon

But the savvy is a good truck but about 20% heavier, and it shows when you get it outta shape at high speed.

As always each to their own, I got the chance to see & drive both before I chose my Revo.

Also I'll agree with Waz when talking about the 4.6 savvy, that's an extreme amount of power for a noob to Monster trucks as opposed to a Stadium truck like a Rustler. If Savvy is what you finally settle on, I'd personally recommend the 25, in the same power to weight ratio as the Revo and you'll spend less time sweeping your truck into a binbag.

BTW I only use Tornado 25% but O'Donnels is the same quality I understand

Grrr:-)

Actually me, I reccomend the 4.6 or no savvy at all because by the time you've got a savvy 25 upto 4.6 spec you'd have spend alot more money but the most important factor is that the 4.6 comes as a kit. You learn an immense amount from building the car.

get a savage ss kit, not as powerful as the 4.6 but you still get the making part of it. and its cheaper.

all the savvys are basicly the same, so it doesn't realy matter what you get.

but if you are planing to race get a revo as screamer said

the kit comes wothout engine so you could put a 4.6 engine in it if you want

People please stop giving out bad advise it annoys me greatly. The Savage SS without engine will be very difficult to get hold of as it has been discontinued for almost a year now. Every Savage kit is a SS, or super sport, not just that one. The 4.6 is the kit you want to go for mate. Oh, and thundersaurus stop spamming, also very annoying.

Love seeing the arguments for both trucks in this kind of topic.

It looks like you are going for the savvvy so I wont bother with the truck part.

As for the radio, may I suggest you look at the Spekrum radio system, Doesn't look like many on here have one but all the reviews I have read says it is a really good system and cheep too. Plus you needn't bother about crystals with it.

Hi I recently bought the savage ss4.6 and this radio both are great :) , the only thin with the radio is yes price wise its good, but if you want to run a second model from it another RX alone seemed very expensive at around £70, but it is a cool radio

The spectrum radio gear is definitely worth getting, if your budget can stretch to it.

All things considering, it’s not that expensive when you take into account that it has a built in fail safe, and you don’t need to buy any crystals to change frequency.

Or you could buy the Hitec Aggressor SRX, and upgrade to DSM with that radio later.

As for the choice of truck, naturally Id recommend the Savage 4.6

Half the reason I chose the savage was purely because I liked the look of it, and the other half, I opted for the ss.4.6 kit for the performance/specification.
